“Kathleen is amazing! I was nervous as I’d never left my kitten for longer than a day before, but she treated Gnocchi like her own. She updated me with pictures and videos and gave her so many snuggles. My cat definitely had the time of her life and I will be booking with Kathleen again!”

“Valentina is so nice, sweet, and caring! It was such a great fit. I really appreciated how she took the time to give me updates and send pics while I was away. It gave me such peace of mind. I will definitely be booking again.”

“Roberta and Travis were great to work with. Fast communication and our NOAA was happy and exhausted at pick up! She played with their pup Marshall and came home a very content pup! We will definitely use them again in the future!”

“Lola returned for her 2nd stay with Aeli. Again was a terrific experience from drop off to pick up. There is no doubt Lola enjoyed her stay and was very well taken care of. Thank you Aeli for caring for our Lola!!! Would definitely book another stay with Aeli.”

About: I grew up with both dogs and cats, and caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I have hands-on experience caring for dogs belonging to friends, family members, and clients—including dogs with anxiety, especially while their owners are traveling. Many of these dogs had previously stayed in large commercial boarding facilities where multiple dogs share the same space, which often increased their stress and anxiety. I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference a calm home environment and personalized one-on-one attention can make. I am also certified in American Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid, so I’m prepared to respond in case of an emergency and provide attentive care for your pets. I focus on patience, consistency, and gentle, loving care to help each dog feel safe, comfortable, and secure. With dedicated attention and companionship, I’ve watched anxious dogs gradually become more relaxed and confident—sometimes they even seem reluctant to leave! :) I’m home full-time to care for your pup. This means your dog will receive plenty of attention, regular walks, and consistent, loving care throughout the day. I have the time and flexibility to focus on your dog’s individual needs, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for during their stay. I keep my schedule flexible, but I only care for one dog at a time to provide the best possible experience. Because of this, spots can fill quickly—especially during holidays—so please plan and book in advance. Located in a quiet, friendly neighborhood, my home is designed to provide comfort, security, and plenty of room for your dog to relax and play. Your pup will enjoy a park-like backyard—nearly half an acre—fully fenced for safe exploration and outdoor fun. Whether they love to run, sniff, or simply lounge in the sun, there’s plenty of space to feel at home. In the summer, I also set up a dog-friendly swimming pool so they can cool off and have some extra fun. I share my home with a very friendly 9-year-old Black Lab who is gentle, well-socialized, and enjoys calm companionship with other dogs. To ensure every dog gets the attention, care, and comfort they deserve, I typically host only one dog at a time (with a maximum of two during holidays). This allows me to focus on your dog’s individual needs and create a low-stress, personalized experience. Your dog will be treated like family here—safe, happy, and well cared for every step of the way.
“Celeste did an amazing job taking care of my greyhound. Jolteon is terrified of cars and Celeste went way out of the way to make sure my pup was comfortable and safe. She gave him his medication without any difficulty at all. Her price is great for the care that she provides. I highly recommend booking Celeste to take care of your animals. I will be using her services be again very soon.”

“Diana is friendly, caring, responsible and she is a great dog sitter. She sent photos and videos everyday and went above and beyond to take care of my shiba inu. In addition, her dog Wendy was a wonderdul playmate for my shiba. She provided a safe, clean and fun environment for the care of my dog.”

“Craig took excellent of my dog Tucker. Craig’s large fenced in back yard was so thrilling to Tucker that he was very tired after the visit. I will be using Craig again on a regular basis. Thanks so much Craig”

“Danae is so responsible, friendly, understanding and careful dog sitter! She took care of my small pug, as if it was her own dog. We definitely will return to her! Strongly recommend to everyone.”

“Donna was amazing with my dog Taz! She was able to watch Taz for a few days on very short notice. Donna was so accommodating and loving to Taz. 100% recommend Donna and family Your pet will be in great and loving hands.”

