About: I have been around dogs for most of my life, having owned two dogs from ages 6-20, and I have since gained hands-on experience caring for pets with a wide range of personalities, ages and needs. I’ve pet sat for both cats and dogs, including caring for four cats and two dogs at once, managing litter boxes, wet and dry food routines, playtime and plenty of attention and affection. I also have experience administering oral medications and eye drops to dogs. One experience especially that sets me apart is caring for a Catahoula Leopard dog who was paralyzed in her hind legs, which involved expressing her bladder and assisting with her mobility alongside caring for another dog in the home. I’m comfortable with puppies as well, having provided drop-in care for a golden retriever at both 3 months and 6 months old, as well as extended dog and house sitting for a 2-year old golden retriever. Leaving my 17-year-old cat, Lily, for 10 days was not easy, especially because Lily is incredibly shy and fearful of people. She was born to a feral mother and, in her 17 years, has never allowed anyone other than me to get close to her. Ella came twice a day to care for Lily, and what happened was truly remarkable. Not only did Ella earn Lily’s trust, but she was actually able to pet her, brush her, and even play with her! Something no one else has ever been able to do. To know that Lily felt safe enough to let Ella into her little world means more to me than words can express. This goes far beyond being a good pet sitter. I’m a very nervous pet owner, so leaving my cats alone while I’m on vacation is always a stressful experience.
