“Meli was a great sitter! She’s very friendly and attentive. She also has great communication and gave us plenty of updates. I can tell our puppy had a great time while staying with her 😊”

“Thank you so much for taking such good care of Trixie! It’s greatly appreciated. While we hate leaving her, knowing someone else cares for her as much as we do makes it a little easier.”

“Judy was awesome with my dog, Cody! Her upbeat personality and love of dogs was so evident- and my dog really enjoyed her yard- he kept running in circles! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay- I definitely hope to book with Judy again!”

“Bethany has been caring for our dog for the last month and we are delighted. He is well cared for and loved. It's typically only one day a week. But it's exactly what he needs. Thank you Bethany for being such a great care giver!”

“On mine and Baxter's first meeting with Paul, Baxter was able to walk around the area without the other dogs so that Baxter could check things out on his own. Paul answered all of my questions and I felt confident leaving Baxter with Paul for an upcoming trip. After coming back from a short 3 day trip later, I could tell that Baxter had a great time and had met some new friends. He slept all the way back home and on the couch once we were back settled! I'll definitely be leaving Baxter with Paul for future trips. Thanks, Paul!”

“This review is long overdue, as Elaine has sat our large bloodhound mix multiple times and we couldn’t be more pleased with the care he has received at each stay. Elaine is incredibly responsive and accommodating, as there have been times where it looked like she may not be available for certain dates, but after reaching out, she was always able to accommodate Bodhi and incredibly flexible with drop-off and pick up times. She communicates with us daily while away to let us know how Bodhi is doing and sends pictures, which we love seeing while we are away! We also love that Bodhi has some play mates while he is there, as they have their dog, Brady, and other guests that stay at the same time. Bodhi always comes home tuckered out from all of the time spent playing there!”

“Molly is amazing. So kind and thoughtful with our dogs, kept us updated and sent lots of pictures. Usually when they spend the night away from us they’re anxious and confused, but they were super relaxed and happy. Thank you Molly!!!”

“Our dog Luna had a great time during her stay with Krista and Henry! It was clear that she was well cared for and happy. It was so great to have that peace of mind while we were traveling!”

About: From social to skiddish, cuddly to aggressive, I really have a soft spot for any kitty I’ve gotten to know and taking care of them is second nature to me. Most recently, I’ve lived with a very sweet and very spicy cat Sasha, so patience has been key! For the past few years, I have taken care of an incredible golden retriever named Frieda in Southern Vermont. She is nearly 13— we go on twice-daily walks, I brush and trim her long fur, and I make sure she's comfortable around her two kitty relatives in the house. I will be happy to provide this care for your dogs as well, meeting them where they are at in terms of walking, socializing, and other kinds of care I can provide. I am new to Worcester and beginning a graduate school program at MCPHS. I have both remote and in-person classes, but will have ample time everyday to make room for cat care! I am extremely patient when it comes to pet care and I know that it may take time for your pets to warm up to me. I have a warm and gentle presence that will make your kitties and pups and other pets feel safe and comfortable. Much of my pet-sitting in past years has included house-sitting as well, so rest assured that your home is in good hands.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats in my house since I was born and I’ve always been a part of walking, feeding, bathing, playing with, and giving meds to them. I have taken care of my dog who is elderly, has worn diapers and has experienced surgery and anesthetics. I really enjoy being around animals of all kinds! I only work about 1-3 hourly per day! I’m always around to hang out and play with pets. I always will have someone around the pets so they’ll never be alone. I know a lot of the behavioral signs of discomfort in animals, I always want the pets I’m working with to enjoy their time. I will always make sure a pet is in a safe and fitting environment for their needs. I have worked with pets who are sick, directly after surgery, and who need medication administered
“Radhika and her family did a fantastic job watching over and taking care of our pup while we were out of state for a few days over the 4th Holiday. I absolutely recommend Radhika as a trusted sitter for anyone’s dog. It was a relief to know our dog was in great hands while we were away.”
“Erinn has such a great energy and naturalness with animals, that we knew right after meeting her she was the right person to care for our two golden retrievers. She is warm while still exuding the leadership we need for our dogs, and they clearly adore her. We would not hesitate to leave them with her again. Thank you, Erinn!”

“Jennifer took such good care of Archie and his special medical needs. He did not seem stressed at all. She sent me updates multiple times daily. I would highly recommend her.”

“It was so nice to be able to go on vacation without worrying about Tootsie for the first time! I mean not a single worry! Makes for a much better vacation! Leslie was so nice and patient! It took Tootsie a day to settle in and once she was I know tootsie was very comfortable. She sent daily pictures and updates which gave me further assurance. You just don’t get that from a boarding place even though they promise that. Tootsie is a rather “needy” dog but like a 2nd child. I could tell she was well taken care of. I would not hesitate to call Leslie again and if you are reading this review, rest assured your dog will be in great hands! Thanks Leslie!!”

“Amber was an awesome pet sitter, she had both girls for two weeks and took amazing care of them. She was super responsive, sent lots of pictures, and really loved on them which is all you can ask for.”

“Philip and Chelsea were amazing with our dog Cooper! We were a little nervous, since this was Cooper’s first time away from us. Though Cooper was nervous at first he warmed right up to Philip and Chelsea and the other dogs that were there. We loved the pictures and updates we got about Cooper’s visit. I highly recommend having Philip and Chelsea watch your dog. They are great with dogs, have an amazing space for the dogs to play and take such good care of them. I will be booking them again whenever I need someone to watch Cooper while we are gone.”

“Simone is the best! She always takes excellent care of Maple and Maple loves playing with her buddy Rocco. There is no one I trust more and on one more qualified than Simone.”

“Lee was great !!! Always sent picture and video updates throughout his stay . My dog had a great time and I would definitely book Lee whenever I needed him !!! I highly recommend him !!”

“I couldn’t find a nicer pet sitter for Comet! Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to use Kim again. I knew while we were away Comet was well taken care of and loved!”

“Julie kept our two dogs for a long weekend and was absolutely fabulous. We were nervous leaving our younger dog (who has some anxiety) in a new place with someone new for the first time but it couldn’t have gone better. Both dogs seemed totally happy and at ease when we picked them up. I genuinely think they didn’t want to come home! We will certainly be using Julie again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
