“Cameron was great at taking care of Jojo and Lacey! He gave a step-by-step breakdown of the visit and always sent photos of them. They couldn’t have been happier!”

“Sarah is fantastic! My cat has special needs (although you’d never know) so I’m super particular about who watches my boy. That said, I would request her to watch my kitty again, hands down! She followed directions, was super communicative, and allowed us to fully enjoy our vacation without worrying about our cat the whole time. We got back and Leo was screaming his head off because he missed us, but we know Sarah spent the time to sit with him and give him love and we all couldn’t appreciate that more. (Thank you, Sarah!)”

About: Dog and cat owner for over 18 years. I also have had hermet crabs and an axolotl - love all animals! They all have a unique personality and it's so fun to get to know them. Just a girl who was not able to have animals as a child so I have an entire adulthood to make up for that surrounding myself with the best creatures out there - animals! We can learn so much as people from animals and showing how we care for animals reflects who we are. I currently am a mom at home with kids in school so I have availability during the day and am flexible for evenings as well. I have a dog, 2 cats and an axolotl. It's important animals feel safe with me so I let them take the lead and I engage with them when they show they are ready. I'm happy to do what you as the client feel comfortable with and need for your fur babies to feel safe and comfortable.
About: I’ve grown up with dogs, cats and many more pets my entire life. I consider pets as part of the family and love them so much! I have been involved in animal rescue and rehabilitation since I was 10 years old. I have multiple years of experience caring for dogs and cats, and other pets. I have even cared for medically complicated dogs and cats. I have experiencing with animals that have had diabetes, heart disease, muscular skeletal disease, and many more ailments. I am very comfortable with administering medication. Currently my dog has epilepsy so I understand and empathize with the extra love and care required when treating medical conditions. I love animals more than anything, and love to care for them. My schedule is open during weekdays. Sometimes I am able to be available on weekends with enough of a notice. Please just let me know! I have a fenced in backyard and have multiple leashes, poop bags and other pet care tools of my own, that I always keep on hand.
About: Dogs have been part of my family for as long as I can remember. Most recently that’s been Chia, a sweet 4-year-old golden retriever I’ve raised since she was a tiny puppy. Before her, I raised Enzo, a loyal and smart German Shepherd, and Lily, a rescue who taught me how much patience, trust, and a little extra love can change a dog’s life. After more than 20 years as a 3D artist in the video game industry, I’m taking on dog walking and sitting part-time, and it fits my schedule perfectly. I have flexible weekday availability, which means I can offer reliable midday walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays without rushing between commitments. My days are built around plenty of outdoor time, so your pup will get consistent walks, play, and companionship rather than being squeezed into a busy schedule. My career taught me to be detail-oriented, dependable, and good at clear communication, all of which carry over to caring for your dog. I’ll stick to their routine, note anything unusual, and keep you updated with photos along the way.

“I truly cannot say enough about Zeryab’s service- they're aren't enough stars! She fit our beloved pet in same-day, cared for him better than we do, sent photos and feedback at every visit, and simply went above and beyond. You and your pets are blessed to book her- thank you eternally, Zeryab!”

“My boyfriend and my work schedule is super sporadic and random. Oftentimes we need to message Jodie same day. She is ALWAYS so responsive and consistent in getting back to us. She really saves us on busy days. She also is amazing with our dog, Lincoln. I would recommend her to anyone in the Snohomish county area”

“Erica was such a pleasure to work with and my cats seemed to enjoy each of her visits from the photos she shared. I will definitely reach out to her again the next time I need a cat sitter.”

