About: I grew up with both dogs and cats, and caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I have hands-on experience caring for dogs belonging to friends, family members, and clients—including dogs with anxiety, especially while their owners are traveling. Many of these dogs had previously stayed in large commercial boarding facilities where multiple dogs share the same space, which often increased their stress and anxiety. I’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference a calm home environment and personalized one-on-one attention can make. I am also certified in American Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid, so I’m prepared to respond in case of an emergency and provide attentive care for your pets. I focus on patience, consistency, and gentle, loving care to help each dog feel safe, comfortable, and secure. With dedicated attention and companionship, I’ve watched anxious dogs gradually become more relaxed and confident—sometimes they even seem reluctant to leave! :) I’m home full-time to care for your pup. This means your dog will receive plenty of attention, regular walks, and consistent, loving care throughout the day. I have the time and flexibility to focus on your dog’s individual needs, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for during their stay. I keep my schedule flexible, but I only care for one dog at a time to provide the best possible experience. Because of this, spots can fill quickly—especially during holidays—so please plan and book in advance. Located in a quiet, friendly neighborhood, my home is designed to provide comfort, security, and plenty of room for your dog to relax and play. Your pup will enjoy a park-like backyard—nearly half an acre—fully fenced for safe exploration and outdoor fun. Whether they love to run, sniff, or simply lounge in the sun, there’s plenty of space to feel at home. In the summer, I also set up a dog-friendly swimming pool so they can cool off and have some extra fun. I share my home with a very friendly 9-year-old Black Lab who is gentle, well-socialized, and enjoys calm companionship with other dogs. To ensure every dog gets the attention, care, and comfort they deserve, I typically host only one dog at a time (with a maximum of two during holidays). This allows me to focus on your dog’s individual needs and create a low-stress, personalized experience. Your dog will be treated like family here—safe, happy, and well cared for every step of the way.
“I was very with Chialing care for my baby Lola. She kept us updated. Send this pictures videos. Lola actually walked with no leash and they are run away so I’m happy with that. Her care her time and to keep up letting us know how everything was going was excellent. I would definitely definitely use her again to babysit my baby dog Lola. Thank you so much for your care and your love and your attention.”

“Kira had such a great time at Maureen’s for her 2 night stay! Maureen gave Kira lots of attention which we appreciated since Kira can be a bit anxious. Maureen also watches Kira on a regular basis for doggy day care and is always great with her! We would not hesitate to have Kira over for a future stay!”

I am available most days during the day, weekends included. My schedule is extremely flexible, so I should almost always be able to accommodate your requests. “Diana is friendly, caring, responsible and she is a great dog sitter. She sent photos and videos everyday and went above and beyond to take care of my shiba inu. In addition, her dog Wendy was a wonderdul playmate for my shiba. She provided a safe, clean and fun environment for the care of my dog.”

“Our dog has stayed with Nina and Augustine many times and she is incredibly happy there. They treat their boarding dogs like cherished members of the family! Our dog Daisy used to be hesitant about staying with someone else and would cling to me. Now when we walk up to Nina and Augustine's house she's pulling at the leash and pawing at the door to try to get inside! They are trustworthy, reliable, and so great about communication and sending photos. I would without hesitation recommend them for dog boarding or any animal care.”

“Christina and Nick provided a calm, loving environment for Ziggy. Christina sent daily updates and pictures, and there was no doubt in my mind that Ziggy was being well taken care of. That peace of mind was so appreciated during our time away.”

“Camila was absolutely wonderful! She kept me updated with photos and videos and took such great care of Winnie. Her dog Milo was also amazing—he and Winnie got along so well and played together perfectly. I felt completely at ease knowing Winnie was in such good hands. I’ll definitely be booking her again—couldn’t be happier with the experience!”

