About: Dogs and cats have been in my life since I was at a young age. I've found that growing up with them has taught me a great deal of patience, compassion, and attentiveness. It has even led me to become a foster at the age of 18 for Starfish Animal Rescue out of Geneva, IL where I use to reside. Through that organization I learned how to begin potty training, crate train, manually feed and care for newborn kittens, administer many forms of medications (orally, through a syringe, topically), care for special needs cases such as deformities and surgical ones. With these skills I am able to identify common issues a dog or cat may encounter. I learned to be able to 'listen' to their needs. I believe this is what sets me apart from other sitters. Your pet will receive the utmost respect and care, as well as the comfort and attention they deserve. I currently work part time at a restaurant so I have lots of time to give. On the days that I work, I have the ability to take long morning walks, visit on my lunch for potty breaks/midday stretch, and spend the rest of the day playing, brushing, walking, snuggling, or whatever else seems to fit the needs of the dog/cat. My evenings with my own pets usually include an outdoor brushing (indoor for cats), play period, pm feeding, and an evening walk before bed. The weekends are tailored to more adventure such as hikes, river walks, and/or dog park visits. If your pet is suitable for these types of activities, I am more than able to incorporate them into my daily routine. If they require something less active, I can incorporate that too. I have a fenced in yard and patio where my 2 dogs like to play and rest in the daytime. There is never a time, no matter the weather, where they are left unsupervised. On nicer days, I will sit outside to play with them, read while they rest, eat a meal, or do some outdoor cleaning while in their presence. As well trained as they are, they never leave the house without the proper restraints (leash, harness, collar). I live in a quiet neighborhood with kind and trusting neighbors. My dogs are crate trained and never left alone for more than 4 hours during the day. For walking services I ensure that exercise standards are met, and they receive potty breaks no more than 4 hours apart. Same thing for overnight services. They will be cared for per instruction and if your pet is not compatible with others, I have a partner who equally contributes to the care of our two dogs and two cats. Meaning, your loved one will be my priority, and it is never an issue to keep the care of my pets, and your pets separate (in instances of long periods of time like house sitting or overnights).
