Shivambika took care of my dog like her own. She sent me timely updates and kept me informed about my dog’s wellbeing. My dog was a little sad and wasn’t eating very well but Shivambika tried different things to make sure she eats well and she succeeded too. Her house is very clean and beautiful. I would definitely leave my dog there again.

Our first time using Rover was with Tory and we had a really nice experience! Tory was super nice and kept sending us pictures at least 3 times a day of na’vi. Our dog clearly enjoyed her time staying with Tory. We will definitely ask Tory again to take care of na’vi for any future event. We definitely recommend her!!!

Laura and Joe took care of our two older dogs for a week while we drove a couple of hours to have a vacation. We knew from our visit with them that Laura would be caring and attentive, but she really did go above and beyond! We received multiple updates and photos and videos daily. Even more impressive was how well Laura handled a behavioral problem that arose with one of our dogs. I had forgotten that he once had this problem with us -six years ago when we got him - and when it popped up again, Laura dealt with it so well! She even purchased something that we thought would help, after messaging with me about the issue. Laura’s care and confidence saved our vacation, when a less experienced sitter might have asked us to return and pick up our dog. The problem resolved and our dogs had a wonderful stay with Laura and Joe. We have always used a kennel in the past. It is a small one and the dogs are out playing much of the day. Last time, things did not go well there for our 13 year-old dog. We tried Rover to find someone who would provide both a safe setting and special care for our dogs. We got this with Laura, for sure!

I was very lucky when I found Ilona S to care for my small pup, Lula. The original plan was that Lula would be able to join me at the VRBO my Family had rented so it was quite a surprise to find out that the property owners would not welcome any animals. So, the hunt began to find a space where she would be safe and welcomed. After speaking with Ilona S, I felt comfortable enough to book Luna's stay. And as soon as we arrived at her home, I knew we had made the best possible choice. Such a warm, friendly person. I met her Family and was impressed at how charming the house was decorated for the Fall season. Clean, tidy and festive! I received daily photos, video clips and texts about Lula's activity. All communications were clear. I would absolutely recommend Ilona S. for your board & care needs and will book her again should I require care for Lula. 5 Star Rating.

About: Hi! I’m 30 years old and I’ve been around dogs my whole life. I grew up in a house full of dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities—my mom always had rescues and mixed breeds, so I’m very comfortable with different temperaments and energy levels. Today, I have my own adopted 16 lb mixed-breed dog, and caring for him has only deepened my love and experience with dogs. I’m confident handling puppies and energetic dogs, and I truly enjoy walks, playtime, and giving them attention and care. For safety reasons, I prefer not to work with dogs that are overly aggressive or difficult to manage. My experience is focused entirely on dogs, so I’m not the best fit for cats or other types of pets. I’m available to foster small dogs in my apartment. I work from home and I’m able to walk him/her 3/4 times a day. I’m also available for drop-in visits between 6 AM–8 AM and anytime after 5 PM. I live in an apartment with a fenced area, which is great for safe outdoor time. I’m also happy to take your dog on walks outside around the neighborhood. I can feed, play with, and walk your dog, making sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you’re away.

Lia, Jonathan and their entire family are amazing! This was the first time I have used Rover, so I was very nervous. Jonathan and Lia sent updates, photos and videos throughout the day. They put my mind at ease and I was able to have a wonderful vacation. I think my sweet girl misses them, but we already booked her next two stays with them!

About: I love dogs all my life and experienced with daily feeding routines, leash walking, potty breaks, and basic supervision. I take dogs on 3–4 leashed walks per day and closely monitor their comfort, behavior, and safety. I am a full time staying home mom so I have plenty of times to take care of your dogs. I want to make a schedule at least 5 days earlier. Calm, clean house with a yard (not fenced). Dogs are always supervised and taken on 3–4 leashed walks daily. I accept small, medium dogs only and host one guest at a time, alongside my friendly Cavapoochon Taco.

Cynthia was a true gem and lifesaver when she helped us out when we were really in a pinch. House painter chaos, odors and noises became just too much for the two dogs and we humans even ended up at hotel (but no dogs allowed). Cynthia was able to really step in and provide wonderful care with lots of love for Buster and Bette. Trusting, knowledgeable, friendly, attentive, excellent communicator, dog lover extraordinaire… that’s Cynthia.

Marissa did an awesome job taking care of my dog for 10 days. This was the first time we left him for a long period of time and he did great. He got a lot of attention and love, and he hesitated coming back home since he had so much fun! She also took care of him for a few weeks in the past for daily day care, and he had a blast! He used to get so excited going into the car every day to go to her house.

Sarah was a great host for our dogs while we went away for 2 weeks. She helped coronate an initial meet and greet to make sure the dogs got along and we were comfortable leaving them. She was also incredibly responsive to all texts leading up to our stay and during, as well as keeping us updated with pictures the entire time. She let our boys make themselves at home, which we really appreciated. 10/10 stay, would use her and family as a host again! Thanks so much!

Hongjun was incredibly friendly and made us feel at ease right away. She sent us lots of photos during our dog’s stay, which really reassured us. In the photos, our dog looked so relaxed and comfortable — it was clear that she was cared for like a family member. Our dog is quite picky and preparing her meals can be a bit of a hassle, but Hongjun handled everything so thoughtfully, which we truly appreciated. On top of that, her husband is a great animal photographer and even gifted us a wonderful photo of our dog! We would absolutely love to ask them again in the future. Highly recommended!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Rochester home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