“A very honest review: Celeste is absolutely wonderful. I am military and I had to leave on a mission overseas last minute, and she accommodated my needs and my dog’s needs for an extended stay. I will definitely use her services again, she’s a wonderful pet sitter, she’s very communicative and sent me pictures of my dog and an update daily while I was overseas. Her and her family all love pets and are very caring, this shows as my dog gets very excited to see her, her family, and her pets. She treated my dog as if it was her own.”

“I use the Rovers services for the first time. I was very happy that Tammy watched my dog Lucy. I was very relaxed on my vacation knowing that Lucy was in good hands when. I met Tammy on a meet and greet I was confident that Lucy would be in good hands while I was on vacation. When I picked her up It seemed like she didn’t want to leave Tammy‘s house. I would highly recommend Tammy and will use her in the future.”

“Joannie was kind and made sure we felt comfortable leaving Frankie in her care. When I came to pick Frankie up I could see how comfortable she felt with Joannie. Frankie very comfortably laid down next to her while we were talking. I can not thank her enough for keeping Frankie safe and loving her while she was in her care. I am lucky to have found Joannie!”

About: What sets us apart is how much we genuinely love dogs. We are dog parents ourselves, so we understand how much trust it takes — and how worrying it can feel — to leave your dog in someone else’s care. For us, dog sitting is more than just feeding and walking. We love spending time with them, playing with them, and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and loved while you’re away. Because we know how much owners miss and worry about their dogs, we always try to send photo updates in the morning and evening so you can see how your pup is doing and feel at ease. We have hands-on experience caring for different breeds, including Samoyeds, Weimaraners, Shetland Sheepdogs, and Golden Retrievers. Since we have friendly and social dogs of our own, we carefully supervise all interactions and focus on creating a safe and positive environment for every dog. We follow each dog’s routine closely and give them the attention, care, and love they deserve. On days I accept bookings, I’m home all day to give dogs my full attention, provide close supervision, and make sure they get plenty of walks and care. I provide a calm, safe, and dog-friendly environment in my home. All dogs are closely supervised, especially during playtime and interactions with other dogs. I carefully follow each dog’s routine, including feeding schedules, walks, and rest time. Because I am a dog owner myself, I understand how important safety and trust are. My goal is to make every dog feel comfortable, secure, and cared for like a member of our family.

Hope was an amazing dog sitter for my Shiba Inu. Her space is clean, dog friendly both inside the house and outside with a fenced backyard, plus she is very friendly and loving towards the animals. She checked in multiple times per day with pictures and progress reports on eating/activity/and using the bathroom when hosting my pet. Rest assured that your pet will be in great hands with Hope. Thank you.

Ann was amazing with my dog, Mocha, during an overnight stay! She took such great care of her and made me feel completely at ease. Her communication was outstanding — I received updates and knew Mocha was in great hands the whole time. It’s clear Ann truly cares about the dogs she watches. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

As a Veteran, my service dog means the world to me. I rarely leave him with anyone, so I am extremely cautious about who I trust to care for him. First impressions matter a lot to me, and from the very beginning, Ken and Irene answered countless questions and immediately made me feel comfortable. When we met in person, I knew right away they were the perfect people to watch my best friend. Throughout his stay, they kept me updated with messages and photos, which gave me tremendous peace of mind. It was obvious that Kawhi was safe, comfortable, and being genuinely cared for. After five years together, spending virtually every day by his side, I know my dog better than anyone. When I picked him up, I could tell he had been calm, relaxed, loved, and exceptionally well cared for during his time with them. I highly recommend Ken and Irene to anyone looking for trustworthy, compassionate pet care. I would not hesitate to leave Kawhi with them again, and that is one of the highest compliments I can give.

Meredith did a great job taking care of my senior dog. She has senior dogs herself so she was very understanding. She also gave me good feedback. She communicates very well and responds quickly. She has a nice fenced in yard. My dog got along well with Meredith and her dogs. I think she had such a good time that she didn't want to come home! Thanks Meredith!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
