About: Hello! I’m Molly :) I’ve been pet sitting for a few years and have experience with all kinds of dogs from energetic pups to sweet seniors. I’m calm, consistent, and always follow care instructions closely. I send updates so you feel at ease while you’re away. I’ve also worked at the SF Zoo and volunteered at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center, so I know how to handle animals gently and respectfully. Whether your dog needs playtime, patience, or just company, I’m happy to help! Pet care fits naturally into my routine! Since I just graduated college, I have a flexible schedule, I have plenty of time to do drop-ins, pet care, pet sitting, walk, and overnight stays. I enjoy making time to care for other people's pets! I will follow a list if one is provided and I'll always make sure to stick closely to the pets' routine to help them feel safe and comfortable. In a client'a home, I'm respectful of the space and always clean up after myself and the pet. I make sure doors and gates are secure, check water and food bowls regulary, and give pets the attention they need. If I ever notice something out of the ordinary, I'll reach out right away. My priority is making sure both pets and their owners feel safe and respected at all times.

About: Hi, I’m Morgan! I’m a lifelong dog lover and proud dog mom to my sweet 3-year-old Maltipoo 🐶 I’ve been dog-sitting for years and genuinely love getting to spend time with all different kinds of pups. I work remotely, so my schedule is super flexible and can easily be tailored to your dog’s needs. I’m also currently getting my master’s degree, and I use Rover to help support my tuition, which makes this something I truly care about and put a lot of effort into. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, or just wants someone to hang out and cuddle with, I’ll be there to give them lots of attention and love throughout the day. I treat every dog like they’re my own and always try to make them feel as safe, comfortable, and happy as possible while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I don’t take that lightly 💛 Right now, I’m not offering overnight stays in my home since I live with two other dogs, but I’m more than happy to help with: • Walks • Drop-in visits • Staying in your home I’ll follow your routine closely and keep things as normal and stress-free as possible for your pup. Just a heads up, I am allergic to cats, so I’m only able to care for dogs. Feel free to reach out with any questions at all. I’d love to meet you and your pup and make sure they feel right at home 🐾 I cater my schedule to your dog’s specific needs! I work from home and spend most of my time with my own sweet pup, so I can guarantee your dog will get plenty of attention, love, and playtime during their stay. I always make sure pets feel safe and comfortable in my care. I’m not offering overnight stays right now since I live with two other dogs, but I’m happy to do walks, drop-in visits, or stay in your house while boarding. I’ll follow any routines or instructions you leave and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention and care while you’re away. Since I work from home, I’m super flexible and can be there when your pet needs me most.

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I've owned pets (mostly dogs) throughout my life and have experience with pets of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I currently help care for my sister's cats when she travels, and I understand how important it is for pet parents to know their animals are safe, comfortable, and loved while they're away. I'm dependable, patient, and attentive to routines. Whether it's feeding, walks, playtime, medications, or simply providing companionship, I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel secure and cared for. As an empty nester, I have the maturity and responsibility that homeowners and pet owners can count on. I currently work from home part-time, which gives me the flexibility to provide attentive care and companionship throughout the day. I'm available for walks, drop-in visits, overnight stays, and house sitting, and I can accommodate most feeding, exercise, and medication schedules. I understand that pets thrive on consistency, and I make it a priority to maintain their routines while their owners are away. I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would expect for my own. I carefully follow feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication instructions, and any special requests provided by owners. Safety is always my top priority, whether we're out on a walk or relaxing at home. I also believe communication is important, so you can expect regular updates, photos, and check-ins while you're away. My goal is to help both pets and their owners feel comfortable, safe, and stress-free.

We had the pleasure of rebooking Mamu for a two week trip, and once again, they did a wonderful job caring for my high energy dog. Mamu is incredibly thoughtful and attentive by sending daily pictures and videos but also going the extra mile to care for my dog's specific needs. They have been working with my dog on his leash pulling. Mamu isn't just watching over your furry friend, but they truly engages with them and wants to help them thrive. Mamu is also very observant and always quick to communicate if something seems off or needs attention. My dog absolutely ADORES Mamu. If you’re lucky enough to book with Mamu, know that your pet, home and your peace of mind are in the best hands.

Lisa was an amazing dog sitter and house sitter! She gave us daily updates and photos of our doggo. Seeing that she was with Fonsi throughout the day, playing and snuggling, put our hearts at ease while we were traveling. During the two weeks that we were gone Lisa helped water our plants and even called the city when there was an unexpected sewer problem. She really put her heart into caring for our doggy and our home. We were super lucky to have found her and will definitely be using her again!

Coralee also was patient and responsive when our travel plans got disrupted, and kept my baby company much later than we originally planned. I very highly recommend her.

About: I have grown up in Santa Cruz my whole life. I have had many different pets and want to pursue my love for animals by taking care of yours. I have also taken an animal training course at Cabrillo College. I currently work part time as an EMT and on my days off I love to be outside and walk my dog, I usually dedicate my whole day to be with her whether it’s bike rides, walks, or beach days. I take my dog to her annual vet check ups. My dog has insurance and is currently eating 2 meals a day. One in the morning and one at night. She is a very loving dog to humans and other dogs. I trust her off leash at the beach so we do that regularly. She also enjoys cruiser bike rides on west cliff.

