Betty is awesome!!! I have had her scheduled for daily walks for my puppy since I started my new job. She is always prompt and brings her on nice long walks, no matter the weather. I love getting pictures and updates everyday! She is super flexible and very accommodating when I have a surprise day off or surprise over time and need to cancel or add an extra walk. Definitely recommend!!

About: I have taken care of many animals and give the best care I can while sharing pictures and updates to the owner. I can work with food motivated animals to do simple tricks. I am starting college shortly but I still will dedicate as much time as I can to taking care of animals. Breaks and days I don't have classes will be for anyone needing pet care! I have a car and can go to clients' houses and take care of their pets, as I have done often for friends and neighbors. I have a partially fenced yard for leashed play. I am in a house under construction but the top floor is finished and houses my two kittens. Calmer dogs would be better if coming into my house, otherwise I am able to care for any size or personality in the owners house.

About: I’ve always had a furry friend by my side, since as long as I could remember. I provide reliable, patient, and personalized care to each pet I care for. I love both dogs and cats, no matter breed, size, or personality, I always make sure they’re safe and comfortable. As a responsible pet sitter/walker, I keep owners updated and follow routine in order to keep your pet happy and loved while you’re away:) Pet care fits easily into my routine because I have a flexible weekday schedule. I’m currently a student at Wilmington University, while balancing mutiple side incomes as a 23 year old in today’s world. I’m available throughout the week for walks or drop-in visits, and I can adjust my schedule to meet each pet's needs. I care for every pet like they're my own. I follow their usual routine, make sure they have food, water, exercise, and lots of attention, and I always follow the owner's instructions. My priority is keeping your pets safe, happy, and comfortable.

Jenni had contacted me to let me know that she was on her way for our dogs’ walk. She took pics of them to show us that she was at our home with the dogs. I had told her about the route the dogs were use to taking and she showed us the map of the route. The dogs were good for her out on the walk. When they got home they were well tired enough and curled up for a nap. I look forward to having Jenni come walk them again!

About: I grew up with two dogs, Lucy and Tula, and I love them so very much! I had to help walk, feed, and play with them all of the time. They have very different personalities, so I am used to the high energy, crazy pups, as well as the more timid ones that may need to warm up to me for a little bit! Our family now has adopted a new little mixed puppy named Jack who is absolutely filled with energy and excitement all of the time. I am currently a college student, so I have classes mostly in the mornings, but my schedule is fairly flexible and I can walk your pups when I'm not in class! I can walk your dogs around your neighborhood or somewhere else in town, whatever works best. I'm looking forward to spending time with your furry friends, whether it is just playing with them or walking them!

About: Animals are Gods among us. I agree with Ricky Gervais, that "a dog loves you more than it loves itself, and that's why I worship dogs." Honestly, this gig is a bit selfish - my sweet baby Pit Mix passed away recently & I miss her terribly. I'm certain that engaging with animals will soothe this depression. I am socially awkward with humans, but I love animals. This will be therapy, a true gift, to me. I also need to exercise more and would like to be able to afford any kind of home, some day. My family has had pets since I was in kindergarten. I volunteered with Faithful Friends in High School, through which I also fostered kittens. I have taken care of my neighbors' & friends' pets while away over the years, which I equate to a collective total of ~2 years. I take medical issues very seriously & cared for my doll when she was ill. I understand how stressful & important it is. My favorite thing about walking a dog is when the folded tops of their ears bounce up and down. I work full time until ~4:30PM, but I am usually free after. I am available for boarding on the weekends. On the days I work from home (typically Monday & Wednesday), I can also provide a walk or check in during my lunch hour (1 to 2PM). There are no other animals or children in my home; your pet will have my undivided attention. I have a large partially fenced in yard, and many walking trails nearby. I'm also happy to take care of a pet in your home, if preferred.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and can’t imagine life without them! I previously had a pug who lived to 14 years, and now I have two Frenchies who are my absolute favorite things in the world. Because of this, I have experience with both senior care and the special needs that come with brachycephalic breeds. I’ve also helped neighbors and family friends by walking and caring for their dogs, so I’m used to handling different personalities and energy levels. What sets me apart is how much I truly enjoy spending time with dogs—whether that means going for a walk, playing, or just giving them love and attention. I treat every dog as if they were my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while in my care. I enjoy spending time with pets as I would with my friends, I always make sure they’re content and taken care of so there’s is no stress on the owners side, they’re always in good hands with me! As a student, I have some flexibility in my day. I have breaks throughout the week that allow me to stop by for walks or drop-ins, and my afternoons are free depending on the day of the week. I’m also available on weekends, making it easy to fit pet care into my routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. If there’s a fenced yard, I’m happy to run around and play with your dog, but I also love going on walks for exercise and fresh air. I make sure to follow any instructions you provide, keep a close eye on them, and give them plenty of love and attention so you can feel confident they’re well cared for.

