“This was our first time using Rover. Riley was helpful in explaining how it worked. She watched our cat for several visits for two days. For each visit she sent information on how the visit went. Unfortunately our kitty would run and hide after greeting her so she couldn’t get many pictures. She even went and found him and sat trying to convince him to come out! He ate well during her visits and she was kind to clean up the dirty cat bowls each time! It’s also very comforting knowing Riley has experience working in a vet clinic.”

About: I am a professional baseball player and an absolute animal lover. I grew up with a very energetic pup, and now have 2 cats that I absolutely adore. I also have plenty of experience dog/cat sitting for neighbors/family/friends. Excited to meet and play with all kinds of new animals! P.S. i do realize I am new to this and don’t have any reviews, you you may br hesitant to book me. I promise I will not fall short of your expectations! Still waiting on my first review to get things kick started. I play professional baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates. I am string and capable of handling even the most energetic of pups. I am obligated to training/working out from 9 am until around noon each day. I have the rest of the day to myself, which means plenty of time for the animals! My cats are absolutely spoiled. Between toys, cats trees, the best food, pets, (and sometimes butt smacks for the little cat), there is no shortage of love for the cats in my household. I will cater to every pet owners needs, as well as the animals needs. I will bring love and effort into every household i step into.

About: I’ve cared for dogs my entire life, growing up in a home with multiple pups of all sizes. From feeding and bathing to long walks and playtime, I’ve always been hands-on in making sure they’re happy and well cared for. In addition to dogs, I’ve also raised birds, turtles, and fish, so I’m comfortable caring for a variety of animals. I understand that every pet has its own personality and needs, and I always aim to make them feel safe, loved, and at home. I currently work from home so I’m able to provide physical comfort and stimulation via petting and playing with toys. We also have a dog park where I can take your pet for off leash running around and fetching. I have experience providing oral medicine for dogs. I allow dogs on furniture and free roaming in the house, but if you have a crate and wish to bring it just let me know. Please provide any instructions on feeding schedule or items.

About: I’ve been around pets my entire life, growing up in a family that always had two dogs. As the eldest, I naturally took on a lot of the responsibility, feeding, walking, bathing, cleaning up, helping with training, and of course giving plenty of love and playtime. Beyond my own pets, I’ve also cared for neighbors’ dogs and cats, always making sure to follow their instructions carefully so each pet feels comfortable and cared for just the way their family would want.😊 Working from home gives me the flexibility to be fully present for your pets throughout the day. I naturally take breaks often, which I love to spend playing, walking, or giving them attention so they feel happy and cared for. Since I can bring my work with me, I’m also able to stay in your home as long as needed; making sure your pets have company, comfort, and consistent care without ever feeling alone. When I care for pets in their own home, I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their familiar space. I follow your routines closely so everything feels consistent for them. Since I work from home, I can spend plenty of time with your pets, giving them attention throughout the day. My goal is to treat them like family and make sure they’re happy, relaxed, and never feel alone.

About: I’ve ran my own pet sitting business for the last 6 years at my home and have enjoyed it! I absolutely love animals and am ready to give back to the Harrisonburg community by helping pets in need of care and extra love!! Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
