“We originally asked Caroline if she could walk and feed our two dogs as we were planning to a long day trip. However, we woke up to find our oldest dog not doing very well. It turned out that he had cancer and that we would have to put him down. It was a long agonizing day trying of running tests and considering options before finally deciding that the most humane treatment would be to euthanize. Everyday after school growing up I’d take care of our foster animal, giving them attention, feeding/water, CLEANING (so much!), administering medication like pills or injections like insulin are things I am more than comfortable with.
