“Henry really enjoyed staying with Jennifer! He was very comfortable at her house and loved the fenced in backyard. She took great care of him and had toys on hand he was happy to play with. Will definitely look to work with Jennifer in the future.”

“I can’t imagine ever leaving my dog with anyone else, Sheri and her family are FANTASTIC. They took such good care of my dog, sent daily updates with photos, threw my dog a birthday party, and went above and beyond literally every single day she was in their care. I highly recommend Sheri - she was communicative, kind, and flexible and I might just plan vacations around her availability in the future.”

“Wonderful experience. Emily and Abi took such good care of our CheChe! Communication was excellent and they made sure she had everything she needed to be healthy, happy and comfortable during her week-long stay.”

“I can never say enough about about her wonderful services. My dog is older and has some special abilities that need to be tended to. She has dogs herself that are gentle and playful that supplies my dog with a plenty of playmates. She also never kenneled my dog which was a big worry for me. Time and time again I would never choose anyone else to take care of my sweet boy.”

“I had the pleasure of leaving my puppy with Shanisse and Kim for 1 week while I went away. I can't lie leaving my puppy that long was extremely hard for me. She sent me pictures and videos of Coco multiple times of the day. They have a really big closed in backyard and she seemed to love running around in it. As far as Coco being in the she house she was in her own space that was sort of "fenced" in with appropriate pet friendly gates. She had her own "condo" space. They did have one dog and a cat that coco got along with but I do not believe they had much interaction. I left food, toys and instructions that I do believe they followed. The communication was very good with Shanisse and Kim. I did not have much communication with Shanisse in person but more with Kim. They seem to work well together one for caring for the pets and one for the online support. Overall my experience was very good and I will be booking again. For reference my puppy is a cavapoo and is an out 15lbs. She did very well in their home. The posting says dogs allowed on furniture but I am not sure if she was in their furniture or not because I left her own bedding and she had her own little condo.”

“As always, Matt is a fantastic dogsitter. He took great care of our Dalmatian and Dachshund while we were out of the country, even giving extra love and TLC to our little girl when she had some tummy upset.”

“Took the best care of my girl!! So happy and relieved she’s in great hands. Had a pleasant meet and greet which solidified our decision. My dog had a number of specific needs and she met everyone of them. Sent daily updates and had great communication! Happy to use anytime, as is my dog!”

“I absolutely recommend Natasha. My elderly collie has hearing and vision loss. As a result, he now has significant anxiety if we leave him alone for more than a couple hours. The last couple times we had caregivers take care of him at home overnight, he refused to eat and developed gastrointestinal issues. He didn't have any anxiety or gastro issues at Natasha's because he got to be a part of their family. He had other dogs to play with and Natasha's family all gave him so much love. Natasha sent us lots of pictures and updates. It was a wonderful experience for us all! Thank you so much Natasha!”

“Dawn was so sweet taking care of my puppy! It was my first time leaving him for an extended period of time and Dawn made the whole experience completely stress free! I got pictures and updates 3 times a day and it was evident that Willie was having a great time :) I can’t recommend Dawn highly enough!”

“Laura was absolutely amazing! This was my first time leaving Bandit with someone other than friends, family, or a boarding facility, so I was super nervous. However, receiving pictures and updates helped ease my anxiety so much. Bandit definitely had a great time, and I truly appreciate Laura and her family treating him like one of their own. He was completely exhausted when we got home and went straight to sleep, which is a good thing!”

“Zach and Kelsey were fantastic with my dog! She came home happy after a great stay, and I loved getting photo updates twice during the day. Their care and thoughtfulness made the whole experience easy and worry-free.”

“Five-star experience! Boone was so well-cared for and clearly loved the extra attention from the whole family. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend stay. Michelle is super communicative and flexible, making everything very easy.”
“Grace was so welcoming for Oliver's first stay. He enjoyed her yard and hanging with her dogs and their toy basket. Grace shared lots of updates and made sure Oliver was able to settle in quickly. I felt he was in great hands while we were out of town and I look forward to Oliver spending his next stay with Grace.”

“This is my second time with Shakita and she did an amazing job as always!! She pays close attention to my Yorkie and he loves going over there. Definitely book if you’re considering!!”

About: Hi! I recently moved to Richmond and am excited to meet some new furry friends! I grew up with a Cockapoo who was a huge part of my life and recently passed away from old age. He had diabetes, so I got firsthand experience caring for a dog who truly depended on his humans. I love spending time with dogs, playing with them, and even teaching them tricks—I taught my dog how to roll over! I’ll treat your dog with the same care, attention, and love I would want for my own. I currently work in Ashland 8-5, M-F. Depending on where it’s at, I can be there during lunch break quick, and also in the evenings after work! Weekends are usually pretty wide open for me. I am flexible! I have a 1bd room apartment so it is easy to keep an eye on the pup and give them loving while you are gone! As well as open patches off grass, walking trails, and parks nearby.
“Nasha was an amazing dog sitter and gave daily updates! She even took care of Elske when she had an allergic skin reaction by putting ointment on her! She seems to have had a nice relaxing time with Nasha!”

Lauren did great taking care of my 13 yr old girl. Her residence is in a quiet and friendly neighborhood, great for taking walks. I could quickly tell that her children love dogs, so there will be no shortage of attention given to your fury friend while you are away. I recieved daily updates and she was very attentive to my dogs needs. Your pup is in good hands with Lauren.

I recently booked a one-night boarding stay for my dog, Chief, and had a great experience. From the start, communication was clear and responsive, which helped me feel at ease leaving him in someone else’s care. Chief can sometimes take a little time to warm up, but he seemed comfortable and well cared for during his stay. I really appreciated the updates and photos—it made a big difference knowing he was doing well and settling in. When I picked him up, he was relaxed and happy, which says a lot about the environment and care he received. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this sitter to anyone looking for reliable and attentive care. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

Samar took care of our dog for 2 weeks and did a wonderful job. She was able to care for his needs by giving him his medications. Charlie came home happy and healthy. She was highly responsive and sent plenty of pictures to make us comfortable that he was in good hands.

Ziggy had an overnight stay with Jessica. Jessica was prompt to respond from the initial booking to picking Ziggy up the next day. She made sure Ziggy was very comfortable -- taking him on walks, providing a comfy bed, and loaning him food/water bowls. From the photo she sent, and how tired but happy he was the next day, I could definitely tell Ziggy had a wonderful stay and would 100% recommend Jessica to anyone!!

Where do I start?! I would rather gatekeep Ryan so he’s only available for my dog, however I couldnt recommend him more. Ryan did amazing with Paris! I loved the daily photoshoots and updates the most. He is very attentive to the needs of your dog and is willing to go above and beyond to make sure your dog gets everything they need and more. Most of all Paris loved him and his girlfriend and Im sure she cant wait until her next visit.

Priyal is so kind, responsive, flexible and absolutely wonderful! Toby stayed for 10 days and was very well taken care of. Priyal sent pictures of Toby every day and made sure we knew everything going on. Toby got plenty of attention, walks and lots of love and caring. Toby had such a great time and came home happy. I’ll definitely be sending him back here whenever we need dog care! Highly recommend her!!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
