“Thank you so much!! Shep was thrilled to have you:) Appreciate you keeping me updated with everything and sending pictures! He can’t wait for you to walk him every week.”

“Elyse was so patient and kind to our Simba while he’s on the mend from a cough! She stepped in without much notice (24hrs) to help walk him. She took the time to get to know him before the drop in visit and got him comfortable as he’s a little puppy still. The visit went great! Simba was super excited to see her since she took the time to visit without a moments notice and she handled all instructions so well during the visit. She’s definitely someone you can trust and she goes above and beyond to make your puppy happy.”

About: I’ve had dogs all of my life. I got “my” first dog when I was 11. He was a Jack Russell named Patches and lived to be 15. In college, I got a terrier mix named Claire. She lived to be 16. After Claire passed, I adopted June Bug and Ryder, two lab mixes. Ryder and I trained to be a therapy dog team and worked in assisted living homes cheering up the residents. I have gone through many hours of training with both June Bug and Ryder and am considering working for a dog trainer when I retire from my teaching job. Ryder passed away in May 2026. I recently retired from the field of special education and I’m ready to care for four-legged babies! I know how stressful it can be to find someone to watch your babies or to board them, so I’d just like to help. That’s my main focus. My pups are my kids. I’ll treat yours like family too. I am a recently retired (but still young!) special educator so I am extremely flexible these days. I’ll keep my calendar up to date for availability. When I come to your home, I will treat it like my own. I am responsible enough to follow all directions you leave. I can administer oral medications, feed, check mail, water plants, etc
“This is my first time using a service to walk my dogs and didn’t know what to expect. Sophia is just incredible. She immediately put my family and my dogs at ease and has just been a blessing. She is a rockstar.”

About: I am a dog mom of 15 years! In addition to providing a safe, welcoming home for my own furbaby Tinky, I've also had experience with long term care of my sister's dog during necessary times. I have experience with medication, allergies, upset tummies, and all of the ups and downs that your baby may experience. I will treat your dog like I do mine, and they will get lots of cuddles, love, and attention. I look forward to welcoming your dog to their favorite home away from home! I'm currently working from home, so I will always be here during your pet's stay. If there is a time that I am away from home, it is usually no longer than 1-2 hours for errands or necessary appointments I have a sizable closed in patio where your dog can sit and enjoy the weather or sunbathe. The door will remain open at all times so they can choose when they're ready to come inside. If you prefer to crate your pet I have a crate available for use (just bring a pillow and blanket :) *I have 1 dog (Tinky) that will be in my home at all times.* The other dog attached to my profile will not be in the home, she is my sister's dog and is currently back home with her mommy :)
About: I've been taking care of animals a vast majority of my life. From fish and birds to dogs and cats. I have experience caring for animals in all stages of life. I also have prior experience working with all types of dogs, as I used to work at a professional daycare and boarding business as a room attendant. There I was a keyholder, prepped dog food and meds, as well as picked up after any messes without any difficulty. I live with two dogs myself, and watch them for my roommate when he goes out of town. I do have cats that don't mind dogs too much. I have a fenced in back yard and a dog door that goes out to the back as well. I love working with my own cats, as well as the fur babies of others to better understand dog, cat, and general animal behaviors. I love animals, so getting to work with them fuels said love. I treat all animals as if they’re mine. I believe in positive reinforcement training, as well as redirecting misbehavior to something more entertaining for both me and the pet.

About: I have a huge passion for animals especially dogs and cats. I grew up with a dog and had her for 14 years and when I got older around 9-10, I was mostly in charge of walking, feeding, bathing, and her overall care. She meant the world to me and I loved her tremendously. Friends/extended family see that I have an immediate love, bond, and trust with their pets. I always interact with them with care and affection. I recently saved an abandoned cat and took care of him until I found him a new loving home. I'm currently a college student completing my nursing prerequisites. My class schedule is flexible, so I'm available most mornings and afternoons throughout the week. I always communicate my availability clearly and do my best to accommodate each pet owner's schedule! Your pet's safety is my top priority. I always keep a close eye on the pets I'm taking care of and follow each owner's instructions carefully. During walks, I make sure dogs are securely leashed at all times, and if they are in a fenced yard, I watch them to make sure they stay safe and comfortable.
About: I’m experienced with senior dogs and cats. I love animals and I’d love the opportunity to care for your babies! Allow me to help you! I am retired and I’d love to fill my day/ evenings with caring for your fur babies! I’d love the opportunity to care for them! I will do as you instruct me. Your babies will miss you, but not miss being loved and cared for. You set for their needs.

About: I treat every dog like family, providing reliable, loving, and personalized care. I'm patient with puppies, gentle with senior dogs, and always keep owners updated with photos and messages. My schedule is very flexible, and I have plenty of availability for pet care. I am available every day except Wednesdays and Sundays. I provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for every pet in my care. I have a fully fenced backyard where dogs can play and exercise safely under supervision. I currently have two cats and one dog, so I'm very familiar with caring for animals and understand the importance of maintaining their routines. Whether I'm caring for pets in my home or a client's home, I follow each pet's specific instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and any special care to help them feel comfortable and well cared for.
“This was the second time we hired Layla and it won't be the last. We've now used her for both boarding and dog walking. When our bluetick hound boarded with her, she came home happy and healthy. Layla is easy to work with and a timely communicator.”

About: What sets me apart is my hands-on experience working in veterinary animal hospitals and professional pet care facilities. I've cared for dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments — from playful puppies to senior dogs needing extra patience and attention. I'm trained in safe handling, basic grooming (bathing, nail trims, ear cleaning), and administering medications. Beyond technical skills, I genuinely love animals and treat every dog like family. My background gives me the confidence to manage unexpected situations calmly and with care, so pet parents can have peace of mind Pet care is a natural part of my daily life. With my experience in animal hospitals and boarding facilities, I’m used to a routine centered around feeding, walking, grooming, and monitoring animal health. Whether I’m working or at home, caring for animals brings me joy and structure. I prioritize consistency, so pets feel safe and loved — whether it’s a daily walk, playtime, or just keeping them company. Pet care isn’t just something I do; it’s something I genuinely enjoy and make time for every day. Whether I’m in my home or a client’s, I make sure each pet gets personalized, attentive care. I stick to their normal routines to help them feel secure and relaxed. I provide regular walks, feeding, playtime, and lots of affection. I'm also trained to safely administer medications, including pills and topical treatments, and I keep a close eye on pets' behavior and well-being. Whether it’s a dog or a cat, I create a calm, caring environment so they feel comfortable and loved while you're away.
About: I’ve cared for dogs since I was 7 years old. I have a very active lifestyle— enjoy taking dogs for walks and spending time outside I have very few commitments and I am able to provide your pet with my undivided attention. I’m currently working full time during the week but I have very few commitments in the evenings or on weekends. My preference would be to provide care on weekends, but I could be flexible if care was necessary during the week. I have the utmost respect for my clients’ and their pets’ environment. I recognize that I am entering their space and I make the greatest effort to make my visits or walks as pleasant as possible. I closely follow the care instructions and leave things as I found them.
“Keena is awesome and our pups love her! She always sends pics and updates so that we don’t have to stress about leaving the pups behind! She is great and we request her every time!”

Kayla was a last minute booking to have her come and walk our dog around noon because my husband and I were at work all day. She was on time, extremely responsive and gave a very detailed report after the walk. We will DEFINITELY be using her again. Thanks again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
