Availability
My schedule is flexible, with my strongest availability from Sunday through Wednesday for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight care. I'm also open to longer stays and recurring bookings during those days. Thursday and Friday availability may vary, but I can sometimes accommodate evening or overnight care if a later arrival works for your pet's routine. Weekend requests may also be possible depending on the dates and your pet's needs. Feel free to reach out with your schedule—I’m happy to see if we can find a good fit.

About Jonathan A.
Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a client's home, my priority is to keep their environment and routine as familiar and consistent as possible. I follow the owner's instructions closely regarding feeding, walks, medications, training, sleeping arrangements, and any household rules. I take time to learn each pet's personality, energy level, boundaries, and normal behavior rather than assuming every animal should be handled the same way. I'll reinforce the commands and routines you already use instead of introducing unnecessary changes while you're away. I also understand that trusting someone with your pet means trusting them with your home. I treat both with respect, keep the areas I use clean and organized, secure doors and entrances carefully, and communicate if anything unusual happens. During visits or overnight stays, I can provide regular updates and photos so you know how your pet is doing and can feel confident that they're safe, comfortable, and receiving attention.
Information Jonathan A. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for your pet, I'd like to know about their normal routine, personality, energy level, and anything that makes them particularly comfortable or uncomfortable. It's especially important for me to know about any medical conditions or medications, allergies, dietary restrictions, behavioral concerns, separation anxiety, fears or triggers, and how they normally interact with other animals and people. For dogs, I'd also like to know about their leash behavior, recall, commands they know, and whether they have any history of pulling, escaping, resource guarding, or aggression. For overnight stays, knowing their feeding, walking, sleeping, and bathroom routines helps me keep things as familiar as possible. The more I know about your pet beforehand, the better I can adapt my care to their individual needs and keep them safe and comfortable.
A typical day
I like to match activities to each pet's personality, energy level, age, and normal routine. For active dogs, that can mean walks, exploring the neighborhood, playing fetch, tug-of-war, or practicing basic commands with positive reinforcement. For more relaxed or senior pets, I'm happy to enjoy slower walks, gentle play, and plenty of companionship and attention. With cats, I enjoy interactive play with their favorite toys, exploring what keeps them engaged, or simply giving them company and affection when they want it. I always follow the owner's preferences and pay attention to the pet's boundaries—the goal is for them to have fun while feeling comfortable and safe.

Lifelong Animal Lover & Experienced
Pet care experience
Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up with pets and have been around dogs since I was about seven years old. I also spent time every week on my family's farm, where I became comfortable around many different animals, including dogs, cats, horses, cows, bunnies, turtles, chickens, and ducks. Throughout my life, I've cared for multiple dogs of my own and have also pet sat for friends and family. I'm comfortable with walking, feeding, playtime, maintaining established routines, and reinforcing basic training such as sit, stay, come, leash manners, and house-training habits. Growing up around animals taught me to pay attention to their individual personalities and boundaries. I know that some dogs want to play immediately, while others need patience and time before they feel comfortable with someone new. I bring that same patience and attention to every pet I care for. I'll follow your instructions closely and do my best to keep your dog's routine consistent, safe, and enjoyable while you're away.

Reviews
I highly recommend Jonathan as a dog sitter. He is very caring, responsible, and trustworthy, and you can tell he genuinely loves dogs. He takes great care of them and always makes sure they are happy, safe, and comfortable. I feel completely comfortable leaving my dog with him because I know they are in good hands. He is attentive, reliable, and treats every dog like his own. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their pet.
I highly recommend jonathan as a dog caregiver! He takes care of my dog whenever I am on a trip and he is wonderful. Super responsible, caring, and reliable. He sends me updates and photos, so I can travel with total peace of mind. My dog (Chopper) adores him and always comes back happy and well cared for. 100% recommended!