Kivi was amazing with my sweet dog Nala. This was my first time asking Kivi to house sit, and she truly went above and beyond. Not only did she take Nala on great walks at the beach, but she hung out with her in her garden, sent me lots of pictures, and did all the things that Nala loves. I’m always a little nervous leaving my baby behind, but for a second I wondered if she was having more fun with me being away haha. I can tell Kivi is a genuine animal-loved, and she had a very kind and trustworthy nature. What more can you ask out of a house sitting experience?

About: Hi! I’m Taryn! I’m an experienced and compassionate pet caregiver with a lifelong love for animals — especially rescues. Over the past 13 years, I’ve owned and cared for three very different dogs (a chihuahua, dachshund mix, and shepherd mix), so I understand that every dog has their own personality, needs, and boundaries. I’m comfortable adjusting care based on your dog — whether that means a short, gentle walk for a senior pup or a long, active outing to burn energy. I also have hands-on experience with dogs who have leash or food aggression, and I always approach care with patience, awareness, and respect for each dog’s comfort level. As of 6/1/2026 I have a Certificate of Completion from the American Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid (online) In addition, one of my dogs, Shadow, has seizures, so I’m familiar with staying calm in high-stress situations, monitoring for symptoms, and providing attentive, responsive care when it matters most. I understand how important it is to trust someone with a pet who has extra needs. I’ve also helped care for friends’ dogs of all sizes and breeds — from small terriers to larger dogs like pit bulls — and feel confident handling a wide range of temperaments. I’m happy to provide: • Walks tailored to your dog’s energy level • Feeding and routine care • Medication (depending on type) • Baths and brushing • Calm, attentive care for anxious or special needs pets • Plenty of love and companionship Beyond dogs, I have 20+ years of experience with cats. I’ve volunteered with Homeless Cat Network and fostered for Coastside Feral Care. Fun fact: Every animal I’ve cared for or owned has been a rescue — I have a special place in my heart for them and understand the extra patience and care they sometimes need. ________________________________________ 🐾 Why pet parents choose me • Experience with multiple breeds and temperaments • Comfortable with reactive and special needs dogs • Firsthand experience with seizure care • Cat care expert with volunteer/foster background • Calm, patient, and highly attentive

About: Hey! Glad to see you here! My name is Morgan, and while I’m new to Rover, I’m not new to animal care. If you want someone who aims to understand your pets, respects their routines, is intentional, and takes a thoughtful, behavior-focused approach to care — welcome! I’m a calm, capable sitter who tailors care to your pet’s unique needs, energy level, and emotional comfort. Whether your dog is a mellow senior, a wild child in training, or just your average well-behaved snugglebug, I offer structure, enrichment, affection, and the kind of consistency pets thrive on. I believe all animals deserve to be heard and deserve intentional care and structure. ❌ Things I don’t do: • Dog parks • Chaotic group situations • Handing out treats “just because” • Pushing past an animal’s comfort zone • Ignoring or minimizing behavioral needs ✅ Things I do: • Personalized, temperament-based care • Adventures (if your pet is up for it!) • Daily enrichment and mental stimulation • Intentional structure and calm routines • Respecting your pet’s boundaries and setting healthy ones • All the snuggles (when invited!) I also have hands-on experience with cats, small animals (like guinea pigs and rats), reptiles, and even farm animals like pigs and ducks. If it has paws, claws, hooves, or scales — chances are, I’ve cared for it. When it’s a good fit, I love incorporating dogs into my daily life — whether that’s a nature walk, a car ride to town, or just relaxing outside. But I never take dogs to dog parks or chaotic spaces. If something feels too stimulating or simply isn’t right for your pet, we skip it — no pressure, no push. And if your pup is the stay-home-and-cuddle type? That works for me too. I always ask about behavior, routines, and preferences ahead of time and spend the first day or two getting a read on what your pet is capable of and comfortable with. My goal is to help every animal feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for in a way that honors who they are. I work from home full time! I have several clients but the type of work allows me to be extremely flexible for your pets! I know while some pets can just hang out while I work, others may need more care, enrichment or a closer eye - I can and will accommodate accordingly. Just let me know what your pet needs ❤️ When sitting at your home I prefer to stick to the spaces your pets are most comfortable in or used to as well as stick to a similar routine. I find this helps with separation anxiety and any confusion the pets may have since their favorite human is gone! If possible, I like to take dogs for a longer walk on the first day to help us bond and help me learn how they behave. For other pets, this may look more like a longer playtime, enrichment activity, etc. I want to make sure they’re as comfortable as possible with me in their space so that first day is important to me!

About: I take my dogs for runs, and I travel with her some times! I love watching after dogs and being physical! Exercise is very important! Currently I live with family and they help take care of our animals as well and take my dog and cat for walks, we live in nature so they sun bathe and frolic . I can offer going to peoples houses and that means making sure they're well fed and entertained and just really taking care of them anyway they need. I've also had an animal that had surgery so I'm familiar with giving shots and pills as well!

FAQs for House Sitting - Swanton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 3,040 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Swanton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Swanton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Swanton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Swanton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Swanton. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
