About: I've been around animals my whole life. I grew up with dogs, and these days I'm often the person friends and family call when they need someone to look after their pets. I've spent plenty of time walking dogs, feeding them, playing with them, and making sure they're well cared for while their owners are away. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes, including larger, high-energy breeds. I enjoy getting to know each animal's personality and building trust with them. I've even trained my own cats to do tricks and respond to commands using positive reinforcement. Taking care of animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I take the responsibility seriously because I know how much people's pets mean to them. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, which gives me the flexibility to provide walks, drop-in visits, and pet care throughout the day. Outside of work, taking care of animals has always been a regular part of my life, whether that's spending time with my own pets or helping friends and family with theirs. Because I work a consistent schedule and plan my time carefully, I can be reliable and punctual when it comes to pet care. I enjoy getting outside for walks and spending time with animals, so it's something I genuinely look forward to rather than trying to squeeze into a busy schedule. I try to keep things as close to the pet's normal routine as possible. When I'm caring for a pet in their home, I follow the owner's instructions and make sure they're getting everything they need, whether that's walks, meals, playtime, medications, or just some company while their owner is away. I pay attention to each animal's personality and body language and adjust my approach accordingly. Some pets want lots of attention and activity, while others are happier with a quieter approach and a little extra patience. I'm comfortable with both. Safety is always important to me. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure, and I keep an eye out for anything that seems out of the ordinary. My goal is to make sure pets are comfortable, well cared for, and as stress-free as possible while their owners are away. I make sure that I'm always available, and communication is a huge priority for me
“Jeanne was great and very responsive. I had full confidence my cats were being well cared for while I was away. I would definitely recommend Jeanne and hope to reschedule her services for future dates.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats my entire life, with most of my pets coming from shelters and rescues. This experience has given me a strong appreciation for different temperaments, routines, and comfort levels. Currently, I live with my partner Caley (also on Rover!) and an 8 year old domestic shorthair cat named Barnett. We reside in walking distance of North Beach in Hampton. I primarily work from home, which gives me excellent flexibility for walks and drop-in visits throughout the day. I am in the office a day or two, but am typically able to shift days in order accommodate walks. I take safety seriously and treat every pet as if they were my own. I follow all care instructions closely, use secure equipment, and tailor walks to each pet’s needs. When beach routes are used, dogs are kept leashed and closely supervised, with attention to weather, tides, and comfort. My goal is always a safe, positive experience for every pet.
“Samantha did a great job caring for our cat for a long weekend away. She was very communicative and brought in our paper, trash & recycle bins (and removed a dead mouse surprise that kitty left 😲). We would definitely use her again.”

“Our daughter stayed with Buster while we were away for the weekend. Felicia came to our house to administer insulin shots and eye drops for Buster. She received a great review from our daughter, saying that she was right on time, and was very sweet with him! It's a good feeling to know that he was well taken care of while we were away. Thank you, Felicia!”

About: I have grown up around dogs and horses, and love taking my parents lab to the beach a park while home in Massachusetts. I have experience caring for neighborhood pets and multiple horses. I am currently on break from graduate school in Boston, and would love to help care for or exercise your dog. Before grad school, I worked in a demanding corporate environment, which showed me the importance of having time and care for your pets. Please let me know your dog’s routine and what makes them comfortable. My parents have two dogs we walk at the same time, so happy to discuss your pets comfort around other animals.

“Robyn is fantastic! Great communicator, timely, attentive to details, responsible, but most importantly our sometimes shy pup Brix LOVES her and has clearly been happy and relaxed each time we come home. She a Dog Whisperer(!) Highly recommend!”

“Paige did a fantastic job watching our two kittens for two weeks while we were out of the country. She gave daily updates with photos and was quick to communicate when she found a potential issue with the automatic feeders. Both of our kittens quickly warmed up to her and we will absolutely use her services again in the future! :)”

About: I am no stranger to the animal world. I have been active in the horse world since five years old. I have over fifteen years of hands on experience with animals of all shapes and sizes; Dogs, cats, horses, livestock, chickens and other various farm animals. I have experience training dogs and a love for working with older rescues! Taking care of the four dogs, horses, and chickens at home requires us to be up by 7 in the morning. My weekend work schedule can be quite busy during the summer seasons, and my weekly schedule tends to be constant yet unpredictable. Please feel free to ask about the scheduling details, as I am very flexible. We have spacious runs, 30 to 60 feet long, and across the road, there are hundreds of acres of trails for our animals to explore. Our mission is to keep them engaged and active, as their world is shaped by what we provide. With plenty of stimulation, we can effectively manage behavior and craft positive relationships.
“Laura was great. She cleaned some unfortunate litter box issues. Bless her. More importantly than that, though. I returned home to cats that were not stressed. This is a first for them and I’m so grateful.”

About: I grew up with cats and medium and large dogs (along with other smaller critters), regularly took care of neighborhood dogs (overnight stays and walks), and I still take care of my parent’s 95 lb dog and cat when they’re out of town. I travel occasionally for work and personal reasons so haven’t yet committed to having my own pet (yet!). I love having a dog companion on my regular walks/hikes. I have a hybrid work arrangement where I’m part time in the office in Newburyport and part time at home in Amesbury. My schedule varies based on work/personal travel schedule and can be pretty flexible depending on the day when I’m at home. I’m happy to take dogs for walks near your home as needed (as short or as long of a walk as you’d like) and also happy to stay overnight to take care of pets.
About: i am a parent to one big boy cat named Kemper! I grew up owning dogs and kittens and have never been able to live without a pet. My cat may possibly be my best friend and i’m okay with it but we could use a break sometimes from real people. I have watched pets for friends/ co workers/ family for multiple years and have completed training for dogs with aggression in the past. Watching others pets keeps me for trying to adopt every pet i see! I work at an autism day program M-F from 8:30-4pm so I have morning and nights available for whatever care is needed for every individual pet! I have had pets with health issues so I am super accommodating to their needs. My cat is extremely affectionate so attention needy animals are welcomed!

About: I have the experience of 3 years of dogsitting my neighbor’s lovely golden retriever, and miscillaneous other neighbors have had me walk all different kinds of dogs too over the years I just graduated highschool and work part time in the evening so I’m free basically every weekday until 3:00pm, some days even after that. Weekends are generally the same. I am very good at interacting by and playing with dogs, and keeping them happy while you’re away. I also love going on walks so naturally I love walking dogs!
“Jamie was terrific for Drop-In visits for our golden retriever! Responsive, timely, reliable, great communicator and updates. Best part was how comfortable our pup was with her and happy she was when we got home. Clearly well cared for and loved while we were away. Highly Recommmend!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
