“Lisa was very kind and caring with my Junie. She sent me texts and pictures and I was put at ease immediately. I would definitely recommend her and look forward to using her services again.”

“We love bringjng our girl to see Jocelyn! She always has a great time and comes back a very happy pup. Jocelyn is communicative and we have great piece of mind when our dog is in her care”

“First time we ever had to leave for a whole month and could not take Hattie with us. So happy to have found Nina and Augustine. Their little family took Hattie right in and gave her a home away from home. Hattie and Clementine just hit it off too. Constant photos and videos of Hattie that made us wonder if she might get bored when we took her back home. If you are looking for a relaxed family atmosphere for your dog with a built in playmate in a safe place look no further. Recommend very highly.”

About: I grew up in a dog‑loving home and had the privilege of caring for several breeds over the years — first a Boxer, then a Siberian Husky, later a German Shepherd/Malamute mix, and eventually a Pomeranian. Being around such different personalities taught me how to understand dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Because of that experience, family, neighbors, and friends have always trusted me to check in on their pets, feed them, play with them, and make sure they feel safe and cared for. No one will be assisting me with care. I also accept rabbits and small pets for boarding. Owners must provide cage, food, and supplies. Because I work from home, I’m able to give your dog consistent attention and care all day long. Whether it’s playtime, potty breaks, or just keeping them company, I’m always close by. I also offer 24/7 boarding availability, ensuring your pet has a safe, supervised environment at all times. Your dog will have plenty of room to feel at home here. I live on an acre of land with a dog run and a peaceful neighborhood that’s ideal for daily walks. There’s even a small pond with geese right across the street, which many dogs find entertaining. Inside, the living room is designated as comfortable, pet‑friendly space where your dog can relax. I also provide a crate for dogs who prefer a cozy, enclosed sleeping area.
“Thank you so much. Kevin and his family are really kind and welcoming. It was clear that they took great care of our pup. Great communication throughout Jax’s stay with them. We will repeat for sure”

“Grace was excellent with our dog, Leni. He had some serious separation anxiety when we dropped him off and went on a hunger strike for several days. Not only did Grace keep us hell informed, she went above and beyond in trying to make Leni feel comfortable in her home and went as far as spoon feeding him to get him to eat. We're so thankful for all that she did to take care of Leni. I would highly recommend Grace to anyone looking for a loving and caring home in which to leave their pup while traveling. Thank you, Grace!!”

“Absolutely Incredible Dog Sitter! We couldn’t be happier with the care our Lia received while we were away. Maxine kept us updated which only confirmed that she was having a great time and was so well taking care off. We can’t thank her enough for providing such loving care. We’ll definitely be booking again in the future!”

“Sujanna was great to Sidney and great to work with!! She sent multiple updates and pictures every day. I could tell that Sidney was happy and well cared for. I highly recommend Sujanna as a dog sitter and look forward to using her again.”

“Karine is the best sitter I have used! She was very patient and took really good care of my nervous Aussie shepherd. Asked question to make sure she was always well taken care of and safe. I loved all the updates and pics of ruby playing and getting along with the family. I trust her and highly recommend her to take good care of your fur babies. Thank you Karine!!”

“Scout spent her first overnight with Richard and Karen . I found them to be kind and caring , texting me and sending me pictures . I felt Scout was safe and warmed up to them quickly . Scout is a sensitive dog and very attached to her family and home . It’s not easy for us to leave her anywhere but I feel comfortable leaving her with Richard and Karen for a 9 day trip we have coming up.”

“Rafelina has taken such good care of my pets in the past and again of Max. Max runs to her house because he loves it there. I always have peace of mind leaving my babies with her. She sends me frequent updates and lets me know how they are doing. Excellent dog sitter.”

“WOW. This is my first time with Brittany. Brittany is amazing. Brittany devoted so much time to Drew. Although Brittany has a fenced in yard, she took our dog on two walks each day. They went to the park. They had movie night together. Brittany is a rare find. When I picked my dog up, you could see how much HE enjoyed staying with Brittany—his tail was wagging, he was smiling (yes, my dog smiles) and he was licking Brittany affectionately as we were saying goodbye. I’ve had a number of other dog sitters, but Brittany just goes the extra mile. Again, she’s incredible and puts all our other sitters to shame. We are definitely spoiled and will use Brittany again anytime we need a sitter.”

“Maddie was wonderful! Took perfect care of Sasha and checked in often about her during her stay. She was also very understanding and accomodating to some unfortunate tummy troubles Sasha had. Would definitely recommend Maddie!”

“I highly recommend Robert. I needed someone to watch my dog on very short notice and he was incredibly flexible, understanding, and accommodating throughout the entire process. Communication was excellent from start to finish, and he regularly sent photos and updates that gave me peace of mind while I was away. He was friendly, professional, and made a stressful situation much easier to handle. Most importantly, Santiago was well cared for and clearly received lots of attention and affection! I’m very grateful for his help and would absolutely trust him with Santiago again.”

“First time with Chialing and we’ll definitely be back. Our dog is very shy and Chialing took extra care of her to feel comfortable. She also provided daily updates and photos / videos. I could see that our dog was getting very comfortable with her. Thank you so much!”

“Demetra was amazing!! We loved their family and our pug was so happy! He had such a great time with them and they took such good care of him! I am looking forward to bringing him over again!”

“Priscilla is absolutely amazing! I’m so grateful she was free to watch my dog for three nights while we were away. She’s responsive and communicative — and Watson may love her more than he loves me based on the pictures she sent! 😂 I also give her a lot of credit because she watched him during one of the absolute coldest weeks we’ve had in a while and she still braved the arctic temperatures to make sure he got a ton of walks. I’ll absolutely be booking with her again!”

“Christina and her husband Nick were amazing! She had questions ready prior to the booking to insure the best care for my dog Marley, she sent me constant update and pictures, and made me feel super comfortable. I will definitely be booking with Christina again! Marley loved both of them and I’m sure he looks forward to seeing them again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