“Jessica was so amazing!! I felt so confident with my sweet girl Daisy being in her and her daughter’s hands. She got so much love and care. Jessica was so in tune with her needs and incredible at communicating with me. I could tell Daisy was so happy and comfortable. Highly recommend Jessica!”

“This was the first time our 2 girls Juniper and Honey have ever stayed overnight anywhere since we rescued them 5 years ago. We felt confident having Carolina watching our girls. Prior to their stay we did a meet and greet. Carolina has a very calm demeanor, and we were very confident that the girls would be comfortable in her home. She sent us pictures and gave us updates of how they were doing, which was nice. When we picked them up they were very happy, so we'll definitely be using her services again.”

“Hope is the best! She took in our 1 year old Labrador retriever for a week. We felt very comfortable with Hope right from the start and could tell she truly loves dogs. Booking with Hope was so easy, she is quick to respond and very accommodating. She took great care in listening to our instructions and any concerns we had with our energetic dog. We received pictures and text updates everyday, which let us really relax and enjoy our time away. Hope, you are awesome!! Thank you so much!!”
“Michelle took wonderful care if our two Cavaliers. We needed to board our dogs last minute and she was able to accommodate us. The photo updates were great and they had plenty of puppy and human friends to play with. Will definitely bring the dogs back!”
“I got a good first impression of Robyn when I met her - she’s really warm and friendly. My dog has separation anxiety and gets really nervous when she’s away from our family, but she was relaxed and happy when we picked her up. Robyn is a wonderful pet sitter who took excellent care of my dog! We’ll definitely have her sit again next time we’re in town.”
About: I grew up in a dog‑loving home and had the privilege of caring for several breeds over the years — first a Boxer, then a Siberian Husky, later a German Shepherd/Malamute mix, and eventually a Pomeranian. Being around such different personalities taught me how to understand dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Because of that experience, family, neighbors, and friends have always trusted me to check in on their pets, feed them, play with them, and make sure they feel safe and cared for. No one will be assisting me with care. I also accept rabbits and small pets for boarding. Owners must provide cage, food, and supplies. Because I work from home, I’m able to give your dog consistent attention and care all day long. Whether it’s playtime, potty breaks, or just keeping them company, I’m always close by. I also offer 24/7 boarding availability, ensuring your pet has a safe, supervised environment at all times. Your dog will have plenty of room to feel at home here. I live on an acre of land with a dog run and a peaceful neighborhood that’s ideal for daily walks. There’s even a small pond with geese right across the street, which many dogs find entertaining. Inside, the living room is designated as comfortable, pet‑friendly space where your dog can relax. I also provide a crate for dogs who prefer a cozy, enclosed sleeping area.

“Our dog has stayed with Nina and Augustine many times and she is incredibly happy there. They treat their boarding dogs like cherished members of the family! Our dog Daisy used to be hesitant about staying with someone else and would cling to me. Now when we walk up to Nina and Augustine's house she's pulling at the leash and pawing at the door to try to get inside! They are trustworthy, reliable, and so great about communication and sending photos. I would without hesitation recommend them for dog boarding or any animal care.”

“I’ve used Liz multiple times for my golden retriever and will continue using her for pet sitting. My dog always enjoys staying there. Liz is very accommodating and always sends pictures/updates each day.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Spring Valley
Valentina took great care of my dog, Nubya! She was responsive and friendly throughout all of our communication and shared frequent updates with pictures. It's clear from talking to her that Valentina loves dogs and I am so glad to have found her for when we need someone to watch Nubya!

Ana was wonderful. She was very concerned about my dogs needs and asked many questions to make sure that she could give him the best possible care. She was an excellent communicator and sent many pictures of my dog who was very happy. I will absolutely use her again.

My family and I were very happy leaving our kitten with Nicole. Our kitten was happy there and got acclimated with Nicole and her family very quickly, seeing as he had never spent time with anyone else before. This showed us they gave our kitten as much love as we do. I would definitely recommend Nicole and we will be asking her to keep our kitten again if she is available. Thank you again Nicole!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
