“Jacky is literally THE BEST! Our 12-year-old goldendoodle stayed with Jacky for two weeks this spring while we were on an international trip. Jacky took such wonderful care of our dog – multiple walks a day in parks and wooded trails, playtime in the yard, and plenty of hugs. We also received daily updates with photos, which made us feel comfortable and happy that our dog was doing so well. I’ve recommended Jacky to our friends and we will definitely be contacting her again!”

“Elaine has been an absolute blessing! My dog loves her and always has a great time at her place. She is prompt, reliable, trustworthy and sends us updates which is always comforting. I don’t know what we would do without her!”

“I left my Pug with Gabrielle on a Sunday to Tuesday. Gabrielle was very conscientious, answered all questions, listened well and was very nice to both Wilbur and me. He obviously has a nice way with dogs and sent photos and video of Wilbur at random times. Wilbur was well taken care of, walked dependably, and was happy with Gabrielle and co. I highly recommend Gabrielle and look forward to seeing him again!”

“Alexis took such wonderful care of our Goldendoodle, Walden, and treated him like one of her own. Walden and Brewer became fast friends. It was clear he was happy and well cared for while we were away. We would absolutely trust Alexis with Walden again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pup.”

“Judy was awesome with my dog, Cody! Her upbeat personality and love of dogs was so evident- and my dog really enjoyed her yard- he kept running in circles! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay- I definitely hope to book with Judy again!”

“Really sweet and caring family that made it really easy to leave our pup for 4 days! Great pictures while we were away and you could tell the pups were getting plenty of play time and running around time! Professional, Friendly, and quick to reply!”

“Highly recommend Victoria! Booked with her after my usual dog sitter fell through last-minute and had a great experience. Victoria answered all my questions and asked several of her own to make sure her place would be a good fit, and it was. Super happy with the setup as my dog prefers a quieter/calmer place over a typical kennel. The daily updates and pictures were also much appreciated, and I wouldn’t hesitate to send my dog here again!”

“Lee was great !!! Always sent picture and video updates throughout his stay . My dog had a great time and I would definitely book Lee whenever I needed him !!! I highly recommend him !!”

“We had an urgent need to find a good dog boarding care provider as we were in the middle of a big vacation while suddenly our friend (who initially agreed to take care of our dog during our vacation) told us that she could no longer handle our dog due to lack of sleep and capability to handle. Fortunately, I found Jacqueline on Rover who agreed to accept our dog without even seeing him first. BTW, our previous Rover dog sitter no longer does this business since last year due to some family reasons. It has been such a great relief after our dog has been handed over to Jacqueline. She and her family have been taking very good care of our dog and she sent me updates in text msgs or pictures and taking our dog for walk everyday. From pictures, I believe our dog has been living happily with their family :-) Due to Jacqueline's great and in-time help, we were able to complete our vacation as planned. And after picking up our dog, he appears happy, healthy and clean. Thanks very much to Jacqueline and your family for your help! Great job! -Steve C.”

“Paul took care of Zin so well. I got pictures and/or videos every day, along with comments on how Zin was doing. An extra touch was that Paul returned all the food containers washed and stacked in the carrier they came in.”

“Peggy was great! Communication was great - and our normally shy dog Edison was best buds with their dog Daytona right away. Hope he can visit with Peggy and her family again soon!”

“Kendra was absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in I knew Scout would be well cared for and would also have a fun furry companion to play with. Kendra is very attentive to details, warm, welcoming to cuddle a sometimes shy dog and my pup enjoyed lots of exercise and play. Thank you Kendra!”

About: My children and I absolutely love dogs, especially my 8 year old son. I work in the school system so we have the whole summer off to enjoy taking care of your pets! I live seconds from a walking trail so your pup can get plenty of exercise, love, and snuggles! I am available all summer long while school is out. July 1 through the end of August. I spend a few weeks teaching summer school- on those days I am home by 1 pm. Your pet will be safely cared for in my two bedroom apartment- with lots of snuggles, nature walks, and toys. I understand different dogs have different needs and I will cater to each pup as needed.
“Great pet sitter I left my dog 🐕 and I knew she was going to be in good hands. Zaqeisha send me pictures of Fiona to show me how she was doing every other day . I will definitely contact her in the future.”

“Kyla took wonderful care of my pup while I was traveling! She and her family made my dog feel welcome in their home and I was assured that my dog was safe and sound throughout her stay! I am likely to be requesting Kyla for boarding services again ?”

“Mallory and James provide a loving home environment for any pup they take in. The dogs are made to feel as a part of their own family. I know that Miss Kisses is safe, calm, and loved with Mallory and James.”

“Bridget was great! We appreciated the updates and photos while we were away—they gave us complete confidence that Willow was in excellent hands. Bridget was a prompt and clear communicator, and her attentiveness to our dog’s needs was genuinely appreciated. We would be delighted to work with her again!”

Alexis took such wonderful care of our Goldendoodle, Walden, and treated him like one of her own. Walden and Brewer became fast friends. It was clear he was happy and well cared for while we were away. We would absolutely trust Alexis with Walden again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional care for their pup.

Riley had a great two weeks with Sue. She shared updates on him daily and provided all the TLC he needed while at her house. She was even kind enough to let Riley sleep on her bed as he does at home even though her dogs don’t. Riley was as happy when we picked him up as when we dropped him off. Highly recommend Sue to anyone as we will be using her again.

Felicia, was fantastic with both of my dogs. Very communicative, provided daily updates on how both doggies were doing. I felt at ease during my vacation because my dogs were in great hands. I would recommend her to all my family and friends. Definitely using her for pet boarding services in the future.
I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for my fur baby than Megan and her family. They included Marlo like she was their own and gave her so much love and the best photo updates! In the past when Marlo has come home from a sitter she’s been a bit on edge or overly exhausted, but when she got home it was as if she was just gone visiting a friend. We highly recommend Megan!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
