About: In college, I was part of a student volunteer group called "Paws for a Cause", and every weekend I would get up early to volunteer at the local humane society caring for shelter dogs and cats. Currently, I own my own rescue dog, Maple. She is an extremely sweet and smart 2 year old Australian shepherd who is moderate to high energy. I have experience in both training and socializing her and my previous rescue dog, Roxy, through positive reinforcement. I will provide Maple with off-leash play where safe and acceptable. Beyond owning my own dog and volunteering, I have experience in walking and pet sitting for both large and small dogs and both adults and puppies. I am currently working part-time from home, so dog sitting and walking are easily integrated with my flexible schedule! I can provide a wide array of exercise for your dog's needs; walks, hikes, fenced-in outdoor playtime, and potty breaks. I am largely available and flexible, so I can likely make your schedule work as long as I receive 24-hour notice of your needs for drop-ins and walks and 48-hour notice for over-night sitting. This will help me make plans for my dog, Maple. She will stay with her grammy but communication is key! I have a fenced in yard where my dog plays and has down time. When we are not at home, we go for structured on-leash walks on trails. My dog and I have built a solid foundation of mutual trust and we go for off leash hikes where safe and appropriate. If your dog is friendly and has sound recall, I will consider off-leash play in large fields away from busy roads.
