“Gurudatt and his family were amazing with our pup. They went on multiple walks per day and went to play at the park too. Their dog Bruno is super friendly and was a great play partner for our dog. They sent pictures and videos throughout the stay so I knew she was being well taken care of and happy.”

“We felt so lucky to have found Lynn & Marty to care for our sweet boy while we were out of town. They were incredibly kind, warm and communicative throughout the entire process. They are true dog lovers, and we had great peace of mind knowing Sonny was with such wonderful people during our trip. Thank you, Lynn & Marty!”

“Our 12 month old vizsla LOVED Eve!! Our pup can be anxious when not with her family and has high energy needs. Eve was so caring and thoughtful with our pup. And took her on hikes which is our dogs favorite. Eve just might be our pups best friend now. :) would totally recommend Eve! She’s the best.”

“Jeanine was wonderful. Very friendly, great with our dog and and great with us. Our pup frequently get nervous about being left behind, or getting to know other dogs, and by the time we got there for pick up the next day, our dog was comfortable with Jeanine's dogs and was happy to be there. We have already booked a second stay. Thanks Jeanine!”

“Aya and David wore out our high energy dog, and that was exactly what he needed. This was the first time that our dog was away from us overnight so we weren’t too sure how he’d do. He was fine (as Aya and David both gave updates, soothing our worries) and that was a major relief. Our dog also enjoyed visiting a toddler, and he loved her as much as she loved him. Where there are giggles, doggy kisses won’t be far behind. It’s a relief knowing we have Aya and David for the future!”

“Waffles was so excited to see Gail when we dropped her off. She had a great time with Gail and her dogs. Gail was communicative, and I know Waffles is in good, caring hands when she’s there.”

“Amber is truly the best sitter I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Mochi always had a great time at her place. She even took Mochi to see the cherry blossoms. We highly recommend Amber to anyone in need of a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

About: I’ve cared for animals my whole life—dogs, cats, and especially puppies. I’ve personally trained two puppies from scratch, so I’m comfortable with the patience and consistency it takes to support a dog through their early years. I have a deep, intuitive connection with animals and often find I understand their energy and needs even better than people’s. I work for myself from home here in Santa Barbara, which means I have plenty of flexibility to give pets the time, attention, and companionship they deserve. Whether it's daily walks, belly rubs, or just a calm, safe space, I approach every animal with genuine care and a tender heart. I’m also very active, so long walks and outdoor time are a highlight for both me and the dogs I care for. I work for myself and from home, so my schedule is very flexible. That means I can easily adapt to your pet’s needs—whether it’s regular walks, drop-in visits, or overnight care. I’ll always make time to give your pet the attention and consistency they deserve. Every animal is unique, and I take the time to understand their individual needs, energy, and comfort level. I’ll meet your dog or cat where they’re at—whether that means extra space, extra snuggles, or gentle structure—with clear, compassionate boundaries to keep them safe and happy. If your pet is staying with me, they’ll be treated like one of my own. I live in a calm, pet-friendly apartment near Santa Barbara City College, with plenty of walkable paths and green spaces nearby. I love getting outside and take dogs on multiple long walks throughout the day. If your dog is social and has solid recall, I can bring them to local off-leash areas for supervised play and exploration. I have one small dog of my own—Pepper, a 3.5-year-old mixed breed who’s very friendly and well-socialized. I also have two young stepsons who are with us 50% of the time, so dogs staying in our home must be kid-friendly. The good news? Your dog will get plenty of love and attention from four caring humans. I’ve trained two of my own dogs from puppyhood and am confident managing a range of behaviors—from leash training to crate routines and basic obedience. I’m also comfortable administering medications and caring for senior pets or those with special needs. For cat care, I’m especially attuned to their unique rhythms and boundaries, and I provide calm, consistent care whether I’m visiting your home or caring for them during a stay. Whether I’m boarding, walking, or house sitting, your pet will be safe, respected, and genuinely cared for—just like family.

“Svetlana was a dream and our little guy loved staying with her. They went on adventures, walks and had a lot of fun together. She sent us tons of videos and pictures to make sure we were updated. I can tell she adores dogs and takes really good care of them :)”

“Ryan was amazing with our Andy! We were super stressed looking for a place to stay with her as she just got adopted by us and a lot of people were hesitant about taking a dog straight from a shelter for a few days but Ryan did great with her and provided a ton of updates and photos and went above and beyond. We are so grateful for his help!!”

