“Martha was amazing! She asked great questions to make sure my pets got the best care and she was constantly sending updates. She even cleaned the bedding after staying and it was like she was never even there! Would definitely book again.”

“Once again I was relieved and felt confident that my dog Walter was in good hands while I was away on vacation. Walter can be anxious with different people, but Amanda knows how to handle him. I definitely plan to use Amanda's services again in the future.”

“Meghan was wonderful with Mookie, I felt very comfortable with her staying at the house. She always kept me updated with photos and texts everyday. She was very responsible and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter. Thank You”

“Emily took wonderful care of our Fiona, providing plenty of updates to us while out of town and ensuring Fi kept the schedule that makes her most comfortable, including plenty of yard time, play, snuggles and naps. We’re so glad to have connected with Emily and will definitely reach out for future sitting!”

“Amy was great! She was prompt in her arrival and really seemed to enjoy the animals and they her! She sent us lots of pictures and communicated with us about how the animals were doing while we were gone! Really happy to find her as a petsitter!”

“Kyla was great with my 3 girls. One of my huskies is 15.5 years old so she needs a bit of extra care and Kyla was wonderful with her. She also checked in with me while I was away to let me know how it was going which was much appreciated.”
About: I’m Cody! I grew up with 3 dogs, and I worked at a dog daycare for over a year. I’ve done on and off pet-sitting and walking through craigslist and friends over the years as well. I have 2 cats and a rabbit at home, so I’m good with all different types of animals. I can do pet sitting, check ins, and walks. I have a car with a large backseat so I could also transport your pet to a park or a preferred walking trail if you’d like. I am available weekday mornings before 8am and afternoons after 4pm. My weekends are completely open! Thank you for considering me to hang out with your pets and I hope to hear from you soon! Cody
“Michele is by far one of the more caring and loving dog sitters we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know. Whenever we leave Bob in her care, we know he will be safe and loved, almost as if it were us.”

“We couldn’t be more grateful for the amazing care Trie provided for our 13-year-old Maltipoo. He has a tough time with separation anxiety and often struggles with eating when we're away, but Trie was absolutely incredible with him. She stayed by his side, took him on several walks a day, and knew exactly how to encourage him to eat. Trie sent us frequent updates and lots of photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. For the first time, we were able to truly relax on vacation knowing our fur baby was in such loving hands. She is incredibly sweet, gentle, kind, and attentive — exactly the kind of person you’d hope to find to care for your pet. We’ll definitely be booking with her again for any future travel!”

“Rachael was loved immediately by my pup! She helped me in a pinch last minute when I needed overnight care. She is kind, punctual, sent me updates & stayed in touch. It’s really nice to not have to reach out about your pet, and to already have updates and photos when you check your phone!!! Delilah and I look forward to working with you again. 😊”

“I highly recommend John! He asked questions to clarify my dogs needs, sent regular updates and even shared photos. His attentiveness allowed me to enjoy my few days out of town without worrying about my 2 senior dogs.”

“Jessica was punctual and easy to communicate with (before and during), sharing pics of our dogs almost immediately to reassure us that all was well. Jessica was also very attentive to our dogs' individual needs, including separation anxiety and caution towards new people. Thank you!”

About: I've had dogs all of my life. All of my dogs I rescued, Rosco from North Carolina, Athena from Puerto Rico, Otis a Maine resident (my other half best friend) ,Piglet from Georgia and Thia from Saint Thomas. I've always had a love and special way with dogs. It's all about time and patience they are 4 legged kids. Ive introduced a senior dog who was not fond of other dogs to his new sister and they lived happily in the house together. I've had alot of experience with senior dogs dealing with hip issues and mobility. I am also a pitbull mom so I know all about their attitude. I have went through obedient school and have learned alot and plain on continue training not just for my self but for the dogs we have to be trained just as much as they do. I'm currently working 7 to 3 M-F but have time at night and on weekends in my daily schedule that I would love to fill and what better way then spending with animals. I treat my pets as if they are kids because they are my kids! I'm a dog mom. My dogs have a fenced in back yard they always run around in.
“Marissa was fantastic! I will definitely use her again! My girls fell in love with her, and one likes to test people to see if she can gain control and run the house. Marissa was firm in who was in control, but loving to jot hurt feelings. She provided regular updates and together we got through some tummy issues to make it where I got back home. The house kitties, who were not part of her duties other than to accept snuggles, adored her as well. At one point she was surrounded by 2 dogs and 2 kitties touching her at once! When we got back, as excited as my dogs were to see me, they also looked around me to see if Marissa was there. My animals tell me all I need to know about a person, abd they adore her. Your pets will too!”

“Sami took great care of our pup—planning lots of outings and adventures that kept him stimulated and happy. Sami was very communicative from our first interactions through the end of the stay. Our house was also spotless when we arrived, as well. We would definitely recommend Sami!”

“Nishat was very accommodating considering we kept on changing the plan for the time we were leaving the day she was coming. She always takes great care of our animals!”

“Rhonda was so kind and provided detailed information on how my elderly dog was doing while I was away. Her communication allowed me peace of mind that my dog was well cared for. I would absolutely recommend her, she took excellent care of my dog and even got her to eat her meds which she typically refuses to do’”

About: My experience includes puppy training and group integration, command training, end of life palliative care, medicine administration, grooming, and lots of recreation/enrichment/engagement! As for dog types all are fur babies and I'll see that they are treated as such! Currently in-between full-time employment, ready to devote my time to the lovely care of our fur companions. I tend to be free on the weekends and the beginning of the week. I follow set instructions laid down by the owners, any preferences or quirks of individual pets will be accommodated for your pets' and your family comfort.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sebago walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sebago maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sebago choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sebago. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