About: I grew up caring for my family’s cats and dogs, and I currently have two cats of my own. I also spent six months at a dog boarding and training facility, where I cared for dogs of all sizes, personalities, and needs. During that time, I gained hands-on experience with everything from dogs who were learning how to walk on a leash for the first time to dogs who struggled with fear, reactivity, and aggression towards people or other dogs. I learned the importance of patience, consistency, trust, and meeting each dog where they are. I’m also the go-to pet sitter for friends and regularly provide in-home stay, caring for multiple pets at a time. Whether your pet needs a little extra patience, lots of playtime, or simply a calm and loving presence, I’m committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. As a pet owner myself, I understand how hard it can be to leave your pet behind. I’ll treat them like my own and do everything I can to give you peace of mind while you’re away. I work a flexible full-time hybrid job, which allows me to offer a wide range of availability throughout the week. I’m available for daytime visits, walks, and overnight stays, with weekend availability when scheduled in advance. I’m happy to work with your pet’s routine and provide consistent, attentive care. When caring for pets in your home, I’ll maintain their normal routine, provide plenty of love and attention, and keep their space clean and comfortable. I’ll treat your home with the same care and respect I give my own.
About: Let me care for your fur baby as if it were my own! I have owned dogs, cats and horses and am excited to get to know yours! I'm transitioning out of corporate America so am available Monday-Fridays from 8am-4pm but can flex those hours if needed. Look forward to taking care of your pet! I can accommodate almost any pet need and will treat your home with the utmost care and respect. Gates, keys, whatever you have, I'll take care of it like it were my own.
“Hanyu was wonderful with Simba! She was very attentive, followed all of his instructions, and made me feel completely comfortable having her care for him. Simba seemed happy and well cared for, and I really appreciated the updates while she was with him. She’s reliable, kind, and clearly great with dogs. We’re so happy to have found her and would definitely recommend her! 😊”

“Jennifer is absolutely incredible. She was so flexible with our wildly last minute request and took such great care of our boys. They were so excited and energized to see us when we returned, not something we can say after visits with all sitters. I cannot recommend Jennifer enough.”

About: I recently lost my dog and have been really missing him. Rover seems like a great way to fill some of that void and get more dog (and cat) time. I have lots of experience taking care of both my own dog and my friend's dogs and cats. I'm truly an animal lover and will give your pets the attention and love they deserve. <3 I currently have lots of flexibility in my schedule, including lots of time for midday, morning, and afternoon walks. The more in advance you book, the more flexible my schedule is, but I am generally available weekdays between 10:30am and 4pm. I'll try to mirror your pet's usual routine and preferences as much as possible while getting to know them both in and outside the home.
“I made a last minute booking and Laurel graciously accepted. She took care of my elderly kitty and sent me several pictures. I am very grateful for her help and would for sure book again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Silver Firs
Sarah was so wonderful with my seven month old puppy. Sarah was exceptional - she was reliable, knowledgeable, and kind hearted. You can tell she’s an animal person! Kovah loved her time with Sarah and her detailed notes were appreciated. We would definitely love to work with her again. Highly recommend Sarah for any of your pet sitting needs!

We absolutely loved having Paris take care of our two senior cats. She initially came over prior to our scheduled trip for an animal visit/interview which was extremely helpful for them to become familiar with her. We left some written instructions on feeding and general care which she followed to a ‘T’. She also messaged frequently with updates as well as took 10+ photos each time she came for a scheduled visit. She did a great job setting us at ease as we don’t travel often and worry about the cats becoming lonely when we’re away. I would rate her over 5 stars if I could. I strongly recommend Paris if you are going out of town and need drop in visits for your beloved pets.
Stella (Yishan) is an absolute star! Finding a sitter you trust with full access to your home and the care of your cats can be nerve wracking, but Stella made us feel 100% confident from day one. She gave our cats so much love and attention, keeping us in the loop every single day with detailed notes and adorable photos. Every instruction was followed to a tee, and she treated our property with complete respect. We returned home to calm, happy cats and a spotless space just as we left it. We couldn't ask for a better sitter!

Mckenna is amazing! She is very communicative and flexible. My cat is quite shy and typically hides while I’m away but she made him feel so comfortable that he came out to spend time with her each day. I am so grateful that she took such good care of him, it made traveling substantially less stressful knowing that he was safe and getting some love.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
