“Thank you Dani for the extra care you shown my home and GiGi. For my first experience using Rover and leaving GiGi in the care of someone else, was a good one. Thank you, again.”

“Christy’s done an amazing job with our fur baby! Our baby was adopted, and didn’t have the best start in life. Christy is great about respecting his needs and understanding that things really need to be at his pace. He really enjoys his time with his new BFF, Christy! And she makes things less stressful for me & my spouse as well!”

About: Hello! I have owned dogs for the past 10 years, and have been dog sitting for 5 years. My goal is to keep them happy and healthy. I will treat every dog in my care like my own. Hello! I have a full-time job and offer services to care for or walk dogs on the side. I have a collie mix named Sadie who has taught me a lot as a dog owner. I love all pets especially dogs, and it is a joy to see a smile on a dog’s face. I treat every dog in my care like my own in that I believe the physical and mental health is important to a happy dog. It can be a little stressful for a dog to be in a new environment with a new person, so I like to keep their routine the best I can.
About: I have taken care of and owned dogs and cats my whole life. I walk, feed, board, and care for my animals or when anyone else (family, friends, etc) need help. I currently own two dogs myself and have a large fenced yard for them. I am available for drop ins and walking during the week due to my work from home schedule. It does vary by week but I'll make sure to keep it updated. I can do drop ins or walk your pup from your home. I am comfortable with all size of dogs. I currently own two dogs, no crated, and a large yard
“We had to book last minute travel due to a family emergency, and Maria was able to accommodate us on short notice. Communication was great, and she was flexible with our needs and updates. Our Maltese, Marley, doesn’t do well with other dogs, so boarding would have been extra stressful. We really appreciated being able to schedule three drop-in visits per day. Thanks for taking care of our fur babies while we were away!”

About: I’ve never understood why chihuahuas loved me so much until I realized how much people don’t respect the boundaries of such small creatures. So much so, they feel the need to be aggressive and defend themselves! I know a good amount about dogs and dogs breeds, how different breeds have different needs and will strive to meet the needs of your fur-baby! I am a full-time Master’s student, but my classes are on weekends only. I have many things to read so overnights would likely be spent playing with your fur-baby before I get some reading done for my degree. To make sure you and your fur-baby feel safe with me in your home, I will make sure to talk through routines you may have with your pet(s). I know how hard it is to be away from your pet, so I will make sure to send photos and videos as requested. I want to make sure I know how to properly care for your pets, so I may have a couple extra questions to figure out how I may support you and your pet.

About: Hi, I’m Brendon! I’m a lifelong animal lover and currently have two dogs of my own, Finn, a golden retriever, and Oliver, a beagle. I’ve grown up around both dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and personalities, so caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life. I know how important it is to feel comfortable and confident about who is caring for your pet while you’re away. I’m dependable, easygoing, attentive, and flexible when it comes to following your pet’s normal routine, whether that means walks, playtime, feeding, medications, or simply plenty of attention and companionship. Every pet is different, and I’m happy to accommodate their individual needs and preferences to help them feel as comfortable and cared for as possible. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. I’d be happy to chat and learn more about you and your pet! I have a very flexible schedule and am happy to work around your pet’s normal routine. I can accommodate a variety of visit times, walks, drop-ins, and house-sitting needs throughout the week. I always try to keep pets as comfortable as possible by following their normal routine and paying attention to their individual personality and energy level. For dogs, I’m happy to adjust walks and playtime based on whether they enjoy longer, more active outings or prefer a slower pace with plenty of time to sniff and explore. For drop-in visits or house sitting, I make sure food, water, medications, potty breaks, litter boxes, and any other care instructions are handled exactly as requested. With cats, I respect their space and let them decide how much interaction they want, while still making sure they receive plenty of attention and care.
“Aurora is so kind and a friend to animals. She quickly responded to me and was available and attentive to my shih tzu, who looks super duper happy in the photos I received!! The photos were also of a variety I hadn’t seen before; usually I’ve received photos of Gizmo doing the same thing. Aurora took the time to take pictures of Gizmo walking, belly rubs, even a selfie. Awesome!!! I’m so thankful for the time, energy, and effort that Aurora spent with Gizmo and cannot wait to book again :) thank you!!”
About: Hi! I grew up locally on Fox Island with my family. We’ve always had 1-2 dogs at a time from puppy to elder. I’ve always taken on the responsibility that comes with dogs from a young age to now - feeding, play time, walks, cleaning and overall care. I have been active on Rover for the last four years and currently operate my own LLC. I reside in a quiet neighborhood at a dead end street with my six year old son - who is also great with dogs! My house includes a large fully fenced backyard - plenty of room for running, ball tossing and lounging. I have a flexible remote schedule which allows for ample potty breaks, outdoor time as well as extra care and attention! I am home with dogs for a majority of the time and generally do not leave them unattended for more than an hour for school drop-off, pickup, and local errand running. I use interior cameras and local pet sitters to accommodate dog schedules and monitoring if needed as well. I host multiple client’s pets at a time and am only taking on dogs that are friendly and get a long with other dogs. I do not currently have any pets of my own and have added interior cameras to monitor dogs if I’m away. I work with two local sitters as well to accommodate additional outdoor time, play time and potty breaks.
About: Growing up my family had a yellow lab and many members of my extended family also had dogs. As I got older and became independent, I would dog sit for my families’ pets. The dog sizes range from small dogs to bigger dogs and at various stages of their lives. I now live with my boyfriend who has a Great Pyrenees and a Goldendoodle. When dog sitting, I enjoy taking them out on walks, playing in the yard, and cuddling. I just moved to Tacoma and am still job hunting, and while that requires a lot of time, my days are free and flexible to meet you and your dog’s needs. I am good at following directions and can adapt to your dog. I have taken care of a senior dog where he required medicine at meal times. I enjoy taking walking with the dogs and giving them lots of attention.
“Kenji is my pup’s best friend. Lol I only took a week off and his absence was felt. I work ten hour days and knowing he’s popping in to check on my fur child and getting her outside really gives me peace of mind. He’s incredibly considerate and punctual. Having him this summer has made this career transition so much easier for my fur child and myself and as long as my finances allow, I’ll be reaching out to him for services. Thanks Kenji!”

