“Rhinesca made my first dog sitting experience wonderful. She had excellent communication & sent pictures daily. My Kobe fell in love with her on the first visit. I would definitely recommend her & I attended to use her again.”

“Michelle took wonderful care if our two Cavaliers. We needed to board our dogs last minute and she was able to accommodate us. The photo updates were great and they had plenty of puppy and human friends to play with. Will definitely bring the dogs back!”
“It was a pleasure working with Matthew! He is an excellent communicator and was very flexible with our schedule. He took wonderful care of Summer, providing regular photo updates and real-time feedback that gave me complete peace of mind. I’ll definitely be booking with him again!”

“Molly watched Harley several times over the past 4 months with flexibility and understanding. We had a family situation that required short notice changes to the pet sitting duration and additional reservations. I'm especially thankful that when we were able to pick Harley up a couple of days earlier, Molly gave us a refund for the days Harley did not stay with them, without us asking about it. We received photos regularly, and Molly's comments about Harley made us feel comfortable she gets to know her pet sits as individuals. We can see that her whole family takes good care of her. Harley many times had the benefit of playing with other dogs, and always got outdoor time, and coming back a happy dog each time. We are very fortunate to have such an honest, reliable, and kind pet sitter so close by.”

“We left Reggie in Ankita’s care for two weeks while we were abroad. Since then, she’s also been helping us with doggy daycare. She kept us updated throughout the trip, sending regular snaps and videos that really helped ease our nerves. Ankita is an excellent communicator—she’s very careful with the puppies and respectful toward their parents. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for doggy daycare or boarding. Thank you so much, Ankita!”

“We had such a great experience with Michaelangelo! We had a last-minute need for someone to watch our almost 2-year-old Boxer, Walter, who is VERY energetic and has some separation anxiety. Michaelangelo said yes without hesitation, which we really appreciated. He has two Pomeranians of his own and a great fenced-in yard where Walter could run around and get all of his energy out. Michaelangelo sent us pictures and updates every day, which really helped us feel comfortable knowing Walter was doing well. He was also very quick to respond anytime I had a question. Walter had a great time and came home happy! We’re so happy we found Michaelangelo and would definitely recommend him to our family and friends. We will absolutely use him again! ❤️”

“Cheryl is an amazing pet sitter! She was able to take care of my cat at her beautiful, large house on short notice and was very kind and patient with my kitty who was nervous about staying somewhere new at first. Cheryl was easy to talk to, quick in responding to texts, and kept me up to date about my cat all day. I have used her multiple times and would highly recommend trusting her with your beloved pet. I am so happy I found such an excellent, generous, and, knowledgable caregiver for my cat!”

“Christina and Nick are awesome sitters! Our dog stayed with them for several days and we can tell he was extremely well cared for. Christina sends lots of updates and photos, which made me feel so much more comfortable being away from my pup. She’s super responsive, understanding, and caring. Couldn’t recommend enough and will definitely use her for dog sitting again in the future!”

“Another great visit with Elizabeth and her family! We are so relieved leaving Coco with her family knowing Coco is being so well taken care of. Coco comes home exhausted from all the love and attention from her children. Thank you so much!!!”

“Carolina took amazing care of our 1 year old cavapoo! She has a beautiful dog Daisy who was so friendly and playful and other dogs for her to play with too. We got daily updates while our dog was in her care - with pictures too!!! Her whole family was so wonderful - we would definitely book Carolina again when we travel!”

“Roberta and Travis were great to work with. Fast communication and our NOAA was happy and exhausted at pick up! She played with their pup Marshall and came home a very content pup! We will definitely use them again in the future!”

“Maureen was wonderful. She made Bailey feel welcome. Additionally, she helped us to have a high level of confidence in the environment that she was create for our dog. We will be going back to her in the future.”

“Tammy was great! I am a first time dog owner and she kept me calm. Was experienced , calm and a true lover of animals. It was a great experience for Bindi to play with other dogs and stay in a safe environment. Bindi is exhausted tonight ?Thank you for all your help.”

“Axl is a very reliable dog sitter. She was one of the few sitters that responded and didn’t cancel or ghosted me on the Rover. I truly recommend her for your dog care. Our dog - Peaches - stay at Axl home was amazing. Our dog had a lot of fun with her and her two other dogs. Peaches didn't even notice that we were leaving her with a new family. She was well entertained and taken care off. We were getting updates and pictures from our dog stay regularly. She really took a great care of our dog.”

“Kyungwon and Henry were absolutely wonderful sitters! They were so caring with my pup and paid close attention to every detail of his schedule. Since he’s still a puppy, they took extra care to keep up with his nap times and made sure he was comfortable around their other dogs. They also sent so many photos and videos throughout the day, so I never had to wonder how he was doing. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Their communication and thoughtful care gave us complete peace of mind. We highly recommend them and would happily have our little one stay again!”

“Sujanna is an amazing person clearly cut out for the job that she does. She took amazing care of Rebel and was very communicative with Rebel’s daily activities. She sent pictures and videos detailing day’s events and best of all, Rebel was clearly so happy with her. I will not look elsewhere if I need a sitter again. Thank you so much Sujanna.”

Sloane took excellent care of our cat Sammy. She took her time to find out about his routine and cared about his well being. She sent us regular updates with pictures/videos of him which gave us peace of mind while we were away. We will definitely book with her again and highly recommend her.

Brittny is great! Digby felt right at home and he loved playing with her kids and their dog Benji for hours and hours in their huge yard! She sent great happy photos over the weekend, and is easy to work with around pick up and drop off. We are so happy we found this loving family.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
