Home Town Dog Whisperer

Often nicknamed my hometown’s “dog whisperer,” I specialize in working with dogs who have special needs, including anxiety and behavioral challenges such as aggression. I’ve been working with animals for over 20 years, with the past 15 years dedicated to providing individualized care including training, grooming, and in-home vacation sitting. I share my home with special-needs dogs of my own and have hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes—from a 2-lb Yorkie to a 210-lb Mastiff. As the Assistant Director of a New Jersey–based rescue, I’ve cared for dogs ranging in age from newborn puppies to seniors as old as 18. My experience also includes administering medications, including but not limited to insulin injections. I pride myself on being highly individualized with each dog, taking the time to truly learn their needs, routines, and personalities. Every dog in my care is treated as if they were my own—no matter their size, breed, or background. I understand firsthand how hard it can be to be away from your pets, and I’ve been fortunate to have sitters who gave me peace of mind. I offer my services as a way to “pay it forward,” providing that same comfort to you and your dog. I’d love the opportunity to discuss your dog’s specific needs further. Bonus perks include the ability to give your dog their own space safely if needed, a fully fenced yard—and a doggie pool on hot days! Thank you so much for reading 🐾

Shannon has experience watching dogs and I appreciated her watching my dog while I was away. She answered my texts to send me updates, and sent me pictures too.

Doggy Day Care • Sep 18, 2022

Shannon cared for my 5yo lab/pointer mix along with several dogs already there that day. Despite some initial excitement (unrelated to my dog), Shannon provided calm and professional care. My dog came home happy and we enjoyed the photos Shannon sent while we attended a family party.

Safety, trust & environment

Backyard is completely fenced in. Dogs are fed separately and kept separately behind baby gates to avoid any possible issues while eating. Needs and safety of each dog is individually based on each dogs behaviors.