“Ethan did a great job with Bravo! We have never left Bravo for this long and felt really comfortable leaving Bravo with Ethan. I'm pretty sure he kept him more entertained then we do an even brought him over a new toy, which he loves! Thanks, Ethan for taking such good care of Bravo and sending pics to us of him enjoying his day! We hope he is still with Rover when we need him again!”

About: I have cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish, horses, cows, chickens, and ducks from a very young age. For the last 13 years I have worked in the pet food industry developing a knowledge and passion for pet health, behavior and nutrition. My current work schedule is Tues-Sat, I am available for walks, potty breaks and feedings before or after my shifts. Sunday and Monday there is more flexibility in my schedule and I can do mid day drop ins or longer distance runs/walks with higher activity level pets. I would love to meet you and your pet to discuss any special needs or requirements for their care. I have a fenced yard and live in walking distance to a public park and school field that can be used before/after school hours. I prefer to work with your pet in the environment which they are most comfortable, your home. I am open to short stays at my home if that is what is best for your situation.

About: I’ve lived my whole life with animals. From ducks to dogs, there isn’t much I haven’t experienced. My calm and loving nature invites all animals in with confidence. I am confident with all sizes and demeanors. I am mama to an 85lbs lab named Benji and a 15lbs cavalier King Charles named Willow. Pet care is not just a service I offer; it is an essential, non-negotiable part of my daily life. As the owner of a dog named Benji, my schedule is already built around providing consistent, attentive, and loving care. This personal experience ensures that I understand the importance of routine, patience, and vigilance when caring for your pet. When caring for your pet in your own home, my priority is to maintain their normal routine to minimize stress and anxiety. I strictly follow your instructions regarding feeding schedules, walk routes, medications, and household rules. I prioritize home security by ensuring all doors, windows, and gates are securely locked, and I treat your living space with the utmost respect, always leaving it clean and exactly as I found it.
“Katey was great with my cat Douglas Fur! He took to her right away and now they are fast friends. She was prompt, kind, attentive and easy to work with. I will definitely be using Katey to take good care of Doug in the future!”
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cromwell
Katelyn has been amazing with my two little dogs! She has been patient as my shy and anxious girl, Cora, is getting to know her. My pup, Ruger, loved her from the first meeting. She is great with communication and very dependable. I'm so happy to have found her!

Russell was absolutely wonderful with our girl, Moose! From the beginning, we felt completely comfortable leaving her in his care. He was kind, attentive, dependable, and clearly has a love for dogs. Russell took Moose on walks and sent us photos and updates while we were away, which we really appreciated. Seeing her happy and comfortable gave us peace of mind and allowed us to enjoy our time away without worrying. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for Moose! We would absolutely trust Russell with her again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone who will genuinely care for their dog like their own.

This is the first time we have used Katiana. She came highly recommended from our neighbor. She dropped in the week before her visit to meet the dogs. Then she was very prompt about her arrival time when we had her stop to take care of the dogs midday. We will be relying on her for multiple-day needs in the future.
I booked Amber to watch my kitties over the Christmas holiday. I came home to my kitties healthy, and thus grateful for their care. We did have some communication issues (her phone didn’t have service/not on and a missed drop in which I had to reach out to her first (hours later) to understand what was going on). I do want to say that she did remedy the issue in the end. My only critique is that I would have wanted her to find a way to communicate with me first when things arise that affect my pets feeding schedule so I could find an alternative solution, that way she could focus on any personal emergencies that pop up. Overall Amber is nice and friendly and I know with more pet-sitting experience she will be a well-sought after Rover sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
