About: I’ve been around pets my entire life, growing up in a family that always had two dogs. As the eldest, I naturally took on a lot of the responsibility, feeding, walking, bathing, cleaning up, helping with training, and of course giving plenty of love and playtime. Beyond my own pets, I’ve also cared for neighbors’ dogs and cats, always making sure to follow their instructions carefully so each pet feels comfortable and cared for just the way their family would want.😊 Working from home gives me the flexibility to be fully present for your pets throughout the day. I naturally take breaks often, which I love to spend playing, walking, or giving them attention so they feel happy and cared for. Since I can bring my work with me, I’m also able to stay in your home as long as needed; making sure your pets have company, comfort, and consistent care without ever feeling alone. When I care for pets in their own home, I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their familiar space. I follow your routines closely so everything feels consistent for them. Since I work from home, I can spend plenty of time with your pets, giving them attention throughout the day. My goal is to treat them like family and make sure they’re happy, relaxed, and never feel alone.
About: I’ve ran my own pet sitting business for the last 6 years at my home and have enjoyed it! I absolutely love animals and am ready to give back to the Harrisonburg community by helping pets in need of care and extra love!! Although I have a busy schedule, I available most days in the evening for dog walking! I walk everyday after work and would love to have some furry company. Ciarra took such wonderful care of our cats while we were away. One of our cats has diabetes so it was critical we found someone with experience administering insulin shots. She took extra time to pet them and play with them and gave us thorough updates. I will definitely book her in the future and highly recommend her.
My cat is almost 19 and has a lot of medical issues and requires multiple medications and subcutaneous fluids. Even though he is usually pretty good about all that, he still requires a lot more than most cats. Kayla and Demetrius agreed to learn how to do the subcutaneous fluids when they came for the meet and greet. They were able to give him all his needed pills and the fluids along with giving various foods when here to get him to eat as much as possible. They were great with daily communication to let me know what all they did for him that day. They seem to really enjoy being around animals and taking care of them and I would recommend them.

This is the second time I’ve booked Corinne to help look after our cat while we’ve been out of town. She is communicative, professional, and does a great job taking care of our cat’s needs for love, attention, and treats. Kelley was amazing! My puppy is an older dog and not use to being with out us - Kelley was very communicative as how Cotton was doing every time she visited. If something was up she would reach out, which made me feel comfortable with an elder dog. By the second day Cotton was doing so much better. I felt so comfortable having her take care of my baby girl. Kelley is a keeper!
Lee was absolutely wonderful with my cat Theo. From the first day, he was dependable, caring, and gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that he cruelly cared about the well being of Theo, and I appreciated the updates and attention he provided. Although right now I no longer need cat services, I can’t recommend Lee highly enough. Carolyn was so attentive to my fur babies. I have an elderly dog which also needed medication care. she always sent pics daily and let me know just how they were doing. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
