“Tammy and her family are great dog sitters. I feel at ease whenever we leave our Woody with them for the day. They make sure to keep him entertained and cared for during his stays. I would recommend Tammy for anyone's doggie daycare needs.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life. Our dogs are like children to us. Now, as we work from home and have a big yard, we have the ideal setup for happy, safe dogs—and want to share it with your fur baby! Stay at Penny’s House - We’ve raised our 3-year-old mini poodle to be a happy, gentle and well-rounded pup. She loves to play and cuddle, and gets along very well with other dogs and cats! She’s a great hostess. - Our home is very loving and safe. Someone is always around to give cuddles and love, plenty of cozy places to hang out, and hazards are always out of reach. - We have a fully fenced, big backyard where your beloved fur baby can play fetch and get out all their zoomies frequently and safely. It's also covered in grass and shaded by large trees, so don't worry about hot summer days! - We don't anticipate anything happening, but just in case, rest assured because our home is only *one block* away from an excellent animal hospital! - We’ll do our best to make sure that your little buddy will feel loved and at home here, getting the same level of care you like to provide to them. - We’ve had senior dogs and a dog with diabetes, so we are very careful and will always give attention to detail to adapt to their needs, whether it be diet, exercise, attention, or anything else. We read ingredients and will follow your instructions carefully. - We will keep you updated with photos and videos so you know they’re safe and having a good time. - ¡Se habla español! Si tu perrito se siente más cómodo que le hable en español, solo díganos cuáles comandos utilizan. It’s hard to find someone to trust with your pet; we found this out the hard way. So we hope our home can be the place you rely on to feel safe leaving your little bundle. REQUIREMENTS: We’re flexible and easygoing. But because we want everyone to have a good, safe time, we do have a couple of requirements: 1) We require a meet-and-greet for all new clients before a stay to make sure our dog and yours get along well. 2) Your dog must be up-to-date on all vaccines: rabies, bordatella, lepto, etc. Because we work from home, we are available at home to take care of your little buddy full time for boarding and daycare at our home. A fully-enclosed, shaded backyard for zoomies and lots of walks around our safe, dog-friendly, and tree-lined neighborhood. Your fur baby will be under our supervision throughout the day and will get frequent trips to the yard and lots of time to play. We're also happy to walk your dog as often as you need. We’re always happy to be flexible with your schedule to accommodate both your and your dog’s needs.
“My dog’s home away from home. She had a great time with her new bestie, Molly. She’ll definitely be back. Thank you so much for taking good care of her.”

“Katherine was very attentive with my senior doggo. Send lots of pics and the best videos! I appreciate the care and attention to detail, Bentley was comfortable and happy :)”

“She is really thoughtful and caring! She sent us lots of pictures to keep us updated on our dog, and I could tell from those photos that she truly loves dogs. She pays great attention to detail and makes sure everything is done properly. I feel completely safe and comfortable leaving my dog with her — highly recommended!”

About: I’m a mom of two, and I have two Maltese of my own, so I know how much our pets mean to us. I genuinely love dogs and enjoy spending time with them, whether that’s going for walks, playing, or just giving them lots of attention and cuddles. I’ll care for your dog like they’re part of my own family, and I’ll make sure you get plenty of updates and photos so you can relax while you’re away. I work from home full-time and have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely run, play, and enjoy the outdoors. I love spending time outside with them, whether we’re playing in the yard or taking a relaxing stroll around the neighborhood. Because I work from home, I also offer flexible drop-in visits and dog walks before work, during my lunch break, or after my workday. Whether your pup needs a potty break, some exercise, playtime, or a little extra love while you’re away, I’m happy to help! I have a fully fenced yard where dogs can safely play, and I can crate your dog if needed. Since I work from home full-time, your dog will never be left alone for long and will receive lots of attention and care throughout the day. I also offer drop-in visits and dog walks before work, during my lunch break, and after work to fit your schedule.

“Cathy was very warm and welcoming to Archy. He seemed comfortable right from the beginning of the day and he was happy and engaged when we returned in the evening to pick him up. This was a great first day away for Archy and we will definitely return for Cathy's care! Thank you! Joe”

“Desi and Marilyn are such warm people. Leia has gone for 2 days and she’s come home exhausted from playing with her new friends especially her crush Baxter. Leia can’t wait to go back but unlucky for Leia mama is off work a couple of days. Highly recommend!”

“I had a very positive experience with Melissa. She is reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about my pup like her own. I got regular updates and came home to a happy, well-taken-care-of pup. Highly recommend and will absolutely book again.”

“Nosa was super super accommodating with my schedule, Roxy loves being with Nosa and he treats her so so well. I highly recommend Nosa and will definitely be sending Roxy to Nosa again!!!!”

“Rocio is THE best!! She helped me out, last-minute, with my two pups. She’s extremely caring and attentive to my dogs and I receive multiple updates (w/photos) throughout the day. The best part is, not only do they come home super tired, but also they smell AMAZING! Thank you, Rocio - Cooper & Luna are SO excited to get into the car every morning 😁”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
