“Amazing host! They offered a meet and greet before boarding. During boarding, they shared many photos and updates such as what they’ve played and their appetite. I felt very comfortable having them watch over my dog.”

“This was our 1st time using Rover. My husband & I were nervous. Then when we dropped off our dog Rocky who is a 10 year old beagle to Ken & Irene's I knew he was going in good hands. Irene is very sweet & caring. Everyday we got plenty of pictures with updates. Which put our mind at ease. We will definitely use them again!!”
“This was the first time we used Rover and Jennifer. Our experience with both was great. Jennifer was so caring and Judge had a great time while there. We would definitely use her again and recommend her as well.”

“Lisa made Carly's first boarding away from home a loving and pleasant experience. She returned home healthy and happy. Lisa kept in touch and consistantly sent pictures of her time with Carly.”

“I’m so grateful to have found Maureen to care for my sweet Lola while I was away! Lola can be a bit shy and isn’t always great with other dogs, but Maureen knew exactly how to handle her with so much patience and love. She really took the time to understand Lola’s needs and quirks, from giving her the cuddles she loves to making sure she had her peaceful walks without any stress. I could tell how happy Lola was when I came back—she was relaxed, content, and clearly well taken care of. It’s not easy to find someone you can fully trust with your fur baby, but Maureen exceeded my expectations in every way. I can’t thank her enough for giving Lola the attention and care she deserves. It was like she was on her own little vacation! It’s clear Maureen genuinely cares and goes the extra mile to ensure pets are happy and well cared for. I’ll definitely be booking with her again! Thank you Maureen!!”

“Evelien was genuinely the best! I felt comforted the whole time due to her constant updates and adorable photos! She was responsive and extremely friendly! My Ducky came back happy and in the best mood!!! I will definitely be sending my little boy back to Evelien for future stays and would recommend to anyone else looking for a sitter!”

“We travel frequently for long trips and our usual sitter was not available this time and so we chose to use Rover and found Ankita and her beautiful family . From the time of meet and Greet I knew that I couldn’t have found a better dog loving home for my coco . The love care and affection they showered on coco was evident from the multiple daily updates we received in form of videos and messages . Coco was the happiest puppy ever and I bet she is going to miss them so much - especially their Dog Panther who is such a sweet heart and their little son who became coco’s best friend and companion to play all day :) Coco has found a new second home and we will surely be using them again at our next time away”

“Hope is the best! She took in our 1 year old Labrador retriever for a week. We felt very comfortable with Hope right from the start and could tell she truly loves dogs. Booking with Hope was so easy, she is quick to respond and very accommodating. She took great care in listening to our instructions and any concerns we had with our energetic dog. We received pictures and text updates everyday, which let us really relax and enjoy our time away. Hope, you are awesome!! Thank you so much!!”
“I cannot speak highly enough about the incredible care Christina and Nick provided for our Sammy. From the very first meet-and-greet to the final pickup, it was clear that our pup was in warm, capable, and loving hands. Daily updates with an abundance of adorable photos gave us peace of mind. If you're looking for dependable, experienced, and compassionate pet sitters who truly treat your pets like family, look no further. Christina and Nick are the gold standard.”
About: I have owned dogs most of my life, always showering them with the love and care they deserve. Now, I want to do the same for your pups! I am available most days during the day, weekends included. My schedule is extremely flexible, so I should almost always be able to accommodate your requests. I have a fenced-in yard and a friendly dog, so your dog will be housed safely, and will have a four-legged friend to play with. “Rhea and Michael were absolutely the best! My dog Frankie is 11 years old, he doesn’t like being around a lot of other dogs, he was very comfortable spending the week with Rhea and Michael while we were in the Bahamas. Rhea sent a lot of pictures and I could see how happy he was! They took great care of him and kept me updated! I will definitely be using them again!”

“Kun is the best dogsitter out there. We have hired him three times and he has consistently taken excellent care of our Shih-Tzu. He sends us multiple pictures and videos daily and communicates well. We’ll seek him out again next time for our dogsitter needs.”

About: I've had pets all my life. Now I'm looking to have another furry friend in the house so my dog has some companionship. It's a really cozy place that any dog would be happy to spend time at. I'm working full time from home. My schedule is flexible. I have a dog that I take for walks everyday so I would take your pet as well. I also enjoy taking my dog on longer walks on the weekends if the weather permits. I have a fenced in backyard and I have a gate in the house that I can separate the dogs while I'm out so they never are alone together.
“Donna was amazing with my dog Taz! She was able to watch Taz for a few days on very short notice. Donna was so accommodating and loving to Taz. 100% recommend Donna and family Your pet will be in great and loving hands.”

“We’re incredibly grateful to Laura and her family for caring for our dog in late February. Our dog became sick during her stay, and Laura went above and beyond—taking her to our vet to make sure she got the attention she needed. She was also extremely communicative throughout, keeping us updated every step of the way. We truly couldn’t have asked for better care!”
“Grace was terrific with our Yorkie-Poodle mix. We never left him with a sitter before, so we were looking for someone where our dog would be the only dog and get lots of attention. Grace gave our dog great care, sending us regular updates and setting our minds at ease for boarding him. We will book with Grace again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
