“Dogs came home happy and well balanced! Clearly they had been well cared for and given the proper amount of exercise. Kexin and Carlos sent lots of pictures and videos giving me a lot of confidence and comfort in knowing that selecting them was the right choice! My dogs loved their large, fenced in backyard! My 2 dogs got along beautifully with their dog and cats. They even added some healthy supplements to my dogs’ food that they add to their dog’s food! Will be using them again soon!”

“Kendra was absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in I knew Scout would be well cared for and would also have a fun furry companion to play with. Kendra is very attentive to details, warm, welcoming to cuddle a sometimes shy dog and my pup enjoyed lots of exercise and play. Thank you Kendra!”

“My golden had an absolute blast! She was super understanding when there was an issue with my flight. Sent so many photos and videos of him having the best time ever. If I had to trust anyone to watch my boy, I would definitely choose Paola. I never had to worry about his wellbeing once. Thank you guys so much for everything! 🤍🤍”

“Melissa was super communicative and very sweet with my pups!! They came home super tired from all the play and love. We are extremely grateful to have found her so last minute, and she was so accommodating! I definitely recommend using her, as I for sure will in the future.”

“I highly recommend Ms. Jackie. My dog received the care and attention he needed. Ms. Jackie is very friendly, trustworthy and dependable. You will not be disappointed!”

“Julie was really great with our anxious dog who really does not warm up to strangers. She understood that our dog needed space and time. By the end of the 24hour stay she and our dog had bonded which speaks volumes regarding Julie’s demeanor and ability to read a dog. Additionally, Julie is extremely responsive. Due to weather we needed to adjust our stay and she quickly responded to my messages and helped work through how to navigate the Rover site ? We are looking forward to having our dog stay with Julie again soon.”

“Kyla took such great care of our dog, Zoey, while my family went on vacation. I would not hesitate to leave Zoey with Kyla again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter!”

“Would highly recommend her. I left my dog with her for 10 days initially than extended to 12 days. She is prompt on responses and accommodating any special request. I am definitely going back to her”

“Liliya and her family were great with Sophie. This was Sophie’s first experience staying with a sitter so I was a bit nervous how she would do. During Sophie’s stay Liliya sent many pics and updates about Sophie’s routine. This really put my mind at ease and Sophie seemed very content. I also love that Liliya, her husband and two young kids played a role in the sitting which means Sophie got lots of attention. I highly recommend Liliya! I will be using her again next time I travel.”

“This was our first time boarding our dog Poppy since we moved to the area, so we felt a bit nervous about leaving her with people we didn’t know. Poppy had a trial overnight before our vacation, and she loved it so much that it put us at ease. And then the longer boarding went great too. I really appreciate how Kira and her family really treat the dogs like they are at home, rather than a kennel atmosphere. Poppy was well taken care of with lots of cuddles and plenty of outdoor playtime in their huge backyard. We will definitely have Poppy stay there again. We highly recommend!!”

“We felt very comfortable and secure leaving our senior dog with Bridget for a long weekend. Bridget was highly communicative and kind. Marbles has a couple specialized needs that she easily accommodated (i.e., twice daily pill administration and avoidance of other dogs). Marbles tends to be anxious when without us but I could tell she felt at ease with Bridget from the pictures that she shared with us. We will rebook for sure!”

“Krista and Henry are the best! I had been looking for the right sitter for my boy Barney for months, and I finally found them in Krista and Henry! I am the epitome of a paranoid helicopter parent, and Krista & Henry were absolutely wonderful in putting my mind at ease. They allowed me several meet & greets to ensure Barney and I were 100% comfortable, which was a huge deal for me. When the time came for Barney to stay with them, I received multiple updates with photos daily, which assured me my boy was doing great, receiving unlimited love and exceptional care and having fun. I highly recommend Krista and Henry and will definitely use them again in the future!”

“Fantastic experience with Bethany - felt confident that my pup was being well taken care of based on communications, photos and the conversation from meet & greet. Will definitely book with her again and highly recommend her as a pet sitter.”

“We selected Hugo & Julia to board our black lab, Beau for 5 days. He had a wonderful time under their care. He stayed with other dogs and got to run and play outside with them. Hugo & Julia sent updates and pictures often of Beau having a wonderful time during his stay. We will definitely use them again when we need to travel. Highly recommended!!”

“Jaquie was very accommodating to my dog and sent me photo and video updates. She provided lots of exercise for my younger energetic dog. I highly recommend Jaquie to care for your pet.”

“We’re so happy to have found Kimberly! She was incredibly responsive, professional, and so wonderful to our pit bull, Babs - she also sent photos, updates, and stories during the week that made us feel like our pup was having her own grand vacation. We had never left our pup for more than a few days before and Kimberly immediately put my mind at ease that she would take great care of her, especially being mindful of her special needs (not being good with other dogs and some anxiety). I highly recommend Kimberly as a sitter and your dog’s new best friend - she’ll be my first call when we plan another vacation!”

“Stacy was amazing! She communicated very well and was great with our lab! She has a big back yard and welcomed our dog into her home with open arms. We felt very comfortable leaving her with Stacy! 10/10 service.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
