This is the first time we have boarded Gracie since the passing of her sister. She has had separation anxiety issues and we were concerned that she might have a difficult time without us. Douglas offered to have Gracie visit him before our trip to familiarize herself with his home. He was very patient with her and as a result Gracie had a wonderful time with Douglas and Pepe.

Natalie was outstanding! My dog stayed with her for 8 days. She went above and beyond to send updates and photos multiple times per day. She was so communicative, and it was obvious that my dog was having a great time! I seriously can't say enough about how great Natalie and her family are, and you should absolutely book with her with no hesitation. I will be rebooking with her anytime we go out of town. She's the best!! Thank you so much, Natalie and fam! :)

Katie was so wonderful! My dog came home relaxed and tired from all the fun. I can tell she was properly cared for and given a lot of attention and exercise. I was so grateful for Katie’s kindness and understanding of my special, quirky dog.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I’m was around 5, I grew up with poodles and we raised them . I would help the neighbors with their cats, dogs, birds and bunnies I currently work for full-time, but on the weekends I enjoy hanging out with dogs. I do enjoy walking them taking to the park having quality time with them. I can provide a fenced yard. There is a park a block away from my home. We can walk to to have open play or play on a leash.Or one on one play in door or in my fenced yard

About: I like to walk the dogs daily around the Atascadero Lake. I have a decent size fenced backyard with room to run and use my poop scooper daily. I am retired and looking for things to do during the week (mon-Fri) to fill my days. I have always loved the company of dogs and love to take them on daily walks. I have a dog bed in my bedroom, where your dog would sleep at night. The dogs water bowl is always kept clean and fresh. The dogs would always be welcome to hang out in the house with me, too.

About: I have tons of animal experience, from chickens to horses and everything in between. Many of my high school years were spent in dog and cat rescue, and I have taken multiple animal science courses in college so I am very comfortable with a wide range of medical and behavioral needs. I'm not scared of by or wary of animals that might need more time to warm up. I'm also very active and outdoorsy and am always looking to have an animal join me on my various adventures and outings if that is what they are into. I work with dogs and cats of all sizes, energy levels, and ages, and can give oral medication, injections, or do bladder expression if needed. I am currently on summer break from my college classes and working part-time remotely from home, so I have a lot of flexibility in terms of scheduling. I’m comfortable playing, feeding, giving medication, crating, or anything else your pet might need. I treat all animals with the love and respect they deserve.

Lauren welcomed my 10 mo old puppy with open arms. From the moment we arrived, Lauren and her fur babies welcomed my girl and provided the perfect stay while I was away. Lauren’s communication was great, pictures were sent showing how at home my girl had become. Lauren was exceptionally accommodating, and kind. When I arrive to pick up my pup, she was playing, happy and unfazed that I was there (to me, this is the perfect sign of a well cared for dog). I’ll be calling Lauren for future overnight stays. Your dog will love Lauren!!!

About: I have traveled a lot in the past and as a dog owner I understand the need for reliable and affordable dog care. As a teacher I have the summer off, so I am home most of the time right now and would love to offer that care to your furry friend. I have a house with a fenced in backyard and a wonderful 10-year-old husky mix who plays well with small-to-large sized dogs. I live with my husband who will be home in the evenings and on weekends, but I will be the only one providing care. If your dog(s) are friendly with other dogs, I look forward to hosting them! Meal times are usually 7:30 am and 6:30 pm. Walks in the am or pm depending on the heat. A fenced in backyard means your pup can let themselves out whenever they need relief. My husband and I have a house with an 8-foot fence and a friendly husky mix to keep your dog(s) company. Our dog is a lover of trash, so we are very careful to keep food out of reach and the trash can locked.

He always goes the extra mile, checking in when it's appropriate and just taking good care of them when we are traveling internationally. I strongly recommend Josh to take care of your furry family members🐾❣️

Robyn is amazing!! I got a puppy for my birthday one week before we were scheduled to go out of town for 3 nights, I was so beyond anxious to leave my puppy because we had just gotten her settled and honestly I didn't think I could trust anyone else to care for her. I chose Robyn based off of her amazing reviews and how quick she was to respond to me and put me at ease. My 9 week old puppy was very safe and well loved and cared for while I was gone, Robyn was very quick to respond to all of my messages and sent me updates and photos while we were out of town. I would absolutely recommend anyone considering a house or dog sitter to go with Robyn, take it from a highly anxious new dog mom! We will definitely book with her again if we go out of town. :)

Goose can be uneasy and reactive, but Kambry was able to handle everything super well with care and understanding. She is definitely an experienced sitter and I recommend her to anyone searching in the SLO area!

About: I’ve had experience caring for large dogs my whole life and currently handle most of the day-to-day care for my own dog, so I’m very comfortable with feeding routines, walks, exercise, and keeping dogs happy and well-behaved. I’ve also been pet sitting since high school, caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and needs. What sets me apart is how attentive and hands-on I am. I treat every dog like my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’m especially confident with bigger dogs and can adapt to each dog’s routine, whether that means active playtime or a calmer, more relaxed environment. Until early June, I have school and work during the week, along with some busy weekends, but I’m still available for pet care with enough notice and can work around my schedule. Starting in the summer, I’ll have a much more open and flexible schedule and am looking to take on more pet sitting opportunities. I’m happy to accommodate different routines and make sure your pet gets consistent, reliable care. I provide a clean, safe, and cozy environment where pets can feel comfortable and relaxed. I’m a very active person, so I love taking dogs on walks and making sure they get plenty of exercise and attention. I also make time for calmer moments, like relaxing and giving pets the affection and companionship they’re used to. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I stick closely to their usual routine to help them feel at ease, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions. My goal is always to make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
