About: Over the course of my time I've taken care of and lived with goldfish, parakeets, a big old mutt, several great cats...and chickens. Considering that I grew up in Manhattan, I'd say that if that doesn't account for exeptional qualifications to love and care for our furry (or scaly, or feathered) friends, I'm not sure what could! Our kids are off exploring the world as newly minted adults leaving my wife and I with two finicky cats. With a little extra time on my hands I thought it would be a good idea to help other pet owners out to work all day or preferably, gone on a much needed vacation but looking for someone to check in on their furry loved ones. I freelance from home as a designer, so I typically have time at both ends of the day to extend a helping hand to anyone who needs a little extra care for their pet. We have 2 cats at home of whom I am the primary caretaker of, so adding a visit to a neighbor in need would be easy. I will follow all instructions and care indications you give for your pet(s) to the letter and provide pictures of completion if you request it.

About: I’ve had numerous cats, dogs, birds and a rabbit! I love animals and the unconditional love they give in return. I would love to have the opportunity to take care of your babies while you are gone and give you the piece of mind you are looking for. I’m retired and have plenty of time to play and check on your fur baby! I adore animals and will love yours as much as I love my own! Currently I am offering services in your home only as I have a high energy puppy in mine. If your dog also is high energy and wants/craves stimulation with a like minded pup, I’d be more than happy to see how they get along! My home has a fenced in yard as well as a doggie door, and my dogs go on numerous walks per day.

About: I have taken care of dogs for 15 years. From puppies to seniors, Dachshunds to Pitties. I’ve owned my pit for 15 years and I adore him with my life. I have dog sat for a whole week even commuting to and from work to make sure their pup was safe and healthy. I have dealt with all the beautiful and not beautiful moments with my furry friends and I will always make sure to take care of them and make them feel at home with me. I am currently working full time at a doggy boarding facility and get my schedule a week in advance. I will make sure that the week ahead is confirmed for anyone who needs me. I make sure to continue the schedules my clients supply to me. I have a dog with a very specific diet, so I will be sure your dog gets all their meds and proper food so they stay in great health! I also am active so long walk and play time are no stranger to me! If your dog is more mellow I will match their energy and pace so they can feel comfortable and secure. I am Dog CPR certified and Dog behavior certified, so I am able to work around all personalities!

About: Hi, I’m Cynthia ! I’m a young professional with a love for all animals looking to spread and gain some joy through my love for animals. At a party, you can spot this vegan in the corner spending time with the family's dog. Driven by a deep affection for dogs and a desire to enhance my physical health, I am exploring dog walking and dog sitting services. This endeavor is not only a refreshing diversion from my corporate tech job but also a meaningful way to contribute beyond the confines of my computer. It’s a step towards a healthier lifestyle and a gesture of giving back to the world, one dog walk at a time. --- I had my own little friend and we spent 12 years together. He battled a few medical issues making me equipped to handle any special needs of your dog. Additionally, throughout my college years, I spent time volunteering at animal shelters providing long walks on trails. --- I believe that every dog deserves personalized attention. My approach is tailored to each dog’s personality and needs, ensuring they feel comfortable, loved, and engaged during our walks. I provide nurturing care for puppies, ensuring safe and positive walks that cater to their curiosity. For senior dogs, I offer a peaceful companionship, mindful of their slower pace and physical needs. --- Please let me know if your dog has any special needs or requires extra attention. I am highly experienced in senior dog care and am always happy to accommodate their specific routines. **Some of the conditions I have hands-on experience managing include: - Insulin administration: Experienced with strict schedules and monitoring for diabetic dogs (which I did for our own beloved family pup) - Pancreatitis: Familiar with strict dietary management and flare-up prevention - Cognitive Decline: Patient and understanding with early-onset canine dementia - Sensory Impairments: Adept at navigating and comforting blind or deaf dogs ------ Above all, my connection with dogs is heart-driven. I strive to ensure every dog in my care feels like the most special pup in the world 💖 🕒 Work-Life Balance: Working from home means I’m never too far from a wagging tail. My flexible WFH schedule works well with any spontaneity needs. 📅 Weekend: Weekends are for adventure! Whether it’s a hike in the trails or simply a walk around the quiet neighborhood, I make sure your dog experiences the excitement and stimulation they crave. 🏠 Home Sweet Home: Above all, my home is a haven of love and care, where pets are treated as cherished family members. With me, every pet enjoys a routine filled with affection, attention, and the utmost care. I live in a small cozy apartment so they will be under watch 24/7.

About: I have over 8 years of hands-on experience caring for my own dogs (Bibbles and Kona) and have recently welcomed dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities into my home through Rover. I have experience caring for energetic puppies, senior dogs, anxious pets, and dogs with special needs, including blind dogs. I understand that every dog is different and take the time to learn their routines, comfort levels, and personalities to help them feel safe and relaxed. Safety is always my top priority. I carefully supervise introductions, monitor behavior, and provide a structured environment with plenty of potty breaks, playtime, rest, and attention. Whether your dog loves to play, cuddle, explore the yard, or simply relax, I will make sure they receive personalized care and plenty of love while you're away. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pup is happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I spend most of my time at home, which allows me to provide frequent potty breaks, playtime, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. I keep a flexible schedule so I can accommodate each pet's individual needs and routine. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each dog's routine, personality, and any special needs before their stay. Dogs are always supervised, introduced carefully, and provided with a clean, comfortable environment. I have a secure fenced yard for outdoor time, and I can separate dogs when needed to ensure everyone remains safe and stress-free. I also provide regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident while they're away.

