About: I can’t imagine living a life without being a dog mom. I’ve had dogs since my childhood and practically my entire adult life. I’ve had heartbreak from losing them because they were so loved. I’m retired and home mostly except for when I travel. I’m available to walk dogs and to play with them in fenced yard. I have a soft spot for all animals. My dog Holly is mostly an inside dog but always has access to fenced backyard through doggie door. The same would apply for any dogs I care for.

About: I taken care when I was very young even taking care of ill/sick animals. I'll nurse them back to health when vets couldn't do it. I bottle feed and take them to the restroom when they are babies. I been taking care since 10 years old. I'm very open with my schedule and love to be around animals. I work from home working as a editor and have lots of free time. I have a gate area for all animals. I always have them on a leash and make sure we walk in the morning or evening. It's too hot for their paws if you have booties for them even great. Always have water on me and poop bags. I never have anything laying around for them to eat or play with. I'm always outside with them when need to go potty and play.

About: I have a 7 year old ‘puppy’ Jaxon who is my reason for loving dogs so much. I often pet sit for my family for their 2 labs, and my sister in law’s beagle. It’s important to me as a dog mom & travel lover that my own dog feels at home with whomever he stays with when I travel & I want to offer you that same peace of mind and comfort. I am attentive to each dog’s needs and make sure that they receive enough exercise and play time so that they are happy and occupied. As they say, a good dog is a tired dog! I’ll make sure your pupp receives all the exercise and attention they need. :) I currently make my own schedule, so I have plenty of time to care for your pupps. I can be available for multiple drop-ins, for walks, structured play time & potty breaks. I offer drop-in visits. I am happy to stop by and walk your dog multiple times a day, depending on their needs and energy level. I’m used to my high energy dog, who needs lots of exercise and play - he loves fetch. I am willing to care for your dog as if they are my own, making sure they get all the attention & love they need :)

Cassidy is absolutely amazing! I cannot recommend a better pet sitter. From the very beginning, I felt completely comfortable trusting her with my pup. She cared for her in my home for a full week, checking in twice a day and even staying overnight when needed. Cassidy is thoughtful, reliable, and incredibly detail-oriented. My pup was happy, well cared for, and honestly a little spoiled with her new routine! It gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. Cassidy is a wonderful, hardworking, and genuinely kind person. If you’re looking for someone to care for your pet as if they were her own, don’t hesitate to book her. She is truly exceptional. :)

About: Hi, I’m Ismara! 🐾 I’m a lifelong animal lover with 20+ years of hands on experience caring for pets of all kinds. I’m based in Big Bear and the Coachella Valley, and I know how important it is to find someone trustworthy, attentive, and loving when it comes to your pets. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I truly enjoy getting to know each pet’s unique personality, routine, and needs. Whether your pet is playful, shy, energetic, elderly, or has special care instructions, my goal is always to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m also the proud co-owner of Pawsitive Patrol LLC, a local pet waste management business. Pet care is a part of my everyday life, and my experience has taught me the importance of responsibility, cleanliness, reliability, and paying attention to the little details that keep pets happy and healthy. A little about what I offer: 🐾 20+ years of hands-on pet care experience 🐾 Loving, individualized attention for every pet 🐾 Experience with feeding schedules, walks, medications, and special requests 🐾 Comfortable caring for pets in your home or mine 🐾 A secure fenced deck at my home for safe outdoor time, sunbathing, and play I also have experience caring for reptiles and amphibians and have some of my own! I absolutely love unique animals and would be excited to care for your scaly, feathered, or unusual family members too. From reptiles and birds to chickens and other special pets, I think every animal deserves the same patience, attention, and love. As a small business owner, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to truly focus on the pets in my care. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment because I understand that your pets aren’t just animals — they’re family. I would love the opportunity to meet your pets and become someone you can trust whenever you need care! 🐶🐱🦎 As the owner of a local pet waste management business “Pawsitive Patrol” I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to truly focus on giving your pets the attention, care, and love they deserve! 🩷 🐈🐕🦜🦎🐟 I have a fenced back deck for your pups to run around and sunbathe at my home. But I also have no problem taking care of your pet at your own home.

