About: I moved from Mi to Wa in 2015 and decided in 2018 to be a dog walker. That was in King county and after moving to a house in 2021, dog boarding turned into my new side job. Last year I also enrolled in Victoria Stilwell’s Academy for positive training. So I am very aware of dog’s body language and needs. I absolutely love dogs and they are truly my life now but when I was 8 that wasn’t the case. I was bit in the face by a family friend’s dog. He was old and on medication, I startled him awake which led to him biting me. From this incident, I watched Victoria Stilwell on animal planet to get over my fear of bigger dogs and here I am today with a certification in dog training and starting my career with human’s best friend. My goal is for you and your dog to be as comfortable as possible. I only treat dogs/pets as I would want someone to treat mine (and believe me I am a high maintenance pet mom 😉) Dogs are my job. Whether it is boarding, sitting, or walking; this is what I do full time. Sometimes I do Instacart to get out a bit but will do that when my boyfriend is home. I am starting up my bath bomb business again so to have a companion working alongside with me is my ideal work day. My boyfriend works from home majority of the time, so there is always someone home. His kids do come over 50% of the week and are very kind and helpful with dogs that are boarding with me. They are 12 and 11 so they aren’t little kids. I have lick mats, Kong Gyro, and plenty of space for your dog to have fun at my house. My house is fenced in, we are updating the property all the time to make sure it is safe as possible. For larger dogs, I have a bell on a ziptie to put on your dog’s collar just so I can hear where they are at all times when I am outside with them. For smaller pups, I always go outside with them due to being in an open area so they are safe. I also have a 30’ leash that I can hook them to for extra safety. Inside, I make them as comfortable as possible. Whatever they like at home I try my best to provide at my house.

“Anne took wonderful care of Chicky while I was away. From the moment we connected, I felt completely at ease knowing my girl was in such loving and capable hands. Anne provided regular updates, photos, and little check-ins that made the distance so much easier. It was clear that Chicky felt comfortable, safe, and genuinely cared for. I came home to a happy, relaxed kitty — the biggest testament to Anne’s attention and kindness. I’m so grateful for her help and would absolutely trust her again with Chicky’s care. Highly recommend.”

“We had to book last minute travel due to a family emergency, and Maria was able to accommodate us on short notice. Communication was great, and she was flexible with our needs and updates. Our Maltese, Marley, doesn’t do well with other dogs, so boarding would have been extra stressful. We really appreciated being able to schedule three drop-in visits per day. Thanks for taking care of our fur babies while we were away!”

About: Hello! I have owned dogs for the past 10 years, and have been dog sitting for 5 years. My goal is to keep them happy and healthy. I will treat every dog in my care like my own. Hello! I have a full-time job and offer services to care for or walk dogs on the side. I have a collie mix named Sadie who has taught me a lot as a dog owner. I love all pets especially dogs, and it is a joy to see a smile on a dog’s face. I treat every dog in my care like my own in that I believe the physical and mental health is important to a happy dog. It can be a little stressful for a dog to be in a new environment with a new person, so I like to keep their routine the best I can.

About: Hi, I’m Rosa! With 12 years of experience caring for dogs, I know that every pup has their own personality, routine, and little quirks that make them special. I share my home with my 11-year-old Yorkie, who is still playful and full of personality. Caring for a senior dog has taught me how important patience, attentiveness, and understanding each dog’s individual needs can be. My goal is to make your dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved—and to give you peace of mind while you’re away. Whether your pup enjoys neighborhood walks, exploring the park, playing fetch, or simply relaxing with a trusted companion, I’ll tailor our time together to their energy level and preferences. I’m happy to follow your instructions for feeding, walks, medication, crate use, and rest so your dog can maintain a familiar routine. I understand that leaving your pet with someone new can feel like a big decision. That’s why I value clear communication, thoughtful care, and regular photo updates through Rover, so you can see how your pup is doing. I’m available for boarding on most weekdays after 2 PM, with flexibility depending on my schedule. Before booking, I’d love to learn about your dog’s temperament, daily routine, favorite activities, and any special needs. I’d love to meet you and your pup and help them feel right at home! 🐶❤️ I currently work part-time, so I have plenty of flexibility to give your pup lots of attention. I’m available for boarding on most weekdays after 2 PM. I’m also happy to accommodate your dog’s usual feeding, walking, and rest schedule whenever possible. My priority is keeping every pup safe, comfortable, and supervised. I have a clean, dog-friendly home and an 11-year-old Yorkie who is friendly and used to having other dogs around. I’m happy to follow your instructions for feeding, walks, crate use, and routines, and I’ll make sure your dog has a calm space to relax when they need quiet time.