“Tory was wonderful with Nala! Nala loved her beginning with our meet and greet. Tory sent daily photos of Nala where I could see the smiles on her face and how comfortable she was in Tory’s company. Tory also took Nala on daily walks in different environments like the beach! I highly recommend Tory and look forward to Nala’s next stay with her.”

“Honey was so wonderful with my dog! She was great about sending photos and updates throughout his stay with her. My dog was happy and well cared for in her home. Would definitely recommend!”

“Wendy is really great with dogs! You can tell right away that she is such an animal lover and is the kindest person. I wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch my dog again. Thank you, Wendy!”

“Ada was fantastic! Great communication and even when Theo developed a bit of a booboo, she cleaned it and put some antiseptic on it which helped greatly. Will definitely book again next time we are in the area. Thanks!!”

“They were incredibly hospitable and accommodating. I’m so grateful to have them right here in my neighborhood! I’m very particular about my dog’s care—especially coming from a country with advanced dog care standards. This was my second booking, and I had complete peace of mind knowing my dog was safe, happy, and well cared for in a clean home with a fenced yard, playing with their sweet puppy, Daisy. The photos Vivian sent meant so much to me—it was comforting to see my dog not only safe but also happy and social. What reassures me even more is that they previously owned a small dog before Daisy and truly understand the needs of small breeds at every life stage. I’m grateful to have found such thoughtful, trustworthy people. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again—and I look forward to seeing Daisy next time too!”

“Sparky had another amazing time with Jacob and his family! He was so happily tired he just snuggled right in for a nap, not that he was happy to leave Jacob’s place! Very slow going to get into our car LOL I truly can’t say enough about the love and attention Sparky gets here, it’s as fun for Sparky as our vacations are for us! Thank you thank you!!”

“The biggest worry for us when we take a vacation is care for our dog. James recently took care of our Boston, Bruce, for 11 nights while we were overseas. James is incredibly caring and Bruce was happy and healthy at pickup. He has a nice setup with an enclosed yard, is easy to communicate with, sent pictures throughout and took care of our dog as if Bruce was his own.”

“Ashley was wonderful taking care of my little Buddy Cannoli. He’s one of the most important people (yes I said that) in my life. I felt safe leaving him in her capable hands. Thank you!”

“I would give ten stars if I could. Oliver and Traci got along so well, he wanted to stay longer. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a loving and caring place to send their best friend.”

Upper State dog parents share their Rover experiences
Honey took such great care of our 2 Australian Shepherds. She was responsive, proactive with asking the right questions, and sent plenty of videos/ photos which we really appreciated. Honey particularly went above and beyond by showing us new commands that she had taught the dogs while we were gone. Our pups came home both exhausted (in a good way), behaved, and well satisfied. Lastly, we were especially appreciative when our travel plans unexpectedly changed and Honey agreed to continue watching the dogs for an extra 4 days even when she has personal plans of her own. Thank you so much, Honey!
Christian was beyond helpful! My wife & I were planning our wedding around the area and we needed someone to take care of our girl, Kaiya, for peace of mind. We also needed help with Kaiya needing to be dropped off & picked up from our venue as our pup was the ring bearer during the ceremony, which Christian was more than happy to offer his support. Definitely will use him again whenever we’re back around Santa Barbara & appreciate you a ton for allowing us to enjoy our special day! Thank you Christian😊🙏

Colette took great care of Penny! Got photos of all the walks they took together and frequent feedback of how she was doing overall. Penny was very happy when I picked her up and kept going back to get more pets from Colette and her sister.. Would definitely use her again!

Siobhan was wonderfully sweet, patience and understanding with Sofie. Sofie played with Cooper and had a great time while staying with them. Her resident is close to mine so it will be convenient to leave and pick up Sofie for future stays. Good job, Siobhan. Thank you so much.

My first time using Rover and we booked Tory for a 2 night boarding last minute for my dog Willow. We were worried about her being sad while we were gone, but Tory did such a wonderful job taking care of her! She kept us updated with many photos and it was obvious they were having a good time together. She made sure Willow was comfortable with her toys and Willow felt so comfortable she cuddled with her which is a pretty big deal for her. She took her to the beach and they had a great time! She even got Willow to eat and sometimes Willow will refuse to eat when we leave her with my family and we aren’t around. Overall I’m happy we put our trust in Tory and I would highly recommend!
