“Demetra was amazing!! We loved their family and our pug was so happy! He had such a great time with them and they took such good care of him! I am looking forward to bringing him over again!”

“Amazing host! They offered a meet and greet before boarding. During boarding, they shared many photos and updates such as what they’ve played and their appetite. I felt very comfortable having them watch over my dog.”

“Lisa was so loving and caring to Jupi during his stay. She made sure he was never alone and took the extra step to make sure he ate his food given he recently has started requiring add-ons to his regular dry food. She regularly sent me pictures and was always very responsive. Thank you for taking care of Jupi, we will definitely bring him back.”

“Our family was traveling overseas for a week and for the first time ever, could not bring our beloved Emi (a Pekingese) with us. (We usually bring her on our vacations and stay in pet-friendly hotels.) This was my first time using Rover and I chose Hope based on her incredible reviews, (despite being farther away from where I live), and I am so glad to have found her! As many have mentioned, Hope stayed in contact and regularly shared pictures of our Emi getting lots of love from her whole family :) We were worried that Emi would just be in some corner of the home, like a kennel, but were so relieved and encouraged to see that she quickly became part of the family. I seriously think Emi was sad to leave them- which is a great thing! It means she had a blast and felt comfortable and loved. Thank you Hope for taking such great care of Emi and for alleviating our anxieties. We look forward to using you again and again! So thrilled to have found you.”

“Thanks Ankita...They were attentive, reliable, and clearly cared for my dog like their own. I felt completely at ease knowing my dog was happy, safe, and well taken care of.”

“Kun was so great to have during this trip! He sent us constant updates throughout the day in order to keep us posted about how our dog was doing and always was super understanding. Would definitely re-book.”

“Pam took great care of my Rosiejune. She walked her, played with her and did her belly rubs. I recommend highly. I will use her again. Thanks for making us comfortable being away from Rosiejune.”

We are home full time. We will give your pup the TLC he/she is used to at home. Our dog friendly pup will keep your fur baby company while running around in the fenced-in yard or chilling out inside. We have a pretty relaxed style in taking care of your pet. I require a meet and greet with your dog before a scheduled stay to make sure your dog gets along with my pets and feels comfortable in our home. You can always book a daycare before a longer stay so your dog gets used to our home. Our cat keeps to himself most of the day. It is important that your dog is fairly well behaved and does not: *jump on furniture without permission *chew on inappropriate items such as shoes (unless it's a puppy which of course we will plan accordingly) *or drool excessively He/she should be easygoing, and most importantly, should not be aggressive. We live in a single family home with a fenced-in yard (6' high PVC) and 1 friendly dog to keep your fur baby company. We also have a crate that can be used if your dogs prefers. The cat litter is kept in a room blocked off by pet gates where only the cat will have access.

We are thrilled to recommend Monica & Kelvin, who enthusiastically welcomed our 14 year old cocker spaniel Baci to their home! With texts and photos during our vacation, Monica gave us the confidence that we made a great decision in leaving Baci in their care. She made the arrangements for her services easy for us, and she was accommodating in every way. We consider them the perfect dog sitters!

Sloane took excellent care of our cat Sammy. She took her time to find out about his routine and cared about his well being. She sent us regular updates with pictures/videos of him which gave us peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely book with her again and highly recommend her.

Melvin absolutely LOVES staying at Melissa’s house. He is given so much love and attention. I trust very few people with my pup but I can tell Melissa gets him and makes sure he feels comfortable. I am so relieved I can travel and not worry about him while I’m away.

Mi was caring; provided outstanding care to Lily. She was very attentive and supportive regarding Lily's needs. Mi sent us updates along with videos and pictures of Lily's day. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing Lily was in good hands. For our next vacation, we would definitely use Mi again.
Celeste is AMAZING!! Do not hesitate for a moment to leave your pet with her and her family. She was wonderful with our puppy and sent us pictures and videos! He was treaded like part of the family in her home. He came home happy and well cared for. I will 100% be using Celeste again to care for Hank!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
