I'm between jobs, so I have plenty of time to take care of your dog or cat. I love all animals and have spent many years volunteering at shelters and fostering dogs in addition to owning my own. I have experience with dogs of every size, age and temperament, and animals with medical conditions. I'm currently available Tuesdays-Thursdays, 9:30am-4:30pm, and have availability on Saturdays and Sundays. I can crate your dog if needed, and keep pets in their enclosures or other safe spaces. I can walk dogs, do potty breaks, refill food and water, practice basic commands (mental stimulation!), play, give lots of pets, clean litter, administer basic medications, etc.

About: I have taken care of pets for quite some time. I grew up on a farm, so I have been around all sorts of animals all my life. I recently moved back here to the valley from Santa Cruz. Will be here for a year or so. When I was in Santa Cruz I volunteer for the animal shelter there. I recently moved here from Santa Cruz, and will be starting work at the school in the fall, so I am looking to do some pet sitting, and dog walking, during the summer. About: I take my dogs for runs, and I travel with her some times! I love watching after dogs and being physical! Exercise is very important! Currently I live with family and they help take care of our animals as well and take my dog and cat for walks, we live in nature so they sun bathe and frolic . I can offer going to peoples houses and that means making sure they're well fed and entertained and just really taking care of them anyway they need. I've also had an animal that had surgery so I'm familiar with giving shots and pills as well!

About: I adopted my dog at 6 weeks old and he has not gotten out of the puppy phase until he was 4 years old. Throughout those years I've learned to redirect his attention onto something else using treats and words that he can understand. I handle more active/ hyper dogs well during walks and occasionally like to run with them too to burn some energy. Im currently a full- time student with the afternoons free everyday. I have no class on Tuesday and Thursday so I can my spend time with dogs full-time those days! As well as weekends. I like to prioritize enrichment/play and food when I care for a pet because feeding time varies based on each animal. Play time is also important because it's their enrichment time and it is what will tire the pet the best way possible at the end of the day. Play time also allows me to bond with the pet and enjoy my time doing so. I find it be the most rewarding part of taking care of pets.

She loved going on long walks by the river near her home in Connecticut. She also loved chewing on special bones I was permitted by her owner to give her. She required a weekly bath/shower which was messy but fun! A third example are Gracie and Monti, both medium sized rescues. Gracie had a lot of energy and walking was a must sometimes several times a day. She and I would go on long walks on trails and she enjoyed wading in water to cool off after a long walk. Monti on the other hand was a dignified little fellow. He was one to stop and smell the roses and everything along the way :) Monti had back surgery so needed to be lifted in and out of car and needed to be monitored so as to not jump up and re-injure his spine. Lastly, Jet Jet was a frisky rescue cat. He loved to play and cuddle and roll in fresh cat nip! I have cared for many more pets and their owners homes. About: What sets me apart is that caring for animals isn’t just something I do—it’s something I’ve lived my entire life. I grew up with a golden retriever named Arwen, and from 8th grade on, I was fully responsible for her walks, training, and care. I even started waking up an hour earlier every day just to make sure she got her morning walk in before school! Later, when I moved to the U.S. for college, I helped raise and train my roommate’s husky puppy, Ava, who struggled with separation anxiety. I’d take her to class, skate with her to tire her out, and help her stay calm and confident. It was like co-parenting a very energetic fur baby—and I loved every minute. I’ve cared for dogs of all ages and personalities—from hyper puppies to senior dogs with medical needs. My husband and I pet sat for two elderly Bichon Frises (17 years old!) every year while their owners traveled, carefully managing their diet, medications, and gentle exercise. I’ve also grown to love cats after living with Archie—my first real cat roommate—and have experience gently brushing, bonding, and caring for both indoor and stray cats (I even accidentally helped my mom adopt a kitten when I took in a stray!). About: I grew up with a house that always had at least one dog in it. I have always loved and been very comfortable with dogs of all shapes and sizes. I’ve dog walked and dog sat for neighbors since I was a young kid. I’m currently a college student at UCSC on summer vacation. Now that I’m home my schedule is very open and I’m hoping to use my free time to take care of dogs! I have two dogs and three cats living at my house currently.
