About: I’m Lauren, an outdoorsey freelance medical writer and experienced dog sitter living in Somerset. I love hiking, running, exploring in the campervan with my partner Kevin, and of course dogs! I grew up with two springer spaniels so I have been a dog person as long as I can remember. A few months ago I returned from a campervan trip around Europe with my partner Kevin where we met lots of friendly dogs and cats (as can be seen in my photos!), which inspired us to start dog sitting here in Somerset. We have been dog and house sitting via TrustedHousesitters for a barbet and separately for three cockers spaniels (including a crazy 6-month old), doing repeat sits for both. As a freelancer, my schedule is part-time and flexible therefore I can be flexible on timings for walks. Kevin works in-person but will join dog walks in the evening. I grew up in Axbridge so I am familiar with walking routes around Somerset. I am a home worker, working 4 days a week as a freelance medical writer. My working hours are flexible so I can be flexible on timings for dog walks I will of course follow any guidance or preferences from the owner. I will always bring the essentials for each dog and I’m happy to send photo updates and to walk in familiar areas for the dog if preferable. I will also be insured for dog walking before accepting my first client.

About: I started my Veterinary Nursing training when I was 18 years old and have not looked back since! I trained at an animal shelter practice and therefore have a good understanding of dogs with individual needs and temperaments. I have since qualified as an Emergency and Critical Care Nurse and now work as a Nursing Manager at a Large Veterinary Referral Hospital. I am certified in both Basic and Advanced Life Support/CPR and am happy administering all types of medications including injections. In addition to my extensive Veterinary experience I have also grown up with dogs and love to care and support them in all stages of their lives! I have been trusted by neighbours, friends, family and clients to look after their dogs before, even those with very advanced medical conditions and I am therefore comfortable caring for dogs that have a range of training and medical needs. About: I have owned cats and horses my whole life and have dog sit on Rover for around 2 years. I have received 5* reviews from all owners. I have done walking, day care and boarding for long durations and have loved providing a safe and happy environment for every dog who has stayed. Having owned cats and horses my whole life I have a good attention to detail and make sure to cater to every pets specific needs. I am a patient and kind handler and a true animal lover. My two horses are pictured in the last slide. I am currently in my final year of studying an equine degree at Hartpury University, specialising in horse behaviour and welfare. I come home to Cheddar most weekends, when I am free to look after your pets. My weekday availability varies so please message if you have any out of hours requests and I will do my best to accommodate. I’m fortunate enough to live on a quiet private lane with a secure and gated patio and a small grass garden. We are tucked away from main roads and don’t get any through traffic. When staying overnight in my house I have the option to section off parts of my house with a baby gate or leave open the whole of downstairs which is plenty enough space for a larger dog. My house is very quiet and peaceful and so if your dog prefers a quieter environment they will be more than happy. I also have heaps of cozy blankets but please feel free to bring as many of your own as you like.

“Booked Rachel to walk our Cockapoo today around 3:30pm, the temperature outside was very hot and Rachel was brilliant, did the 7 second pavement test and judged it was too hot so played with the dog in the garden for the 30 mins. About: I grew up with two border collies. I helped care for them from pups to seniors. I don't have that many photos of me and them together or me and any pet together as I was a bit camera shy. I completely understand what it takes and how much our animals mean to us. From feeding them twice to three times a day, to the hours upon hours of walking I did with them by my side. I really learnt what it was like to care and look after pets. Young and old. I was in control of dog sledging team last winter. Competeing in races and casual sledging. I worked with my mother who fostered a puppy when our dog was senior, so I understand the difference in age and what is required with each stage of an animals life. Catering my experience to whatever stage your pet is at. I am an avid hiker and love taking dogs with me. I have been left friends dogs and cats to feed while they were away. Overall I just love animals. I am very flexible around dates and times. On an average week I will have 2-3 days i can dedicate to your pet. It will take a bit of organizing but I am sure that I can fit around your schedule. I like to listen to the pet owners about their pets, as I believe they know them best. I look to find out all i can about a dog before walks. If I am too come to your home. I like to know if the pet is on any medication. If there is any strict rules the pet follows (like not being allowed in bedrooms) after all it's the pets home. I'm just a visitor. Overall I like to get a sense of the animal and the situation I am coming into.

About: Growing up in country Australia I have been surrounded by all kinds of dogs from rescue greyhounds, senior citizens, and puppies my whole life. I have have a pooch of my own (a double doodle named Ffyn) and would love to take special care of your K9 family. I am experienced in house sitting, walking, and drop ins. I currently own a doodle puppy who would love the company of another dog, young or old. I work from home part of the week and my partner works from home full time. We live in a cottage in the countryside with easy access to beautiful forest and field walks, and have a very comfortable sofa for your pooch to relax on after a nice walk. We have a fully fenced garden and outdoor area. The house with its thick stone walls stays lovely and cool in hot weather where the dogs love to relax inside.

About: Had family pets throughout my life and have cared for and walked my friend’s and family’s dogs when needed. About: Hellooo I’m Phoebe, I’m a qualified veterinary surgeon and starting a new role which means I’ll have some days off during the week and weekend. I grew up at a child minders who also had a pet sitting service, so from a young age have looked after anything from hamsters and tortoises to large-breed dogs. I have my own dog and tortoise who I adore! As a vet, I’m comfortable with giving medications at home and following your pet’s routine as closely as possible! I have an attention to detail and am more than happy to give you regular updates and photos. I’ve been working as a vet now for 2 years and starting a new role this summer! I have my own tortoise and dog who I adore. In my new role at work my shifts are constantly changing, which means available dates are not regular. But we can have a chat about what you and your pet need and work out a plan from there! On weekdays I can possibly do drop ins before and after work for cats, so just drop me a message to check dates that aren’t available on my calendar. I believe all pets are different in terms of what they need when their pet parents are away or busy. Sometimes this is a change of environment and other times it’s home stays. Unfortunately since I am in rented accommodation I cannot provide overnight stays, but I can walk dogs and do drop ins for a variety of pets. I can also house sit during the day. Due to my own pet responsibilities, overnight house sitting is not ideal.

About: My whole childhood involved Dogs, I have also looked after several friends dogs due to my job being home based and flexible on times. I came across Rover as I was seeking a House Sitter and decided that I can give back. I have 2 dogs myself who are all friendly and have different needs due to their ages so can be tailored to your dogs requirements. I work from home and have flexible hours. I have a large garden that dogs can go in and out of the house as they please. We have a field next door which is great for a 25 /35 minute walk. I tend to run my two younger dogs and then a slow plod for my eldest. I have helped various neighbours with their dogs for days as my work is home based and flexible for your dogs and requirements can cater for all.
