“Ashley was phenomenal taking care of our dog and two cats while we were out of town. She took time to come over and visit before our scheduled booking to get to know the animals. While we were out of town she was in constant communication with us and sent us multiple pictures of our pets. We would be happy to have her watch our pets again. Thank you so much Ashley!!!”

“I have used Rover before, I teach and train dog agility, and I work on Rover. I am particular. Sarah exceeded my expectations. My boys are timid with strangers, she completely won them over the first day and a week later I wasn’t sure they wanted us to come home. She has a way with dogs, she plays with them, gives them lots of attention, cuddles them and it shows - you can see in the pics they fell in love with her. Of course she is also very responsible, clean and sends the best pics! I am not giving Sarah a 5 star review… I’m giving her 10 ⭐️”

About: I’ve been taking care of pets - fish, dogs, cats, and birds primarily - for around 10 years. Possibly more. Absolutely love being able to assist elderly pups as well I’m currently a college student who has a lot of free time at various times during the day. Happily available to stay over as needed I play with and relax with the pets during the day and take them on walks as needed. Depending on age or size of the dog I try to give them one longer walk each day.

“Michele was great from start to finish. I am always apprehensive to leave my pets with strangers but after meeting her she put my mind at ease. She sent pictures and updates every day. My cats were happy and relaxed when I got back and my home clean. I would definitely use her service again and I am happy to recommend her.”

“Ana was an amazing pet sitter! We lost power while away and she stayed the whole time with our kitty. We really appreciated the extra effort she made and would highly recommend her!”

“Madeline was absolutely phenomenal; super communicative, sent me updates of how things were going, and friendly. Most importantly, my dog was well taken care of and had a great time. Madeline truly went above and beyond in every way possible.”

“This is the first time Tess cared for my 2 cats. She was terrific. And I am already scheduled with her again! You wouldn’t know she slept here as she is super neat and tidy. She tried to entice the timid cat out with treats and even food bowls to her hiding place behind the washing machine! The cats acted as usual upon my return, reassuring me that Tess was engaged with them, and kept them company during my absence. What more could you want in a cat sitter? Thank you Tess👍”

“Aryanna took wonderful care of our two kitty boys for a week! They were very happy when we arrived home and we know they were happy while we were gone with the pictures that were taken! Also Aryanna checked in daily with us to let us know everything was going well. The apartment looks the same as we left it, the trash was taken out, and packages were brought up without even asking! If you need a pet sitter Aryanna is the way to go!”

“Destinée was incredible with our kitties! Even our shy girl loved her right away. She was very kind and responsive and sent lots of photos. We will definitely be booking with her again soon. Definitely recommend!”

About: I have had 10 years of dog sitting experience. I have cared for many different breeds and sizes of dogs, including labs, goldens, terriers, spaniels, frenchies, bull dogs, and more! Some specific dog experience I have included giving medications, watching puppies, and watching multiple dogs at once. I have had my own sweet dog for 8 years, so I understand the stress and worry that can come with leaving your dog with a sitter. Because of this experience myself, my goal is to be able to provide you with transparency, respect, warmth, and kindness. I love to send photos of your pets to you while you are away! I am currently a graduate student and work as a mental health therapist. My schedule is not the most “traditional,” which means I have flexibility during the day and my schedule depends on the day of the week. I have the ability to check on your pets throughout the day and give them all the love they deserve. I am someone who thrives on a schedule or routine, so I will be sure to follow your pet’s typical routine! Whenever I dog sit for a family, I feel honored and grateful to be trusted to not only care for their loved pet, but to be in their home. I am a very careful and respectful person, so I will always be sure to follow the rules I am left with. I value your space and your home, so I will be sure to leave your home clean and oragnized!
“Came home to a tidy house and two very cuddly pets. Our dog is pretty high needs in terms of attention, and our cat is terrified of new people. We got plenty of pics and updates over the 10 days we were out, and by the end of their time together the cat was actually coming out to spend time with her and the dog, which normally would take him months of meeting a person. Cannot recommend enough, and would absolutely book again.”

“Amanda and her daughter were INCREDIBLE!!! They were so attentive to our pups and gave them just as much love as we do when we’re home! I was completely at ease with them there!!! Pups were always smiling and tails wagging!! Very communicative and respectful!! Will for sure be booking her again!!!”

“Kat is absolutely wonderful! She's amazing with the animals, super responsive, and just really friendly and helpful. She was very thorough, she sent us lots of pictures, and she let the animals snuggle with her in bed, even comforting our terrified pup through a couple of summer thunderstorms. We will definitely book again.”

“We truly could not have asked for a better dogsitter. She cared for our Labrador, Skye, for 14 days while we were out of state for spring break, and she was an absolute blessing to our family. She treated Skye with so much tenderness and attention, walking her multiple times a day and making sure she was loved and comfortable the entire time. What meant the most to us, especially to my teen daughter, was how thoughtful she was with communication. She consistently sent updates, messages, and pictures, even texting my daughter directly so she wouldn’t miss Skye too much. Before leaving, she even left my daughter something special that included a Polaroid of Skye, that my daughter now keeps in her phone case. That level of care and compassion meant everything. And to top it all off, we came home to a clean, tidy house. She went above and beyond by picking up, washing Skye’s blankets, and even giving her a bath. As a mother of four (plus our dog!), walking into a clean home after travel was truly the highlight. She took initiative in ways we never expected and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We are beyond grateful and would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely caring. Kim is a true gem. 🐾”

Absolutely great! My dogs are very scared when left alone over the 4th of July and they felt very secure with her there. Our cat is also a very needy boy who constantly demands whatever he wants and she handled it perfectly. She also gave a ton of pictures and gave a lot of updates. I would definitely book again!

Jessica sat with my girl Lilly for 6 days and did a stellar job. She is exceedingly professional but also compassionate and kind. She sent me numerous photos of Lilly to keep me posted and Lilly looked alert and happy in every one. This was only the second time I've had a dog sitter and I am still anxious about the process. But Lilly is 13 (albeit with lots of puppy energy) and I just don't want to leave her in a kennel cage anymore. I was not worried for one minute while away. And when I returned, I was happy to see her in good health and spirit and thee house exactly as I left it. I recommend Jessica without reservation.

I’ve used Kayla more than once and always have a great experience. She took excellent care of my two dogs and cat for two weeks, sent daily photo updates, and left our home clean—even washing the sheets before she left. She’s also very flexible and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Yolanda and Jayah house sat and watched my 2 dogs and 2 cats for 4 nights while my husband and I went on our babymoon. My pets are a little high maintenance (dogs are rambunctious and cats need meds) so it can be hard to find reliable care for that amount of time. Yolanda was a thorough communicator throughout our trip, and eliminated any anxiety I may have had about leaving my fur babies behind. Jayah clearly has a special gift with animals, and made fast friends with all of them. The house looked just as I left it, and all instructions were followed. I hope to hire this dynamic duo again the next time we are out of town, and highly recommend them to anyone else needing overnight care.

As always, Wydia was very communicative with us throughout our vacation to keep us updated on how our cat, Clea, was doing. She made sure to give Clea her insulin shots twice a day, along with everything else Clea needs (fresh water, food, playtime, etc.) Thank you, Wydia!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Simpsonville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Simpsonville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Simpsonville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
