“Tim came highly recommended, and now I know why! He was so understanding and patient as I navigated having him care for my senior dog, and he was clearly attentive to her. I will be back!”

“Deena was very accommodating and good with my dog. This was my first time using Rover and she made the experience great! She took care of my little guy!!! Thank you”

“My dog was really happy and tired after spending a day with Glenda and Trufa. Will definitely be bringing my dog to Glenda for future bookings.”

“Travis was easy to communicate with and my dog came back just as happy as when I left him. He sent lots of pictures and even took my dog to the dog park that is less than a block away.”

“Chris has taken care of Pinto while I was away traveling. He did an amazing job, i didn’t have to worry even for one moment. He took care of her so well, and I would recommend him to anyone with a pet!”

“I can’t thank Tim enough for being such a lifesaver and amazing sitter! I had a very last minute need for a sitter over the July 4th weekend while I was working and he stepped up in the biggest way. He walked Coco multiple times a day and gave the most adorable summaries of their day together. Coco sprinted to him immediately after only one day and it was obvious she had a great time despite the terrible 100 degree weather that weekend. I can’t thank him enough and can’t wait for him to sit coco again!”

“Rosie had a wonderful day with Kanade. She kept her busy with fun activities and let me know how she was doing all day with adorable videos and pictures! I will definitely use Kanade again soon! ❤️”

“Cailey was great! She responded to our request for dog sitting on very short notice and was flexible with drop off and pick up times. We felt very comfortable leaving Gnocchi with her. While sitting, she sent frequent updates with pictures and explanations of activities, making us feel at ease and able to relax and enjoy our day and evening. Gnocchi clearly had a great time. If we visit the area again, we would certainly book with Cailey, and would highly recommend her to others. Thank you again Cailey and Co.”

About: I am a lifelong dog lover who has been around dogs for as long as I can remember. I treat every dog like they're my own and look forward to getting to know you and your pup. I love dogs/all animals and have over 12 years of experience caring for my own as well as friend's and family's dogs and other animals. I also worked at Wag for 6 months before moving here to Philadelphia so I have experience with professional dog walking. I truly enjoy the company of pets and I look forward to providing you peace of mind and the utmost in care for you and your four legged family members! I currently have a Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix who absolutely loves meeting new dogs and people, so I understand how important it is to find someone you trust to care for your furry family member. Whether your pup loves long walks, playtime, belly rubs, or just a cozy companion while you're away, I'll make sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for. As a professional photographer, I also love capturing adorable moments, so you can expect plenty of cute photo updates while your dog is in my care! Pet care is already a big part of my everyday life. I have a dog of my own, so my daily routine naturally includes walks, feeding, playtime, training reinforcement, and plenty of attention and affection. I work with a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate quality time to the pets in my care and ensure they receive the attention, exercise, and companionship they need throughout the day. I strive to maintain each pet's normal routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. In my home, pets have a safe, welcoming environment with plenty of supervision, exercise, and opportunities to relax. In a client's home, I follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medications, walks, playtime, and any special needs. I also provide regular updates and photos so pet parents can have peace of mind while they're away.
“Devon took such great care of Beans! Beans loves her so much and he had such a good time. She took lots of pictures and he was so enriched with his visit he slept through the night and morning! Highly recommend Devon!!”

About: I’ve taken care of lots of different kinds of animals since I was a teenager. I worked at a zoo in England for a summer when I was a bit younger and from then, I grew a genuine passion for animals. I am currently working from home, so I will be able to provide lots of attention to your dog. I also walk routinely in the morning, evening, and anytime in between. I do not have any pets that live with me so it will just be myself and your dog. I will usually only have 1 dog at a time unless the dogs already know each other or live together.
“Lauren was great with Roxie! She was kind enough to help us out with short notice and made Roxie feel like she was right at home. Roxie is a senior pup with special needs”
“I did a meet and greet with Samantha and her resident dog, and I immediately knew that my little puppy would be safe and in good hands with her. She understands dog behavior and we watched and made sure that my dog would be nice to her sweet dog. The next day I dropped my doggie for some doggy daycare and as to be expected, he seemed a little nervous when I left him, and Samantha reassured me that after a few minutes, he would be fine -and he was. Just like other reviewers have noted when I went to pick up my little guy he did not seem to want to go home with me. He let me know with his body language that he was very happy and having fun. Samantha and her partner are genuine “dog people”. My dog is very selective with men and he immediately showed affection towards Samantha‘s boyfriend. They have the knowledge and patience you’re looking for.”

