“Migle was absolutely wonderful with Zoë. She went above and beyond-carrying her up and down the stairs because Zoë couldn't manage them, sending regular photo updates, and treating her like her own. I felt completely at ease knowing Zoë was so well cared for. Truly exceptional.”

“Alessia (and Frankie!) were super welcoming and communicative about Lindy's stay with them :) It's been a while since Lindy has boarded with another dog and they made sure she felt right at home - we'll certainly request Alessia's sitting services again!”

“Beautiful fenced in yard and other dogs to play with. Our dog was very well cared for and very tired (he's under two and has tons of puppy energy) when we brought him home from his week long stay. Highly recommend.”

“Thank you so much for taking such good care of Trixie! It’s greatly appreciated. While we hate leaving her, knowing someone else cares for her as much as we do makes it a little easier.”

“Finn loves him time with Luiz and his family. We love the setup Luiz has that allows our energetic Goldendoodle to run to his hearts content. We recently left Finn with Luiz for two weeks and felt completely confident that he was in good hands, was safe and was happy! Definitely will use Luiz’s service again!”

“Vicki and her familiy were OUTSTANDING with Gus. She kept us updated on how he was doing throughout his stay and it was so helpful. This was Gus' first time away and I was convinced that he would not want to come home after being with Vicki and her familiy.”

“I couldn't be happier with the care my dog received! Andreana was kind, responsible, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. She kept me updated with some photos, messages and a video which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. My dog came back happy, well-exercised, and clearly well-loved. I highly recommend Adreana to anyone looking for a trustworthy and attentive pet sitter. Will definitely book again!”

“Radhika was a great dog sitter for my dog Finn. Radhika could ease Finn's separation anxiety and I was very comfortable leaving Finn with her. She took Finn for walks and updated me regularly with photos. She is very responsible and reliable and will leave Finn with her in the future. Thank you Radhika!”

“Plenty of picture updates were sent over Zeke’s stay. He looked so happy and was having a great time! He also had a mini vacation with plenty of other dogs to play with. Drop off and pick up we’re very easy to coordinate. I will be booking again!”
“Liliya and her family did a wonderful job boarding our dog Turk. He absolutely loves her and her family and we could rest easy on vacation knowing he was well cared for. Would highly recommend!”

“Bridget was great! We appreciated the updates and photos while we were away—they gave us complete confidence that Willow was in excellent hands. Bridget was a prompt and clear communicator, and her attentiveness to our dog’s needs was genuinely appreciated. We would be delighted to work with her again!”

“I’ve used Elaine regularly for the past couple of years and Fox adores her. I’m happy to be moving but sad that I will no longer be able to see Elaine or have Fox boarded with her. Elaine always keeps me updated and sends pictures of Fox with her many friends that are also under Elaine’s care.”

“I was very pleased with Sarah’s care of Brandy when she stayed with her this past weekend. Sarah was great about updating me and sending pictures. Her house is very dog friendly and there are lots of toys that her pup shares with guests. Brandy enjoyed her stay, and although she was happy to see me, was not showing any of the anxiety I sometimes see when we are separated for a while, so I know she was happy, comfortable, and well cared for in my absence. I would highly recommend Sarah as a sitter and plan to have her watch Brandy again soon!”

“Nancy was great with our dog. She has two dogs of her on and we set up a time before to meet her dogs where to make sure they got along. Nancy had a great set up at the house with a fenced in back yard and allowed our dog to sleep anywhere her wanted even in the bed with the other dogs. She sent daily pictures and updates which were nice to see. I would recommend her to take care of your dog.”

“Outstanding experience with Pat. I had her stay at the house and watch the dog. It is the first time I’ve done that. It was a game changer. In no small part due to the care and precaution Pat took. She came by in advance to get to know my dog and how the house worked. She asked all the right detailed questions. Things I hadn’t thought of! And then at time of transition, she ran through and tested that everything worked as she thought. Pat kept me informed both days. Made me aware of anything of concern. Inn this case GI distress on one of his walks which is not uncommon for Marvel on first day of someone new. But I sure was pleased she let me know and she let me know that it cleared by a later walk. Pat seemed unflappable, capable and careful. My dog liked her a lot as some of the pictures we of my dog having a great time. Plus he was great when I returned as was the house and plants. I will definitely book Pat again. .”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Rutland
We are so grateful for Michael! This was the second time he watched our three dogs in his home for the week, and they had an absolute blast. They were so excited to be back for another stay, and we were completely stress-free knowing they were being loved and cared for like family. Great communication, plenty of photo updates, and so much playtime for our pups. We feel so lucky to have found the perfect home away from home for our fur babies. Highly recommend!

Erin was great with Brady. She sent us pictures and updates along the way. I feel very comfortable leaving our Brady with her. She hadn’t seen him in a while so she stopped by our house before the stay to get reacquainted with Brady. That was very helpful and thoughtful.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
