“Kendra was absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in I knew Scout would be well cared for and would also have a fun furry companion to play with. Kendra is very attentive to details, warm, welcoming to cuddle a sometimes shy dog and my pup enjoyed lots of exercise and play. Thank you Kendra!”

“Thank you so much for taking such good care of Trixie! It’s greatly appreciated. While we hate leaving her, knowing someone else cares for her as much as we do makes it a little easier.”

“Dorothy was great - she and her family made Bruno feel very welcome and secure and kept us updated while we were away. He has a special diet and daily medication and she was great with giving that to him. Definitely will book again.”
“We have used Hugo & Julia several times and have always been satisfied with their care of our dog Beau. They send updates and pictures during his stay with them. They are excellent!”

“Luiz and his family were so sweet to my pup, Echo, that I don’t think she wanted to come home! They treated her like family and she had a blast exploring their wonderful fenced in backyard and lounging on the couch when she needed a break. She played like crazy with the other pups and came home nice and tired! Luiz kept me up to date with frequent pictures and videos of her having fun. I felt so comfortable leaving her with them and will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Elaine is fantastic! We have boarded our Cocker Spaniel with Elaine a few times now and she provides excellent care each time. The peace of mind we have when leaving our dog with Elaine is such a blessing. We know that Elaine loves the dogs she watches and that she will provide the best possible care and attention for our little guy each time he stays with her. We're thankful for Elaine and highly recommend her to others!”

“Our 10 month old golden retriever had a great time staying with Dina. She was able to accommodate us last minute. She was wonderful with him! Her communication was much appreciated during our time away. We will 100% be using Dina in the near future.”

“I was very nervous having to board my two pups rather emergently. Best thing to have ever happened to me was finding this angel. She sent me a frequent updates as well as pictures. Couldn’t have asked for a better family to take care of my best buds. I am 1000% grateful and will continue to use Jessica in the future.”

“Nancy is wonderful, kind an caring. I was gone for 6 days and Nancy would send me updates few times a day including pictures. My dog is old and needs patience and love and Nancy would provide all of that and beyond! I would highly recommend Nancy to take care of your pet.”

When Luca developed an ear infection, Radhika kept us closely updated on his symptoms right away, allowing us to take him straight to the ER as soon as we got back. We are so grateful for her attentiveness and communication, and we will absolutely book with Radhika again!"”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rutland
This was the first time boarding our dog. So I was nervous. Everything went smoothly and our dog was happy and healthy when we picked her up. I was impressed with how knowledgeable Michael is about dogs and how much he cares about their wellbeing. Throughout the booking and boarding process, Michael was attentive to our needs and responded quickly whenever I contacted him. He has an excellent setup with double fencing and lots of cameras. I will definitely be boarding my dog with him in the future. Thank You!!!

We are so grateful for Michael! This was the second time he watched our three dogs in his home for the week, and they had an absolute blast. They were so excited to be back for another stay, and we were completely stress-free knowing they were being loved and cared for like family. Great communication, plenty of photo updates, and so much playtime for our pups. We feel so lucky to have found the perfect home away from home for our fur babies. Highly recommend!

Erin was great with Brady. She sent us pictures and updates along the way. I feel very comfortable leaving our Brady with her. She hadn’t seen him in a while so she stopped by our house before the stay to get reacquainted with Brady. That was very helpful and thoughtful.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