About: Hi, I'm Bridget! Dogs have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with a Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier and have spent years caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. In December 2019, I adopted my senior rescue dog, Abbott, a Chihuahua mix who quickly became my best friend and constant companion. She passed away in March 2026, and caring for her through her senior years taught me so much about patience, compassion, and attentive pet care. I currently have a 2-year-old rescue pup named Clover, who is incredibly sweet and keeps me smiling every day. I'm a licensed therapist by profession, which means I bring patience, reliability, strong communication skills, and a calm presence to every interaction—both with pets and their humans. My husband and I recently moved to Long Island for his medical residency, but I'm not new to Rover. I've been dog walking and pet sitting through Rover for years while living in Washington, DC and Philadelphia, and I've loved building relationships with pets and their families along the way. I'm an active person and enjoy walking, running, and spending time outdoors. Whether your dog prefers a leisurely stroll, a brisk walk, or a jogging companion to burn off extra energy, I'm happy to tailor our time together to their needs. When caring for your pet, I treat them like one of my own. I know how much trust it takes to leave your furry family member in someone else's hands, and I take that responsibility seriously. You can expect dependable care, regular updates, and plenty of photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and loved. I can't wait to meet you and your pup! I recently relocated to Long Island and currently have a very flexible schedule, allowing me to accommodate walks, drop-in visits, and pet sitting throughout the day. Once I return to my full-time therapy practice, I will continue to offer flexible scheduling, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and many daytime appointments. Feel free to reach out—even if your request falls outside my listed availability, I may still be able to accommodate it! Your pet's safety and comfort are always my top priorities. As both a dog owner and experienced Rover sitter, I understand how important it is to know your pet is in caring and capable hands. I take the time to learn each pet's routine, personality, triggers, and preferences so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free. During walks and visits, I remain attentive to my surroundings, follow all owner instructions carefully, and prioritize safe handling practices at all times.

About: I have three dogs of my own, so caring for animals is a consistent and structured part of my daily routine. I prioritize long, intentional walks, enrichment, and balanced play to support both physical exercise and mental stimulation. I’m experienced with both dogs and cats, and comfortable with a wide range of sizes, breeds, and temperaments. With dogs, I’m familiar with everything from small companion breeds to larger, more energetic dogs. With cats, I understand the importance of respecting their space, routines, and comfort levels. In both cases, I pay close attention to body language and behavioral cues so I can adapt my care to each pet’s individual needs. I also have experience supporting animals with separation anxiety by providing a calm presence, consistency, and reassurance so they feel secure while their owners are away. I focus on creating a stable, predictable environment that helps reduce stress and build trust. Reliability, patience, and consistency are central to my care. I take time to understand each pet’s routine and reinforce positive behaviors during walks and visits, always aiming to maintain the structure and comfort they are used to at home. I’ve been around animals my entire life and bring both intuition and responsibility to every booking. My goal is simple: to provide safe, attentive, and genuinely caring support so your pets feel comfortable, understood, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, as I already care for my own dogs every day. I’m used to structuring my schedule around consistent walks, feeding, playtime, and general care, so it’s already built into how I plan my days. I have full-day availability and a flexible schedule, which allows me to accommodate a variety of needs throughout the week, including dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting. I’m able to adjust my day based on each pet’s routine so they receive consistent, reliable care at the times they’re used to. Whether it’s morning walks, midday check-ins, or overnight house sitting, I prioritize being present, dependable, and attentive. My goal is to maintain each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible while providing calm, consistent care throughout the day or stay. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize safety, respect, and maintaining a calm, familiar environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, litter box care, and any specific instructions provided, to ensure consistency and comfort. I am very attentive to each pet’s behavior and body language, which helps me respond appropriately to their needs and ensure they feel safe and understood. For pets that may experience anxiety, I focus on providing a steady, reassuring presence and minimizing disruption to their normal routine. I also provide updates as needed so owners feel informed and at ease throughout my care. I treat every home with care and responsibility, making sure to keep the space clean, secure, and exactly as I found it, while being mindful of safety at all times, including doors, leashes, and any specific household guidelines. My goal is to create a stable, trustworthy environment where pets feel comfortable and cared for, and owners feel confident that both their home and their pet are in reliable hands.

Nicole was an absolute angel with Lale during a very stressful time for me. From day one, I could see how kind, caring, and genuinely loving she is with animals. Honestly, the best review comes from Lale herself — she would practically hop with excitement whenever she saw Nicole! Watching her little tail wag and seeing how happy she was made my heart so happy. Lale felt completely safe, loved, and spoiled in the best possible way. Knowing Nicole was with her gave me such comfort and peace of mind. She cared for Lale with so much affection and attention, as if she were her own. I’m beyond grateful for everything Nicole did for my sweet girl. Anyone would be lucky to have Nicole care for their pet — and their pet will probably fall in love with her just as much as Lale did! ❣️🐾💕

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
