“Martha was fantastic with our cats. They like to hide when new people visit and she was able to get them to come out from their hiding spots on day one. She kept everything tidy, they have a tendency to go wild in the litter box. I felt confident that she would be able to handle any situation that may arise while we were gone. I highly recommend her.”

“Kara was excellent…my puppies were very happy with her, as I have 3 pups with three different personalities and she had handled all three wonderfully. Punctual, attentive & caring.”
“Amy was personable and professional, and she kept in touch with photo updates when we were away. I believe our sweet kitty was well cared for, and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again.”
“From the first day that I met Kyla, I felt very comfortable that she’ll be great with pups. Looking forward to working with Kyla getting to know my pups and my pups getting know to her.”

“Miranda was on time and very conscientious providing detailed updates on our dog and lots of photos that we loved! We felt at ease knowing she would be in good hands with Miranda. Will definitely book with her again!”

About: With 30 years of experience, previous dog training, your pup, senior, any age dog is in caring and attentive hands. I interact, play, talk and walk your pet. They have my attention 24/7 full time. I don't split my attention with work from home job so your loved one has literally 24/7 attention! Let's meet or chat and say HI ! I have a small dog of my own, a little whipper snapper Klee Kai who is a retired service dog. But he respects older dogs too. I am a good pet human to those I am caring for. Your dog has safe and spacious areas to play and there are walking/snowmobile trails very close by where I take longer walks 3-4 times a day weather permitting and depending on your dog's energy level . I have had hens, rabbits, dogs, birds, farm animals and plenty of other critters over the years so am very accustomed to caring for animals on a daily basis. I have dog training experience. Your dog must be house trained, spayed or neutered and know basic commands,be non aggressive and leash trained and have topical flea/tick treatment and be up to date on all vaccinations. Unless you direct, I don't put pets in a crate though I do have 2 available if you prefer I use it at night. Your pet is with me 24/7 so has company and supervision. I have a fully fenced area but it's NOT SUITABLE if your dog digs under fences or can jump a 4' fence! I live walking distance to really nice hiking/snow mobile trails. I keep dogs on a leash at all times except in my fenced area where they can stretch and for bathroom and play. I adjust my routine to your pet. This is my full time passion. I'm not a kid filling in time and do this because I absolutely love having your pup! I take your dog on multiple walks every day. If I am taking care of your pet in your home, they get the same attention while I'm at your home, though I do prefer boarding at my home. I require owners permission to transport your dog in my vehicle to the hiking trails since I won't cross any busier roads with any pet on a leash. It's safer to drive to them a few minutes away. Your pets are NEVER EVER left unattended and alone in my vehicle. Dogs must come clean (no bad or strong smells), food dishes, adequate food for the time they are with me, a favorite toy (though I have a full box of clean toys) and vet info in advance. PLEASE NOTE, DOGGY DAY CARE is any 8 hour period until 5:30 PM daily. Prefer 8:30 AM arrival but earlier is definitely possible too. After 8 hrs, it's an additional $10 hr. This site doesn't let me customize schedules with time frames. This is full time for me. Pick up/drop off is between 8:30AM - 5:30 PM but can be earlier or later with advance notice. Extended hours are available with prior notice and additional fee of $15 hr. Doggie day care is between 8:30AM- 5:30 PM (8 hrs per session between those hours. Day care is no more than 8 hrs for the flat daily rate. Overnight rates are 24 hrs and $15 hr will be added after 24 hrs I have a fenced yard which pets are free to be in unleashed. My front deck is gated so pets can be outside under cover. Back deck is also enclosed into the pet area and has a roof.
“I’m so happy to have met Alicia and have her care for my cats & chickens while I was away! She was so wonderful and responsive & sent so many picture of my cats each visit. I felt so much relief knowing that I could go away and have someone as kind as Alicia come into my home and care for my cats the way she did!! I highly recommend Alicia and will be using her in the future!!”

“Nishat is kind, professional, and reliable. I have two cats, one of whom is high-needs, skittish, and receives many medications. Nishat handles it all with aplomb!”

“Amanda was great. She did a meet and greet which was great. She communicated when she visited our kitty and provided pictures and a video. We would definitely use Amanda again.”

“Rosie was great! This was the first time I’ve used a cat sitter to check in before and I felt totally comfortable having Rosie pop in after I met her. Luna liked her instantly and all went really smoothly!”

“Meghan has been terrific with our little old anxious dog! She has stayed with him twice and taken care of our house, filled bird feeders, etc., and she came during a holiday week (most recently) to let him out mid-day, staying long enough to play, give him treats, and take him out a 2nd time. And send a pic! Really appreciate her willingness to do this the day after Christmas!”

“Erin showed up for me last minute when my sitter canceled. She was so kind and professional and put me completely at ease (I was panicking!). This morning she sent me so many pictures of my fur-baby clearly enjoying himself. My cat immediately took to her, and I can tell she’s a real animal whisperer. I couldn’t have enjoyed my trip without her there caring for my babies. I hope I get to hire her again!”

You can expect reliable communication, photo updates, and careful attention to any special instructions, medications, feeding schedules, or routines. I take pride in being dependable, detail-oriented, and making both pets and their owners feel comfortable. To ensure everyone is a great fit, I require a meet-and-greet before all new bookings. This gives us the opportunity to get to know one another, answer any questions, and help your pet feel comfortable before our first visit. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member and provide the loving care they deserve! I work full-time during the weekdays, but pet care is something I genuinely enjoy and make time for. You’ll receive regular updates and photos during each visit, so you’ll always know how your furry family member is doing. I also require a meet-and-greet before new bookings to ensure we’re a great fit and to help your pet feel comfortable before our first visit.

Whilst living on a farm I’m also very familiar with cats and kittens! I’ve sat for a private rescue with 20+ cats and am used to giving medication, watching the elderly, and caring for the kittens! “Ricky was so great with my 2 cats while I was away on vacation for a week. He was Very responsive to text messages, and made sure the cats were well taken care of. My cats were a bit elusive and hesitant at first, but once I saw pictures of both of them interacting with Ricky, I was put at ease knowing they trusted him.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
