“Julia is the best! She’s been regularly taking care of my Great Dane puppy (who can be a bit of a handful) for the past year and is absolutely phenomenal! Julia’s very friendly, trustworthy, reliable, patient, and caring. I can tell she treats my dog with the same compassion and love she gives to her pets at home! We love having Julia in our home!”

“Jessica is amazing! We love having her look after our dogs. Her daily reviews and pictures are a joy to receive. If you need a caring sitter that takes the time and effort to make your pets feel comfortable look no further!”

About: I’ve had cats and dogs for most of my life and caring for animals is something I truly love. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routines, and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I have experience caring for senior pets and those with special needs, including administering medications, supporting mobility challenges, and providing a calm, patient environment. I know how important consistency and gentle care are, especially for pets who need a little extra attention. Whether it’s a walk, playtime, or quiet companionship, I’ll treat your pet like my own and make sure they’re happy, healthy, and loved every step of the way. I currently have cats of my own but they are used to other pets in the home, including dogs. Additionally, I offer complimentary meet and greets prior to petting your pet, to see if it’s a good fit. I work from home and my schedule is flexible, so I’m able to interact with and love on your fur baby all day. I can also pick up and drop off your little one if need be. I do have a few cats of my own, so if you have a kitty needing care, it may be best for me to care for them in their own environment. My cats are used to other pets though, including dogs, so they are more than welcome in my home. I also have a fenced-in yard with a lot of room for your dog to run around and live in a neighborhood conducive to walks.
“Diane was absolutely fantastic! She took wonderful care of my weiner dogs and treated them like family. She went above and beyond by keeping me updated with cute pictures every day. I felt completely at ease knowing all 5 were in such great hands. Highly recommend!”

“Taylor was really excellent with my special needs kitty. My girl has had several health issues come up in the last few months, and needs several medications on a very strict schedule twice a day. She had no issues getting her to take the meds. Taylor was on time each visit and clearly really cared for my sweet girl and her crazy sibling. Her communication was excellent and she followed instructions perfectly. My animals warmed up to Taylor right away. I will absolutely use Taylor again in the near future, as long as she is available. She made me feel at ease, leaving my cats under her watchful eye when I was traveling out of state for work. Thank you, Taylor! You are the best and we’ll see you again soon!”

“Juliana is wonderful, with the animals and with communication. She gives great updates with pictures and I always feel confident my fur babies are taken care of when she’s with them. Highly recommend her 🫶”

“I 100% recommend Ivana for your pet needs!! We are a complicated household of special needs pets and some sibling rivalry that requires us following certain protocols to avoid any issues. Ivana made time to get to know our pets prior to pet sitting for us and walked through our typical routine. When doing her drop-in stop, she did a great job of following all rules and maintaining us updated throughout the way. She was also very punctual - which is crucial for us, given that our pets need medication at specific times.”

“Stephanie was amazing! She kept me updated about my babies and send pictures as well. She is very caring and love that my babies were very comfortable with her! Highly recommended booking with her!! Thank you for your amazing service. 🥰”

“Whitney went above and beyond while taking care of our two dogs (one large and one small). Not only did she give them everything they needed (affection, walks, food and treats) she also cleaned up our kitchen which was so thoughtful. Whitney clearly loves animals and would highly recommend her.”

About: I was raised on a farm, giving me lifelong experience caring for animals of all kinds. I also foster and adopt pets, and I treat every animal like family. I provide dependable, loving care and understand that every pet deserves patience, attention, and plenty of affection while you’re away. I work remotely weekdays until 2:00 PM, so I’m available most afternoons and evenings for pet care. During the school year, I’m also available for morning visits after 8:00 AM. I have two young children who often accompany me on errands, so I’m best suited for friendly, child-comfortable pets. I’m flexible, reliable, and happy to work with your schedule whenever possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a secure fenced yard, pet-friendly dogs, cats, and children, and I’m responsible, reliable, respectful of your home, privacy, and your pet’s unique needs.

About: Hello! My name is Jade and I would love to meet your furry friends! I started Rover a few years ago but had to stop due to time constraints from my full time job, but now I’m committing all my time to pet care. Currently, I have three cats and two dogs, who are all rescues. I’ve had both of my dogs since they were only a few months old. So I understand the trials and tribulations of puppyhood…puppy training, crate training, obedience training, and leash walking. Hiccup and Paris both love other dogs! They have experience with dogs of all sizes! Hiccup is more of a cuddler and couch potato. Paris is higher energy and loves to play. They would be so excited to have a dog come stay with them. Feel free to set up a meet and greet! I stay at home full time now and my husband also works from home. So your pet will have constant adult supervision during their stay. I have a fenced backyard and a fenced play area in my neighborhood. I also live really close to a large public park with walking trails.
“Danielle did great with my dog! My dog has high energy and isn’t often left alone. Danielle did not seem phased by my crazy girl and her antics. She was dependable, left a detailed report with a lot of photos, and loved on my girl which made leaving her a bit easier! I definitely recommend Danielle and will book her for future needs!!”

“Melinda did a fantastic job for taking care of my sick fur puppy. I felt comfortable and at ease with Melinda looking after Coco and she kept me updated with photos every visit. Would happily have her look after CoCo again. I would highly recommend Melinda.”

“Rebekah was absolutely amazing! Her communication was fantastic, she really took care of my babies like they were her own! I recommend booking her, you won’t be disappointed! I will be booking her in the future!”

“Erin provided excellent Rover service! She was super responsive, friendly, and very caring for our cats. We knew we were in good hands and could trust her to check in on them when we went on a long vacation. I would highly recommend her and would definitely book her again.”
“I’m relatively new to Rover and this is the best experience I’ve had! She’s very communicative and lets me know about Zuko’s day, how he’s been, how many times he has or hasn’t gotten to the restroom and how much and etc.!! Overall terrific and will definitely be rebooking in the future! (And by future I mean in the next 5 mins lol)”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
