“Baily was great! She was able to accommodate a last minute request and even took time to meet up with me beforehand. Great with my 1 yr old dog! Timely and sent lots of pictures! Will definitely be booking with her again!”

“We have had a great experience with our drop in visits from Mandy. She was able to be flexible with our schedule, and the dogs seemed so happy and well taken care of when we got back from our vacation. Thanks Mandy!”

“Whitney was wonderful taking care of our two cats when we were away during a big snow storm! She sent us updates each day and not only made sure their needs were met, but spent time to play and socialize with them daily. It’s great to have someone trustworthy nearby for our cats in the future!”

“Jenny consistently goes above and beyond to care so lovingly for my cat when I’m away. She gives thoughtful and thorough updates which always makes me feel better when we’re apart!”

“Katie is absolutely amazing!! This was the first time I had to leave my two cats (my children) without a family member to watch them. I was away for only a week, but I was incredibly worried. Katie absolved all those worries! I was able to fully enjoy my vacation knowing she was going to be there for my girls every evening (^: I received videos and pictures everyday, plus a detailed review of how my girls were doing. She was very communicative throughout the whole week, even when I was unreachable for much of the day. I forgot to take the garbage out before I left, but she took it out for me which I was greatly appreciative of!!! She even took care of my precious plants! If you’re worried about leaving your fur babies when you go away, fear not! Katie is wonderful!!”

“Jo took great care of my cat Rory. At first Rory was timid but Jo was kind and patient and they quickly became friends. She left great notes after each visit and kept me assured that Rory was in great hands. Can’t wait to rebook.”

About: **About me** Hello pet friends! My name is Taylor and I currently live with my wife, son, two daughters, and one dog, Charlie! I work as a high school math teacher and my wife telecommutes from home. We love Charlie who is an intricate part of our family! Nothing is better than coming home and snuggling with the dog(s) on our couch! **About my home/services** We have a lovely 1800 sq. ft house with a dog that would love a companion for the day, night, or weekend! We keep our house clean except for the many dog toys which can be spread across the house while we play. We have a great outdoor area which is fully enclosed by fencing!! Great for playing fetch or just enjoying some sunshine! Between my wife and me, there will always be supervision of your pet. **About my neighborhood** We live in a culdesac which has very little traffic in a quiet neighborhood. Our backyard is our main method for dogs to use the restroom but we can always accomodate or walk dogs on leash through the neighborhood. **What to expect** Your dog can become part of our pack! We usually take our dog out to use the restroom every 3-4 hours. Charlie is a great snuggler and loves getting comfy on the couch. Additionally when feeling spunky we play fetch, tug of war, and run around the house! **Special rules or requests** Dogs must be friendly to our dog and be good with my son who is 12 and my daughters who are 8 and 3 years old. If any of this sounds unsure, this might not be the fit for staying with us...Otherwise we can't wait! My wife is always home so we can accompany dogs 24/7. We have an enclosed backyard to accommodate many bathroom breaks. We make sure to keep close watch on all our visitors! We have one dog and three kids and your dog will fit right into the pack! Whether your dog is active or likes to snuggle on the couch we are ready!
“Bridgette has been very reliable and has been flexible when I needed to change a booking last minute. My dog Roscoe can be very fearful at times and he liked her immediately!”
“My dog had a blast hanging at home with Melinda dropping in on him while I was out of town! She was very communicative, all visits were timely. She was vigilant in accommodating concerns I had with neighborhood dogs and keeping my dog safe. We’ll definitely book with her again!”
“Laura was so easy to work with and I felt reassured knowing she would be dropping in to give the boys some love and attention during a particularly long day. I look forward to working with her again!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Silver Lake
I can't recommend Jenny enough! She has always been so attentive and caring with Bert, and I know he's in great hands every time she watches him. She was just caring for him while I was dealing with a family emergency, and it gave me such peace of mind knowing he was being so well cared for. She's reliable, communicative, and truly treats Bert like her own. We're so grateful for her and will absolutely continue booking with her!

Ava was wonderful and attentive to our animals. Our dog was sick and needed lots of medicine for the entire week and she made sure he got what he needed every day at the right time and was comfortable. She gave the kitty snuggles and made sure he stayed inside and was well cared for. She was a great communicator and answered all my questions and check-ins graciously. I'd highly recommend her to anyone.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Silver Lake. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
