About: I’ve cared for dogs my entire life, growing up in a home with multiple pups of all sizes. From feeding and bathing to long walks and playtime, I’ve always been hands-on in making sure they’re happy and well cared for. In addition to dogs, I’ve also raised birds, turtles, and fish, so I’m comfortable caring for a variety of animals. I understand that every pet has its own personality and needs, and I always aim to make them feel safe, loved, and at home. I currently work from home so I’m able to provide physical comfort and stimulation via petting and playing with toys. We also have a dog park where I can take your pet for off leash running around and fetching. I have experience providing oral medicine for dogs. I allow dogs on furniture and free roaming in the house, but if you have a crate and wish to bring it just let me know. Please provide any instructions on feeding schedule or items.
“I will definitely book with Alexis the next time I need a pet sitter. You can really tell she has a heart for animals. She was extremely kind and took great care of my sweet pet Nugs. She asked to come a day early and learn how to take care of my Nugs and to pick up the house key and I loved the initiative. I also loved getting the opportunity to meet her before she took care of Nugs. Nugs does not warm up to everyone quickly, but was giving Alexis kisses (cute little licks) during her visits. About: I am a professional baseball player and an absolute animal lover. I grew up with a very energetic pup, and now have 2 cats that I absolutely adore. I also have plenty of experience dog/cat sitting for neighbors/family/friends. Excited to meet and play with all kinds of new animals! P.S. i do realize I am new to this and don’t have any reviews, you you may br hesitant to book me. I promise I will not fall short of your expectations! Still waiting on my first review to get things kick started. I play professional baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates. I am string and capable of handling even the most energetic of pups. I am obligated to training/working out from 9 am until around noon each day. I have the rest of the day to myself, which means plenty of time for the animals! My cats are absolutely spoiled. Between toys, cats trees, the best food, pets, (and sometimes butt smacks for the little cat), there is no shortage of love for the cats in my household. I will cater to every pet owners needs, as well as the animals needs. I will bring love and effort into every household i step into.
“My cat is almost 19 and has a lot of medical issues and requires multiple medications and subcutaneous fluids. Even though he is usually pretty good about all that, he still requires a lot more than most cats. Kayla and Demetrius agreed to learn how to do the subcutaneous fluids when they came for the meet and greet. They were able to give him all his needed pills and the fluids along with giving various foods when here to get him to eat as much as possible. They were great with daily communication to let me know what all they did for him that day. They seem to really enjoy being around animals and taking care of them and I would recommend them.”
About: I’ve ran my own pet sitting business for the last 6 years at my home and have enjoyed it! I absolutely love animals and am ready to give back to the Harrisonburg community by helping pets in need of care and extra love!! Although I have a busy schedule, I available most days in the evening for dog walking! I walk everyday after work and would love to have some furry company. If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
