“Betty is awesome!!! I have had her scheduled for daily walks for my puppy since I started my new job. She is always prompt and brings her on nice long walks, no matter the weather. I love getting pictures and updates everyday! She is super flexible and very accommodating when I have a surprise day off or surprise over time and need to cancel or add an extra walk. Definitely recommend!!”

“John has been amazing and Nanuk loves him. He takes him out for nice walks and sends pics and updates that warm my heart. He’s so gentle and caring with my little guy.”

“Megan was the best! She was so communicative throughout the two days she watched my dogs and was able to accommodate last minute dinner requests for them! I enjoyed my trip knowing that my dogs were in good hands! HIGHLY recommend!”

About: I’ve always been good with animals. My family has been raising dogs since I was a little kid and I really love all our pets. I work part time, usually in the afternoons/night. This would be something good for me to do during the day to keep working and staying busy. I have been walking my dogs and taking care of them since I was 9. I’ve always been responsible for cleaning up after them and keeping them safe. I’d do the same for any dog I’d walk or let out.

“Renee has cared for my 10 month old Doberman puppy for 5 months now on weeks when I am in office. She is quick to respond, highly communicative, and flexible with my puppy’s changing medical needs. I can tell that Renee cares about what she does, and it’s been a huge relief to find someone who can confidently handle my high energy pup. I’ve used a few dog walkers due to various scheduling needs, and Renee has been our favorite 🐶 I recommend her for all your doggy’s care needs!”

“Nathan & Meredith are amazing! From arranging meet & greet, communications through app, and the thoughtful notes after every walk, they are really caring to your pets. My dog enjoys spending time with them so much!”

“Max is awesome! She is sweet with my doggy, she leaves messages every time she walks him to update me and takes lots of pictures. She has also befriended my shy cats! Thankful to have her take care of my babies;)”

“Erikah was great with my parents’ dog and easy to work with prior and after the walk. I appreciated that she did a meet and greet. I manage my parents Rover account from afar and it’s sometimes hard to find walkers who are so responsive and nice.”

About: Hi everyone! My name's Shirl and I am hoping to make your life a bit easier by taking away the stress of leaving your pup behind while you're away. I have been pet sitting for over 12 years; I used to have dogs come board with me while owners went away, but I've found that most owners prefer their pets to stay in the comfort of their own home. I have years of experience doing overnight pet sitting, but unfortunately my growing family (3 dogs and a cat of my own) no longer allows for me to stay away from home overnight. I am happy to provide multiple daily visits and/or walks! My goal is to keep your pet as comfortable as possible while you're away, by keeping their daily routine as close to "normal" as possible. I've cared for all types of pets including dogs, cats, bunnies, chicks, quail, lizards, fish, etc.! I am an experienced dog handler/ animal lover at heart. I worked at/managed a doggie day care/boarding facility for 4 years, learning from a very experienced trainer who focuses on positive reinforcement techniques ONLY. During my time there, I had opportunities to complete trainings to understand dog behaviors and body language. I have volunteered at BARCS as a dog walker/foster, working primarily with bully breeds. Why I love dog sitting I have been an animal lover my entire life. From playing with salamanders as a kid, to growing up with cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes; I've also had bunnies, fish, frogs, hermit crabs, hamsters, birds...the list goes on! I couldn't imagine a life without animals in it. My experience administering medication Yes. Working at a dog boarding facility for nearly 2 years I have had to give many forms of medications, and my personal pets also take oral medications. I am not trained to give injections. My full time job allows me to work from home majority of the week. That makes it easy for me to swing by for a visit at different times of the day. The latest drop in I can provide is 7pm. I am happy to provide updates as soon as I arrive, during the stay, and as I leave. For dog walks, I prefer not to introduce any dog that I’m handling to another dog passing by. This ensures everyone’s safety.
About: I’ve always had a soft spot for senior dogs and pets that need a little extra patience, attention, or understanding. I’ve participated in shelter skip days at the SPCA, and I’m almost always drawn to the older dogs. That’s just where my heart is. I genuinely enjoy taking things at their pace, helping them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’m also a huge cat person. Whether your cat is social and playful or more reserved and independent, I’m happy to meet them where they are and make sure they feel relaxed while you’re away. I understand that every pet has a different personality, routine, and comfort level. I know how important trust is when someone is caring for your pets, and I try to be the kind of sitter I’d want for my own animals, responsive, dependable, calm, and genuinely caring. Whether it’s walks, drop-ins, medication routines, companionship, or just giving your pet some extra love and attention, I’m happy to help. Pet care is the perfect fit for my current life schedule. I took early retirement from my day job just so I could provide pet services. It’s way less stressful and more rewarding. I can provide overnight care for a dog in my home as well as provide drip in visits and walks. I can do extended drop in visits for cats so they have a chance to get to know me.
About: I have been a consistent volunteer with multiple shelters and a pet sitter over the past 4 years taking care of animals of different backgrounds. I'm currently preparing to leave for college and have a lot of time to spend with your dogs throughout the summer (weekends and weekdays available)! I can provide leashes (slip lead and clip), doggy bags, and a travel water bowl (all if needed) in order to provide your dog with the best and safest experience possible.
About: I’ve taken care of family and friends’ dogs throughout the past few years. I provided whatever they needed whether that was feeding, walking, or playing. I’m currently working a part time restaurant job that never ends later than 10:30 pm. So I will have plenty of time to take care of pets overnight and during the day. I provide reliable, attentive care in my client’s homes by following routines, offering playtime and affection, administering medications as needed, and keeping owners updated regularly.

About: I’ve spent my entire life living with cats and caring for them. I also spent last year living with a service dog in training and caring for him I currently have an internship at UD throughout the summer. I am available both before work and after work to care for pets. I can provide walking, feeding, playing, and just company for animals. I I will give your pets my full attention, spend time with them, and care for them however they may need. I will make sure the pets are in fantastic care.

“Paul and his fiancée do a great job with my Husky. My dog normally doesn’t enjoy other humans, and he loses his appetite when I travel. But Paul’s energy didn’t bring any of those concerns out.”

About: Hi my name is Rachel i’m 21 years old looking for pet owners who need pet assistance. I’m currently studying business at del tech community college and i’m a third year. I have babysat dogs and cats before and overnight sat as well. I enjoy being around animals they make me happy. I also own a doggie named Teddy of my own he’s 6 years old and he’s a shitzu. Caring for a pet requires consistency, time management, and attention to their physical and emotional needs. Depending on the type of pet, daily tasks may include feeding, providing fresh water, exercising, grooming, cleaning living spaces, and monitoring health and behavior. I walk my dog Teddy, a shitzu everyday twice and he doesn’t have an open yard. Caring for pets at a clients home depend on the space and environment.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
