“Alexis was the best sitter we’ve used on this app! She was super communicative and took the best care of Millie with fun updates of her mornings and nights. Alexis even figured out a partial refund for her not being able to make it due to severe snow. I would 1000% recommend Alexis as a sitter and we will be absolutely be using her again!”

“Alyssa did a great job taking care of our critters! We appreciated the daily updates and pics. Our kitty clearly was very fond of Alyssa and very affectionate. I felt quite comfortable leaving my menagerie in her care and hope to have her do it again!”

“My dog has a lot of separation anxiety. Jessica popped in to take her for a walk while I was at work. Jessica was great with communication and sent me a picture while on their walk. Jessica was thorough, and asked great questions prior to meeting my dog. She gave me peace of mind while I was at work. I would recommend Jessica and will be using her again! 😊”

“Eronda was such a caring and loving person whit my maxis, I’m sure they loved to spend this time whit her. She send me updates and pictures everyday after a walk and I can say they were calm, pampered and very happy. Thank you so much Eronda, there’s no better feeling than to know your furry babies are safe and having some love ❤️.”

“Jessi is the absolute best pet sitter on this app! She really loves our dog and makes sure she not only has the best care, but the best experience. She's reliable and a great communicator. I don't worry for a second when we are away. Thanks Jessi!”

About: I grew up surrounded by dogs. I ask to pet every dog I see! My family has a very busy schedule so we don't have our own dog. I'm a teacher so we are going to dog sit over the summer so the boys and I can spend some time with dogs. I am a teacher so I'm home all summer with my two boys. We might need to run an errand but otherwise we will be home all day and will take dogs along to any parks or hikes we go on Pets are allowed on the couches and in the beds. We have a cat who is 17 but she doesn't mind dogs. She spends most of her day napping.
“Yana is an excellent cat sitter! We asked her to visit our cat Izzy who was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis while we were out of town. We had asked a vet tech to come in to give a series of medications, but wanted someone to visit to give Izzy cuddles and attention. She was great! We got photos and reports every day. We understand that Yana can also do home stays. She met our dogs on a pre-trip visit and seemed great with them, too. We had made other arrangements this time, but I look forward to using her with all the animals in the future.”

“Shaina is the best! She sends over lots of photos and detailed notes about each visit. I feel comfortable when we’re away knowing that our boy is in great hands with her. Thanks Shaina, Simba loved hanging out with you!”

“Tiffany is awesome! She did drop-in visits with our cat Marshall while my husband and I went out of town for a trip. He warmed up to her right away. She is very communicative and super quick to respond. Would definitely recommend her to others and will be re-booking in the future!”

About: As a Star Sitter, I have a proven track record of providing a calm, safe, and fun home environment with a high level of attention and care. Because I work from home, your dog receives consistent supervision, multiple daily walks, and plenty of engagement throughout the day. We love hosting dogs - your pup will be treated like part of the family 💕 I intentionally host one dog at a time (or dogs from the same household) to maintain a safe, low-stress environment and provide individualized care. The dogs in my photos are past guests and are not present during your dog’s stay. Before You Book: Important Requirements To ensure a great experience for everyone, I only accept dogs who are: • Fully house trained • Friendly with humans (no history of aggression) • Able to safely pass other dogs on walks • Comfortable in a new environment (no destructive behavior or significant anxiety) • Able to sleep through the night If your dog has anxiety, reactivity, or behavioral challenges, please be transparent so I can determine if this is the right fit. New Clients • Meet & greet required • First-time bookings: a one night trial stay is strongly recommended before longer stays I am home based and am an avid walker, plenty of availability. Your dog would not be left alone for more than a few hours when I have to run out for errands or appointments. I’m a homebody! I live in a safe, quiet neighborhood in the north hills with flat, easy loops for walking. I also have a fenced in, flat backyard that dogs love to play in. I have a 12 year old son who loves dogs and will gladly play with your pup.
“Abby has been a great help! My pups are happy to have a visitor when we are gone for long hours. Abby leaves house tidy and follows instructions. Will definitely use again!”

“Danielle helped me in a last minute pinch, responded promptly and was courteous and professional. She did exactly what I needed for my kitty - giving him his meds, cleaning his litterbox, and playing with him while also taking great update pics.”

About: I have owned and taken care of dogs of all sizes and ages. I have also managed dogs with severe anxiety and certain health issues. I am a college student so until May I am limited to weekends. After May, I will be available workdays and weekends during the day and at night. I have confident skills in understanding dog and cat language from past experiences. I am also great at handling and crating dogs at their own comfort level.
“Katelyn has checked in/walked my 1-year old Cavapoo, Toby, multiple times. She is very responsive to messages, on time to bookings and follows any notes I leave about his food, etc. She is trustworthy and my pup loves her! We will continue to book with her! 🐶”

“Cam took such excellent care of my kitties! Great, thorough, timely, and hilarious updates. My cats were so chill when I got home, I seriously think they were like, wait a minute, where’s Cam, what are you doing here?? Gilly has a new best friend, and even Petunia, my cat with a shall we say ‘difficult’ personality, was warming up. I’d hire Cam again in a heartbeat!”

“Megan was amazing.... she fed my cats while we were away in Florida. She even brought in our mail for us. We loved the picture she sent us and knowing that our cats were fed & happy.”
“Chang is extremely responsible and takes excellent care of pets. Very kind and goes the extra mile to make sure the pet is happy. She is very knowledgeable about animals and understands what they need.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Ross Township
It was so nice to have Jennifer looking after our cat. She showed up every day with pictures and commentary on hour things were going at home. This was our first time using Rover but we'll be using it again in the future. It provided us so much peace of mind during our travels.

I cannot recommend Faux enough! She took absolutely wonderful care of my cat. Beyond the standard routine, she was more than willing to go the extra mile by handling both oral medications and injections with great care and patience. Her professional attitude and dedication gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I will definitely be booking with her again!

Literally the best sitter on this app. Her and her daughter take the best care of my kitties, and they love them just as much as my kitties love them!! I will choose them over and over again. She is so flexible and last time she watched our cats she even came an extra day! Sends me pics of them every day. Could not recommend her more. The best!

I’m very happy that I chose Ana to provide drop-in visits for my somewhat difficult cat “Pinkee”. It was the first time for drop-in visits and it worked out very well. Ana was very professional, responsible, thorough, attentive and showed great care. She provided daily photos and summaries of her visits. I would not hesitate to contact Ana again through Rover in the future for either drop-in visits or boarding.

Rae Lynn did a great job taking care of our cats. We were a bit changeable about the booking: we removed a date, added a cat, added the removed date back. Rae was wonderfully flexible and accommodated all our short-notice changes. She sent photos and updates, and our cats were well cared for in our absence.

April was absolutely terrific. A++++. She watched my senior kitty, Sadie, plus my other kitty, Zoe, while I was on vacation. Unfortunately, while I was gone, Sadie took a turn downhill. April gladly agreed to take her to the vet for me & had me on speaker during the vet visit. April continued to visit Zoe daily until my return. I totally recommend April. She has been kind & loving.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ross Township. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