Melissa was willing to help me out with a last minute request when other plans fell through. I was staying in Sugarloaf for a ski weekend and the person I had lined up to walk my puppy, Alfie, canceled his Sunday walk on Saturday. I reached out to Melissa Saturday afternoon to see if she could help, and she responded almost immediately. During their walk, Alfie was so curious about the smells on the walk that he forgot to go potty. Melissa stayed long enough to make sure that he went. She was awesome. 100% recommend.

About: Hello! As a devoted dog mom myself, I understand the importance of trust, safety, and individualized attention for every fur baby. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or special care needs, I’ll treat your furry friend like family! I’ve been blessed to have pets in my family my entire life. I adopted my own large pup three years ago and I adopted my kitty in 2014. I trained my puppy and have also trained my cat (yes, it’s possible). I am good with all dog sizes and all cats! I’m currently working full-time but I have a flexible schedule. I can work around the needs of your fur baby! I am free most early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Long walks, extra cuddles, and lots of love. My fur-babies are my children. They are so spoiled and I carry myself the same way in caring for others!

About: Since I was born there was always a dog in the house. I have grown up with dogs wether they were mine or my other relatives. I have grown such love for not only dogs but other animals as well. I have had bunnies to hamsters to fishes all throughout my life! I just recently moved to the area and while I search for employment, I would love to walk your dogs🥰 I love animals so I thought this would be perfect for me! I do not currently plan to house others animals at my home because I do have two fur babies of my own. I do have a full backyard that is all fenced it though.

About: I have taken care of family and friends' dogs since I was a child. I have been relied on as a dog sitter, dog walker, and caregiver for animals for the last decade and longer. I am a certified puppy sitter for service dogs in the CCI program, as well as have experience with grooming animals, young puppies, and lots of play time. I am currently going to college part-time online, so I have very open availability to play with the pups. I have morning classes only a couple times a week and will be available Monday-Sunday between 8 AM - 8 PM (dependent on sundown). I can provide a variety of care depending on the needs of the dogs and their person. I have no dogs of my own at the moment, so I am able to give undivided attention to the clients dogs and puppies. I know that every dog and owner have different training methods and house rules, so I am adaptable to their needs.

About: I am a whole-hearted dog lover, who understands how hard it is to take vacations or even work long hours without the chance to make time to give your dog the love and care they need and deserve while you're away. Let me take care of your pet while you take time away from home. With my care, I assure you, you will come home to a happy dog! Big Bear offers so many opportunities to get our dogs outdoors, where they can get lots of stimulation and playtime. I have experience parenting my own dog, extended family’s dogs as well as friends’, and clients’ pets as well. I’ve administered medications, adhered to schedules and even been a “puppy midwife”. I understand how important our furry family members are, and I wouldn’t leave my own dog with just anyone. I know how wonderful it is to have peace of mind, and I always take that into consideration while spending time with your pet.

I work from home and have the flexibility of scheduling work around my fury friends! I am available to accept any pets starting at 8am on weekdays and weekends. We take 1-2 walks each day. Your pet is allowed on furniture, so my home will become their home comfortably. I have a large backyard that is fully enclosed. About: I worked at a veterinarian for 3 years as a kennel assistant, receptionist, and vet assistant. For a brief 6 months I worked at a small organic pet food store. I also worked at a dog daycare for 3 years as a yard attendant and front desk lead. I can take care of any of your pets needs! Working in the veterinary field gave me the fundamentals of animal care. Working at a pet store that promotes optimizing your pets diet for their needs compliments the medical background I have with dogs to encourage overall healthy living. The dog daycare gave me my overall understanding of socialization between dogs and recognizing unfavorable behavior to prevent any injuries during play time. I love enjoying the outdoors with dogs!

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Sugarloaf stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
