“Caragh and Callum were the best sitters for my rescue greyhound! They're both so lovely and take the best care of Dappy. They're trustworthy and it's clear how much effort and care they put into dogsitting. I have no reservations about re-booking with them and it's clear that they prioritise safety and comfort for my dog.”

“Serge had a great time with Robert. Lots of long walks in the fresh air left him snoring at night! 3 days in a row was a big ask but Robert made it easy and Serge was wagging his tail and didn’t even look back by the 2nd day. Whether he was relaxing or out having fun Robert kept us up to date with some lovely photos of Serge. He took great care of Serge and we would highly recommend his services. Happy to use him again.”

“We were up from Bedfordshire for a funeral and didn't want to leave our dog behind. Rebecca met us the day before where we introduced Willow to her and Ossie. She is a lovely person and left us in no doubt that Willow would be well cared for. We had to extend the visit with her and she accommodated this without any extra charge. We don't like being apart from our Willow but should we have to book doggy day care again, it will be with Rebecca. Thanks very much!”

“David and Hazel were absolutely wonderful with our dog Barney — 1 couldn't have asked for kinder, more attentive care. From the moment we met, it was clear how calm, experienced, and genuinely lovely they are. Barney can be a little shy at first, but he took to them straight away, which speaks volumes! David kept me updated - sending videos and photos made sure he was comfortable, and gave him all the attention (and cuddles!) he needed. David took him out for great walks and played with him in the garden. Barney just loved him. It was such a relief knowing he was in safe and caring hands. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, and I'll definitely be asking for their help again. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our boy!”

“Highly recommend Alex! He’s great with our collie, Willow. He updated us loads with pictures throughout the day. Our dog is very nervous and both people/dog reactive and Alex was great, allowing us to introduce her gradually by visiting a few times before leaving her with him for the first time. We’re delighted with how her first stay went and will definitely be booking him in the future. Don’t think Willow wanted to come home after finding a comfortable spot to sleep on his table. Totally put out minds at ease knowing she’s in good hands! Thanks again Alex! Willow can’t wait to see you again”

“Amy was incredibly caring and we felt really safe leaving Arwen with her. She made sure to understand Arwen's habits thoroughly. She updated us with multiples pictures during the day. She truly went above and beyond for our pup. Moreover, she's very friendly and nice! We would definitely book her again 😀”

Your dog’s first day care experience is a big milestone! To help your pup settle in comfortably, we recommend:
- Food and treats portioned for the day, with feeding instructions
- Your dog's lead and collar (ensure tags are up-to-date)
- Any seasonal gear, such as paw-safe wax for winter or a cooling vest for the summer
- Medication, if applicable, with clear dosage notes
- Any special care instructions or training tips to help your sitter provide the most personalised care possible
Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in Scotland may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