“Londyn has been so great to our Penny! Penny is very anxious and has trouble sometimes in new spaces - Londyn has been patient and kind and made Penny feel comfortable”

“Madeleine and her family were awesome. They made our Army Navy weekend even greater. We got to enjoy the game and tailgate while Ginger and Kindle had a fun time too. One of my friends who were with us remark how awesome they came out to greet us as we dropped off the dogs. They make you feel like your family. Thanks so much!”
About: Hi! I’m new to Rover but definitely not new to caring for dogs. I grew up with dogs and now have a 3-year-old dachshund named Lincoln, who is incredibly friendly and loves meeting new pups. I’ve also cared for friends’ dogs of all sizes, including a 95-pound Golden Retriever. I recently started my MBA at Wharton after working in consulting, so I have a flexible schedule and can give dogs plenty of attention throughout the day. My goal is to make your dog feel like they’re on their own vacation while you’re away! Whether your pup loves long walks, playing fetch, snuggling on the couch, or just hanging out nearby, I’m happy to match their routine and energy level. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else—I feel exactly the same way about Lincoln. I’ll care for your dog as if they were my own and make sure you receive plenty of updates and photos so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. As a full-time MBA student, my schedule is very flexible, and I spend much of my day studying from home. My fiancé also works from home, so there’s almost always someone around to keep your pup company. Lincoln and I already go on several walks each day, and I love walking around Fitler Square, Rittenhouse Square, and along the Schuylkill River Trail. If your dog enjoys adventures, I’d be happy to bring them along! We also love spending time at the park (if that’s something you’re comfortable with and your dog enjoys). Every dog’s routine is different, and I’m happy to tailor walks, playtime, and downtime to what they’re used to at home. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. My fiancé and I live in a clean, dog-friendly apartment in Fitler Square, where visiting pups will be treated like members of the family. Lincoln is a gentle, social dachshund who loves having canine friends around. Before each stay, I’d love to learn about your dog’s personality, routine, and any preferences or quirks so I can make their experience as comfortable as possible. Whether they need medication, have favorite toys, prefer quiet walks, or have specific house rules, I’ll do my best to keep everything consistent with what they’re used to. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care, so I’ll keep you updated with frequent photos and messages throughout their stay. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing your pup is safe, happy, and loved.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Schuylkill
Lara and her husband were great! We visited just for the day, and needed a safe place for our very senior pup to stay… they were great about booking (we booked less than 2 weeks before our visit), gave updates, took her for a walk and took great care of her. Would definitely recommend!

Very responsive, flexible, and watched our dog Piper on a last minute request. After struggling to find someone for daycare with just a few days notice, Janelle responded quickly and was available immediately for a meet and greet followed by a long day with Piper. Additionally, Piper had a fantastic time and seemed to quickly warm up to Janelle despite struggling with separation anxiety, which was something we were initially worried about. Both Janelle’s enthusiasm for helping us out and her excitement for taking care of Piper made the experience fantastic; not just for our dog, but for us as well!

Maroc, took great care of Jill and accepted my very late request for dog sitting as I needed to be out for the day. As always he was great and Jill enjoyed her time with him and Denim. Will book with Maroc again in the future. He is very quick in responding and sends regular updates.

I am so grateful Janie was willing to look after my dog after an emergency! I was looking for a sitter who would be willing to bring my dog to an emergency vet in the unlikely event that he showed symptoms that would need immediate medical attention, and Janie was gracious enough to take on the duty. She is very communicative and sent updates throughout the day. My dog is so happy and comfortable in her care!

Toni is an incredible care taker and communicator!! She was available and flexible for a last minute booking and was able to accommodate an early morning/long day for my dog. She sent detailed and adorable updates and showered my dog with love. She went above and beyond and I would highly recommend her services!

Ronon came home happy and relaxed from daycare at Sean's place, so I know he had a good time. (He has separation anxiety and big feelings, so if he's been stressed or unhappy when we're apart, it's pretty obvious.) Sean has a great, chill vibe and was very attentive to everything I told him about Ronon before his first visit. I will definitely book daycare with Sean again!

I can’t thank Tim enough for being such a lifesaver and amazing sitter! I can’t thank him enough and can’t wait for him to sit coco again!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Schuylkill commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