About: I have had animals all of my life. Love Dogs, big and small, Cats finicky and cuddly. I have taken care of special needs animals and have managed medications as well as shots and measuring blood sugar. Currently I have two rescue Greyhounds and a Jack Russell Terrier, basically 2 couch potatoes and a WonderDog who never stops chasing a stick. Last but not least I have Sage, a 15-year-old grey tabby who looks really good for her age and puts the Pups in their place. In any event I am looking forward to meeting your pets in the near future. ~Regards, Kelli I am currently semi-retired and have all of the time in the world. In other words my schedule is quite flexible, so I am able to work around yours. Although I do not offer pet sitting in my home, I am able to accommodate any needs or schedule for your pets in your home. I am also able to transport your pets in my SUV for Park, Veterinary visits etc..

About: Hi everyone! My name's Shirl and I am hoping to make your life a bit easier by taking away the stress of leaving your pup behind while you're away. I have been pet sitting for over 12 years; I used to have dogs come board with me while owners went away, but I've found that most owners prefer their pets to stay in the comfort of their own home. I have years of experience doing overnight pet sitting, but unfortunately my growing family (3 dogs and a cat of my own) no longer allows for me to stay away from home overnight. I am happy to provide multiple daily visits and/or walks! My goal is to keep your pet as comfortable as possible while you're away, by keeping their daily routine as close to "normal" as possible. I've cared for all types of pets including dogs, cats, bunnies, chicks, quail, lizards, fish, etc.! I am an experienced dog handler/ animal lover at heart. I worked at/managed a doggie day care/boarding facility for 4 years, learning from a very experienced trainer who focuses on positive reinforcement techniques ONLY. During my time there, I had opportunities to complete trainings to understand dog behaviors and body language. I have volunteered at BARCS as a dog walker/foster, working primarily with bully breeds. Why I love dog sitting I have been an animal lover my entire life. From playing with salamanders as a kid, to growing up with cats and dogs of all shapes and sizes; I've also had bunnies, fish, frogs, hermit crabs, hamsters, birds...the list goes on! I couldn't imagine a life without animals in it. My experience administering medication Yes. Working at a dog boarding facility for nearly 2 years I have had to give many forms of medications, and my personal pets also take oral medications. I am not trained to give injections. My full time job allows me to work from home majority of the week. That makes it easy for me to swing by for a visit at different times of the day. The latest drop in I can provide is 7pm. I am happy to provide updates as soon as I arrive, during the stay, and as I leave. For dog walks, I prefer not to introduce any dog that I’m handling to another dog passing by. This ensures everyone’s safety.

About: I’m new to the area and excited to be living on the East Coast! I’ve spent my entire life around animals, and about 10 years ago I ran a successful pet-sitting business on the West Coast. I’m excited to get back to doing something I genuinely love. Over the years, I’ve cared for a wide variety of animals—dogs, cats, hamsters, hedgehogs, lizards, snakes, horses, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, and plenty of others. I’m comfortable with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities, from Pit Bulls to Chihuahuas and everything in between. I’m also comfortable caring for senior pets, puppies, anxious pets, animals with special needs, and pets who need medications. The one exception? Spiders. (((shudder))) Never spiders. I know every animal has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I’m happy to follow your instructions and care for your pets the way you do. Whether your pet needs a brief visit or several hours of companionship, I’m happy to tailor each visit to their needs. Walks, meals, medication, playtime, or simply some company—I’m happy to give your pets the attention they deserve. At this time, I’m offering check-in visits only and am not able to provide overnight care. I have a special-needs rescue dog of my own who cannot be left alone overnight. However, I can make as many visits during the day as your pets need and can stay for as long as necessary during each visit. I have plenty of references from previous pet-sitting clients and am happy to provide them upon request. I understand that trusting someone with your pets - and your home - is a big deal, and I want you to feel comfortable knowing they’re in good hands while you’re away. My goal is to make sure your pets are safe, happy, comfortable, and cared for just as you would want. My #1 priority is to provide loving care when you’re not there. I’m available all day, seven days a week—including holidays. I’m happy to accommodate early mornings, late nights, and even last-minute requests. I can work with your schedule. When I’m in a client’s home, I make it a priority to follow the pet’s normal routine and schedule. This helps ease the anxiety of having someone new in their space while their parents are away. I also respect your privacy—I know how it feels to have someone go through your belongings, and I could never imagine violating that trust.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Strickersville. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Strickersville.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Strickersville. On Rover:

  • 96% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
