Paul is lovely, and my Border Collie Milo who can be shy and difficult, absolutely adored him from the get go! Paul asked me all the right questions when we met first, and really wanted to underatand Milo to provide the best care. I would highly recommend Paul to anyone who hasn't tried sitters before who are wanting someone trustworthy to rely on for pet sitting. At the end of the day, I had a summary of photos from their activies of the day and a very happy dog! He didn't want to leave haha. Thank you so much Paul.

Chocs said "Laura was great; she should come back every time you swan off on this and that". And I believe every little thing Chocs tell me. How else could I know how it all was good? I wasn't here for the six hours that Laura reigned supreme. What I am sure about, is that it was all mutual smiles when I returned. Top Marks!

About: I have always had a soft spot for animals, and anytime family/friends needed help with their pets I was always the first to help. Meaning I have plenty of experience in different ages/ different breeds of dogs and cats. My partner who lives with me also has plenty of experience, in particular with medium/large breeds of dogs. We are open to all ages, sizes and breeds🙂 I will always go out of my way to make sure your pet is happy and well looked after whilst they are staying with us. That includes: nice long walks, loads of cuddles and maybe a sneaky treat🙈 Just drop me a message😀 I currently work for an agency, meaning I pick and choose my hours that I work. This means that I will be very flexible with my services and can do boarding every night of the week currently🙂 Moreover, with my free time it will mean I can ensure long walks and loads of loving and company for your pet. Your pet will never feel alone when they are with us and will always feel super loved! All animals are more than welcome anywhere in the house, my house is their home when they are staying with us❤️ I have a good sized garden which is fully secure and plenty of space throughout for the dogs to go wherever they want.

Emily is fantastic with Poppy. It is the first time that she has been left with someone outside the family and Emily put me at ease. She kept me updated through the day, and I had total confidence that she would care for Poppy. Poppy had a lovely time and was really tired. We would recommend Emily and have already rebooked.

About: I recently retired from a 20 year career in the Army before settling back in Taunton with my husband Dave and our 3 children. With excellent communication and organisational skills your bookings and questions are promptly answered and reliable. I am very personable and you will find a friendly and professional welcome. Having always had dogs in my life, I have experience with young puppies, boisterous energetic breeds, shy, nervous and reserved rescues and elderly slower dogs. I have cared for dogs throughout my career and more recently in my home for family and friends on a casual basis. I am now turning this experience into a more professional offering. I have upskilled my experience recently with an up to date hands on Dog First Aid Course and Diplomas in Pet Sitting and Dog Walking, Animal Psychology, Introduction to Animal Care Certificate and Introduction to Kennel Management Certification. I am also doing an Introduction to Dog Training, Canine Communication, Pet Nutrition and Grooming courses. Me and Dave both work from home with me having a completely flexible schedule and uninterrupted time to focus on Luna and any of her guest doggy friends. Our home is open to dogs who want constant company, a willing playmate, familiar household surroundings, family activity and above all loving attention. The entire downstairs is open to explore, a large family garden and our own secure paddock with lots of land to investigate. If the facilities at home aren’t sufficient for your dog’s energy we are spoilt for choice by some excellent open countryside, woodland, river, Quantock hills, beaches and green space walks. I am insured and 1st Aid trained.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Sedgemoor

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Sedgemoor on Rover is £23 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 1,326 sitters on Rover for Doggy Day Care in Sedgemoor. About 85% of Sedgemoor sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you are planning ahead for public holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day cover for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later collection to match your Sedgemoor commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust collection and drop-off times when needed.

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:

  • Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
  • Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
  • Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
  • Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
  • Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in South West England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English, French, German, and Spanish from Mon-Sat 9am to 6pm. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a qualified vet or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s booking protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
