“Kira and Steve took wonderful care of Mabel. They sent numerous pictures of her with the other pups and a few check-ins throughout the weekend letting us know how she was doing. When we picked her up she was in good spirits and not overly tired (our Golden loves to play but also needs her rest!). We will definitely reach out again for future care.”

“Very satisfied with Shirley’s care of my two dogs. My younger dog is very attached to me and not used to me being out of the house, let alone boarded for six nights. Shirley and her family worked with her so she settled in. I picked up two happy and well cared for dogs. Will use again.”

“Emily was great, gave us plenty of updates of how Brodie was doing while he was under her care and was very easy to communicate and coordinate with. Would highly recommend and have her watch Brodie again!”

“I can't recommend Craig and Brianna highly enough. They looked after our dog, Oreo, for a week and provided exceptional care. Their frequent updates and photos showed just how comfortable and loved he was. It’s such a relief to find sitters who treat your pet as their own!”

“Aline was amazing! She was very easy to communicate with and kept us updated throughout the entire time. We really appreciated all the photos she sent—they showed how happy and comfortable Coco was. She paid attention to every detail and made sure our baby was safe and happy the whole time. Coco had such a great time with her! I will definitely book Aline again in the future. Thank you so much, Aline!”

“Jennifer took such good care of Archie and his special medical needs. He did not seem stressed at all. She sent me updates multiple times daily. I would highly recommend her.”

“Bridget was great! We appreciated the updates and photos while we were away—they gave us complete confidence that Willow was in excellent hands. Bridget was a prompt and clear communicator, and her attentiveness to our dog’s needs was genuinely appreciated. We would be delighted to work with her again!”

“Nancy is very kind, loving and caring. My dog is old and timid and Nancy handled her care with exactly what my dog needed. Nancy is very gentle. I would highly recommend Nancy.”

“Shea and Damien are amazing!! They are so friendly and responsive and also very knowledgeable about dogs. My two large dogs can be a lot to handle together and they had an awesome time. We will definitely be booking with them again! 😊”

“We took a week vacation and knew our pup was safe, well taken care of and having fun! Paola keeps you updated with photos and treats your pup like her own. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!”

“We have used Hugo & Julia several times and have always been satisfied with their care of our dog Beau. They send updates and pictures during his stay with them. They are excellent!”

“Thank you Riven for taking in Remi on such short notice. I appreciate the help so much!! Remi liked being there so definitely would like to have you sit for her again.”
“Maeve greets Leo like he is her family member! He happily runs in and is at home immediately. She texts me photos every day and is accomodating when my drop off and pick up times are in flux. Great dog sitter!”

“My dog, Lucy, had a wonderful stay with Julie! Julie was very responsive to my initial response and any future questions. More importantly, I got a bunch of photos and updates of how Lucy’s visit was going which was wonderful. I highly recommend Julie. Lucy can’t wait for a future stay!”

“Very thorough when I dropped my dog off Reported back to me the details of his day seemed very capable. Finn was very relaxed and seemed perfectly adjusted in a situation where he normally would be very upset. I pup has severe anxiety separation, but he did great.”

“Sue is wonderful! My dogs and I got to meet Sue and her dogs before she boarded them. She really is patient with my little dogs and understands their behaviors. One of my dogs is very anxious and barks a lot. She dealt with it well and realized he was just unsure of the environment. My 6 pound Pomeranian took a few days to warm up to her but in the end she did. Sue didn’t push herself on my dog and just let my pup come to her. She took special care to walk them and make them feel as comfortable in their new environment. Sue also took time each day to send me photos and texts so I knew they were ok. I have already booked her for two more weeks this summer. I recommend her with your dogs too. It is obvious she loves and enjoys dogs.”

“Peggy was great! Communication was great - and our normally shy dog Edison was best buds with their dog Daytona right away. Hope he can visit with Peggy and her family again soon!”

“Liliya and her family were so sweet and took care of our Callie during our wedding weekend. We had only ever left her with friends or family before, so we were a bit nervous about leaving her with strangers. They sent photos everyday and showed Callie having a great time. Would 100% ask them to watch her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - West Boylston
Our mid-size doodle-poodle had a terrific time boarding with Lee and Lisa! She practiced her playing with gentle, larger dogs, continued her love affair with small dogs, and even got her feet wet when her new friends splashed in ponds on some of the many many hikes and walks she was taken on. She came back to us clean, healthy, and happy! Couldn't ask for more. Thank you, Lee!!!

Erinn was wonderful. Our 1.5 year old poodle can be a little nervous around new people, but warmed up to Erinn quickly and lived playing and learning from Summit. Erinn was very attentive to our puppy throughout her stay and even worked on teaching her to go up and down stairs which she struggles with. We will definitely book with Erinn again soon and would recommend her to everyone.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
