Avid animal-lover, especially dogs
I have 3 dogs of my own ranging from small to large size that have been part of my family for 9 years; all are rescued. Before that, I was pet-sitting for family, friends, and neighbors while they were away. I love animals in general. All of my dogs have been through formal training, and I am working toward earning my CPDT-KA in dog training. Dog walking: I go out for walks with my dogs all the time, walking up to 4 dogs at a time. I have experience walking dogs that don't know how to walk on a leash yet, dogs that walk nicely, and dogs that pull constantly and try to chase other animals they may see. I am happy to work on leash skills and socialization while walking your dog. Pet-sitting: My husband and I have also fostered dogs for animal rescues. So I have experience caring for all types of dogs. I have a dog that is very smart and gets into everything, which has made me very conscious of household pet safety. My priority with all the dogs I care for is to make them comfortable, happy, and safe.

Laura has been great to work with. We have a reactive dog one of three and she’s been very patient in working with him and getting him to walk on the trails. We appreciate her flexibility and she’s in frequent contact with us so that we know how the dogs are doing highly recommend

Laura was amazing I can’t say that enough! Not only did she save my entire vacation from a last minute mishap with the walking arrangements for my dog she even made time to meet us last minute. Mind you my dog is very reactive & big but she handled her so greatly & left my mind at ease making sure she was well taken care of. Thank you so much again! (:
Laura was wonderful! She provided updates on our pups while we were away and sent us a group of photos! She even took one of our puppies on a mini field trip to Bass Pro Shop. Would definitely recommend :)
Laura has been great with walking one of my dogs while I am away for work. She has been really attentive to my dog's needs as a shy rescue and offers a lot of encouragement. She has also been great with my other dog who has some health issues as well. I would highly recommend her for caring for your pets!

Schedule
I am between jobs at the moment, so I am available all day on most days. I work a part-time job Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Sometimes my husband will help me with daycare or boarding.

Safety, trust & environment
With three of my own dogs, there are plenty of friends here to entertain a visiting pup. They are very friendly but can be overwhelming on the initial meeting. I insist on meet and greets for dogs coming to my home so that they can be comfortable with the environment and the other dogs before they are left there. If there is a period of time that my husband and I will not be home, I prefer to crate the visiting dog for the safety of all the dogs. A visiting dog must be able to tolerate a crate for at least a few hours for that reason. All playtime is carefully supervised. Whether in my own home or at your home, I will not take dogs outside unfenced and unleashed even if it is what the dog normally does. I like to take all possible precautions to keep the dogs in my care safe. If they have to travel in my car, they will be secured by a doggie seatbelt.
Pets
A typical day
Some places we may enjoy on walks are the Blackstone River Bikeway, the Cumberland Monastery, Chase Farm in Lincoln, or the dog park in Wrentham, MA or Smithfield, RI. Depending on the dog, we may go for a hike or a ride in the car. I have a large supply of all kinds of dog toys and love to provide play and mental stimulation.