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, so I’m no stranger to the work that comes with taking care of them. I’ve helped care for entire puppy litters and have experience with end of life care as well. Over the years, I’ve been around dogs at all stages of life and have learned that no two dogs are exactly alike. I’m comfortable with the responsibility that comes with caring for someone else’s pet, and I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your dog. I have a flexible work schedule and can handle most of my work from home or my phone, which gives me plenty of flexibility to work pet care into my daily routine. I can plan my day around visits, walks, feeding, and spending time with your pet, while making sure they get the attention and care they need. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my priorities. I’ll respect your home, follow your instructions, and make sure your pet is cared for in a safe, familiar environment. I understand the trust involved in leaving your pet with someone else, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’ll keep you updated during visits and let you know if anything seems out of the ordinary. I have a dog of my own, so I’m mindful of making sure every pet is comfortable and safe when boarding. If your pet isn’t comfortable around other dogs, I can easily arrange for my dog to stay with family so your pet can have their own space.

I have decades of experience with dog sitting, boarding, and walking, as well as experience with a wide variety of breeds, personalities, and energy levels. Pet care is my full-time focus, which means I have a flexible schedule and can provide dependable, attentive care for your furry family members. During our time together, your dog will be treated like one of my own—with plenty of love, patience, exercise, enrichment, and personalized attention. Every day is tailored to the needs of the dogs in my care. Depending on the schedule, we may enjoy pack walks, solo adventures, enrichment sniffaris, park visits, or relaxing time at home. I balance exercise, mental stimulation, rest, and plenty of affection to ensure each dog has a safe, fun, and enriching experience. Safety is my top priority. About: I have taken care of dogs since my childhood, both my family dogs and those of friends and neighbors. I am comfortable giving oral medications as my dog takes daily oral medication. I have also watched our friends and neighbors cats since I was a teenager and know how special it is when they take a liking to you. My schedule is very flexible as I am currently between jobs after moving! Even when I start working it will be 3-4 days a week. My dog is not always dog friendly so I will not be bringing her on any walks. I can follow any specific directions you have about your pet as they are all unique!

Russell was absolutely wonderful with our girl, Moose! From the beginning, we felt completely comfortable leaving her in his care. He was kind, attentive, dependable, and clearly has a love for dogs. Russell took Moose on walks and sent us photos and updates while we were away, which we really appreciated. Seeing her happy and comfortable gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our time away without worrying. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for Moose! Ross was an absolute Godsend!! He took such good care of my kitties, and they warmed up to him rather quickly, even my shy girl Rosie. He kept in touch promptly and made sure to leave detailed notes after each visit. He was extremely accommodating as well, as maintenance had to change my locks while I was away and I also had a package delivered early... I informed him of all of this and he graciously changed my keys on my key ring and made sure my package made it inside safely. He went above and beyond the call of duty and I felt my kitties were in great hands. I would 100% book with him again!

I booked Amber to watch my kitties over the Christmas holiday. I came home to my kitties healthy, and thus grateful for their care. We did have some communication issues (her phone didn’t have service/not on and a missed drop in which I had to reach out to her first (hours later) to understand what was going on). I do want to say that she did remedy the issue in the end. My only critique is that I would have wanted her to find a way to communicate with me first when things arise that affect my pets feeding schedule so I could find an alternative solution, that way she could focus on any personal emergencies that pop up. Overall Amber is nice and friendly and I know with more pet-sitting experience she will be a well-sought after Rover sitter.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Shore Acres

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
