“Emily was so wonderful! She was extremely responsive when I contacted her and came over immediately to meet our precious Ezra! She arrived promptly and sent me reports and pictures of her visit. I would highly recommend Emily! I will be using her again for sure!!! Thank you Emily, you made my time away stress free!!”

“Angie is amazing with my dog!!! Our dog is super finicky on who she lets put a leash on her, and Angie kept at it little by little, until our dog was her best buddy! Now our dog gets excited when we mention Angie’s name. She is the best!!!”

“Wow! I am seriously impressed with Hannah. She jived well with my dog Xander, has been just a hero in a situation where I desperately needed someone to watch Xander while I took his sister to puppy class. She was on time and had no problem with the full hour. I picked up a very contented Xander. I would highly recommend!”

“Tyler was wonderful!! My dog is afraid of everyone but he took quickly to Tyler, even layed down by his feet! That’s a biggie for my dog. Tyler is very personable, respectful and trustworthy and I will not hesitate to use him again.”

“Shelby is completely awesome!!!! Very communicative, dependable, and obviously cares for all animals. I’m stuck on the 2nd floor due to a broken leg, so she has really helped me in a jam!”

About: I love all animals! Being a responsible, communicative caregiver to your adorable pet would be my No. 1 focus! I have raised children and different dog breeds for many years. I am reliable and I am also observant when it comes to noticing behaviors that may be out of his/her ordinary routine. I’m excited to meet & care your ADORABLE furry family member(s). I am available Monday through Thursday & sometimes on weekends depending on your needs and my availability (I work a flexible schedule). I’ve never known life without a furry family member. Not afraid of inclement weather, toilet accidents, or administering meds. Trust me to take this worry off your plate. I am the type of person where dogs and animals naturally enter into my space. I believe that’s because they sense my interest in them. I will keep your dog safe and communicate any issues with you in a prompt and professional manner. I am seeking to earn some side hustle money and be active while doing it.
“Kira has been so fantastic with Doug, The Cooper, and Moshi. We could not be more pleased. She uses the Rover app to let us know when she arrives, how long Doug is on his walk, his “action” and the photos are priceless. We will continue to use her as long as possible. A+”
“I can't recommend Ashley enough as a dog walker! She has been walking my golden retriever, Molly, regularly for a couple of months now, and I couldn't be happier with her services. Ashley is incredibly reliable and always shows up on time, which gives me peace of mind during my busy days. Not only is she friendly and approachable, but her genuine love for dogs truly shines through in her interactions with Molly. It’s clear that she goes above and beyond to make sure Molly is happy and well-cared for during their walks. If you’re looking for someone who is trustworthy and has a real passion for dogs, look no further than Ashley! She’s fantastic, and I’m so grateful to have her!”

About: I have taken care of my neighbors’ animals since I was nine years old. I often take care of their dogs for several days at a time while they’re away. I love taking care of animals and making them feel safe and cared for, despite their parents not being home. I have work 8-5 every weekday, but I can pet-sit afterwards and stop by during my lunch break! My weekends are completely free, so I can spend the whole day with your pet if they have more frequent needs. I have had experience from young puppies and kittens to senior dogs and cats. I understand that every animal has differing needs, so I will do my best to accommodate to everything that will make your pet feel safe.

“Diana was great! Our dog is sweet, but not the easiest to walk. She didn’t really mind his quirks and seemed very comfortable with him-70 pounds. Would definitely ask her again! Her communication was timely and she came over for a meet and greet before her first walk. Thank you!”

About: Hi, I’m Hope! I’ve always felt at home with animals, especially dogs. I believe every dog has their own unique personality, and I love taking the time to understand what makes them feel safe, happy, and loved. Whether your pup is energetic and playful or calm and cuddly, I’ll meet them where they are with patience, kindness, and genuine care. I’m dependable, attentive, and treat every pet as if they were my own. You can expect regular updates, photos, and clear communication so you always know your furry family member is happy and in good hands. I’m comfortable with walks, playtime, feeding routines, administering basic medications if needed, and giving plenty of affection and companionship. My goal is to provide a calm, loving environment where your dog feels secure while you’re away. I know trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. I’d love the opportunity to care for your best friend and become someone you can rely on whenever you need a helping hand.
About: The number one thing in life that brings me joy is caring for animals. I currently work as a nurse and I’m working on completing my masters. I’ve cared for animals of all shapes and sizes, and used to rescue senior dogs. I am happy to care for either cats or dogs (or both!). I currently have 2 Newfies that help keep me on my toes, and I’ve had many cats throughout my life (most recently a Maine Coon that passed at age 20).I’m happy to assist with walks, play time, boarding, etc., please reach out with any questions. I look forward to meeting your furry friends! I am working part time on Saturdays and Sundays, so I am free during the week for pet care services. I can do up to 3 drop in visits per day depending on distance. Dogs are like toddlers, so you always have to be watching (especially the puppies), so I am very attentive to their needs and wants. I love taking them outside and playing or going for walks. I match your pets energy level, so if they can go for a long walk, we go for long walks and vice versa with shorter walks for older dogs.
About: I have grown up my entire life with dogs and cats in the home. I started dog sitting when I was ten for a family friend and worked at a local kennel through middle and high school. I am now the proud father of 3 of my own and cherish every moment I spend with them. I am currently working partime and set my own schedule so I will have plenty of time to show your pups all the love they deserve when mom and dad are away. Whether is playing fetch or a nice long walk I'll make sure your children are happy and excercised when you can't be there to do it for them.

About: Hi, my name is Kayla and here is a little bit about me! I am a senior at Oakland University studying human resource management and currently work part time as an HR intern. Alongside, I used to head coach for Lake Orion's dance team! Some hobbies of mine include going for long walks, cooking, working out, or spending time with friends and family. I am looking for a part time job I can do on the days I don't work at my internship. I would be happy to help in anyway possible! I have 4 years of experience with pet care. I have pet sat for an 11 yo golden retriever and a 2 yo husky mix. I grew up with two chihuahuas and my family now currently has two siamese kittens that are 3 years old! I just recently got an apartment in Rochester and unfortunately no longer live with my cats, which has me missing being around and taking care of animals! I can board, perform baths, take for walks, play time, bathroom care, and assist with proper feeding schedules. As it is summer, I am not currently in school. I currently work part time as an intern at an automotive supplier. As interns are not able to be full time and I just recently got an apartment in Rochester, I am looking for another job I can do on the side. I love animals, love going for walks and working out, and currently miss my pets I had back home before I moved out. I felt like this would be the perfect opportunity for me! My schedule is free any other time that I am not working, which is flexible and most of the time remote. I also get an hour lunch at work that I am able to leave the office if need be. I am willing to communicate and work something out if need be for any reason! I have a very outgoing, fun, and playful personality with pets! They will feel very welcomed and safe in my space. I do not have any pets at my apartment currently so they, and you do not need to worry about that. My apartment has a really great dog park at it, as well as many great areas to walk and play! Rochester is perfect for having a pet. I also have a very clean and tidy apartment perfect for a pet to spend time at if needed!

Our schedule are different each week, but would love to hear from you to see if we would be a good fit for your pets! We can take your dog to the dog park to get some of their energy out. We also would love to take your dog for a hike or a run.

We cannot recommend Erin enough! She made time for us last-minute and with an incredibly busy schedule, was very patient and personable, and was very attentive and sweet to our dog, Ember. She communicated well, was super flexible with our calendar, and we absolutely loved her. Would hire her again in a heartbeat!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
