“Henry and Sharon have been amazing dog sitters for my 7month old puppy Bodhi. They watch him for puppy daycare one day weekly. They are very communicative and reliable and make sure they understand your dog’s personality and care needs so they can make it a comfortable and positive stay. We had a meet and greet with their dog Rufus prior to setting up daycare and Bodhi and Rufus play very well together. They always send a Rover card documenting how the day went with photos and potty breaks. They even go above and beyond and give Bodhi mental enrichment with puzzles and healthy treats. Thank you Sharon and Henry for taking such good care of my little boy!”

“Abraham took exceptional care of my dogs, Raven and Kisses, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the start, it was clear that Abraham has a real passion for dogs. I was nervous at first because my bully doesn’t get along with other dogs to well and my chihuahua is very picky with people but He was attentive, reliable, and went above and beyond to make sure my dogs were comfortable and well cared for while I was away. I will definitely be booking with him again.”

About: I offer personalized dog care in a safe, peaceful home where each dog receives close attention, structure, and affection. I understand that every dog has a different personality, comfort level, and routine, so I take the time to help them settle in and feel secure. I also keep pet parents informed with regular updates, photos, and clear communication throughout the stay. I work from home full time, which allows me to be present throughout the day and give your dog regular attention, supervision, companionship, potty breaks, and a comfortable routine. We live in a house with a fenced yard, so dogs have a safe and secure space to relax and play. I also have a gentle and friendly dog of my own who gets along well with others. I understand that every dog has different needs and routines, so I’m happy to accommodate any special needs. I also have a spare crate available if needed. I truly love dogs and will make sure your pup feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they are with us.

“We were visiting Folsom for a birthday party and left our Pomeranian with Shannon for about 4 hours so we wouldn't have to worry about Belle getting fed by the kids and all. It was so nice to be able to relax while Belle hung out with Shannon and some other dogs! All went well and we got a few videos of Belle! Shannon was very good at communicating with us.”

“Alyssa was great! She made the experience super easy and comfortable. Opie was wiped out when he came home and loved her pool! I also super appreciated how understanding she was when we hit traffic on our way to pick Opie up.”

“Alexis and her family were amazing! Came in nervous to drop off our new puppy but they seem like genuine kind people who made us feel at ease. Our puppy seemed like she had lots of love and fun around her.”

“Highly recommend. Nanci IS the 'dog whisperer'. She was able to sense all of my dog's needs (good and bad), and made her stay comfortable, enjoyable and safe. My dog suffers from separation anxiety, and Nancy took extra care to give her plenty of lap time. I received lots of great updates, photos and videos. Can't get enough of those, and Nanci has a wonderful photographer's eye. Can you really tell that Nanci has years and years of experience, which helped this anxious mom to feel confident. And the icing? Nanci (and her whole human and furry pack) are super friendly and nice to be around.”

“Laura is amazing! I was honestly really nervous about leaving Ollie with someone new, but Laura immediately put me at ease. She was super friendly, warm, and patient, and Ollie warmed up to her so quickly. She sent me updates throughout the day, which I really appreciated and helped me feel reassured. He looked so happy and comfortable in her care and seemed to really enjoy his stay. I would definitely trust her to take care of my fur baby again.”

About: I've had two dogs of my own as an adult, grew up with family dogs, and regularly do walks and drop-ins for my neighbor's dog. Both of my boys were brachycephalic breeds, so I understand how much care that takes — I'm especially attentive to heat sensitivity, breathing, and pacing during walks, and I know how to read a dog's signals and adjust accordingly. I've taken several dog training classes, read several books on positive dog training, and understand a dog's body language and signals. I've also cared for both senior and sick dogs, including my English bulldog who lived to 12 and my Frenchie that I supported through IVDD and surgery. I'm currently between jobs at the moment, and both my kids are in school. I'm generally open from 9am to 4pm for drop-ins and walks. I am extremely cautious and respectful in people's homes, and sensitive to both to their privacy and their belongings. I don't even like opening the fridge in my siblings' own homes.
“Aguarin is such a nice and sweet guy. I need to find a babysitter very last minute. He replied to my daycare request right away, was super responsive and nice about everything. He also sent me timely updates during the day and my corgi looked very happy and cozy. Definitely recommend!!”

“Wonderful experience! Thanks so much for taking such great care of Tamiko. I really appreciated the two walks and the photos you sent to keep me updated. It was clear Tamiko received lots of tender loving care. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with you again. Highly recommend!”

“Stephanie is wonderful! From the moment we connected, I knew she was someone I could trust with my puppy! She’s so nice and responds quickly. We have an upcoming two week vacation and in preparation for it, we decided to start with a little day visit. Stephanie sent several updates and even a picture during the day. This made us feel more at ease with leaving Roscoe with her. We will definitely be working with Stephanie again in the future!”

“Jenny was great with Raafi! She followed all the care instructions provided. When we picked him up at the end of the day, he kept looking at Jenny from the car while she walked back into the house. That’s how we know he really bonded with her. Thank you Jenny for looking after our puppy!”

“We left our 10 month puppy with Kumari for the day. Kumari took great care of the puppy, and sent us regular updates and pictures. She even filled out a detail rover card with all his activities when we picked him up. Will definitely recommend and reach out again in the future.”
“Blaze is absolutely THE BEST! I needed someone last minute and she was available and took amazing care of my dog. He helped her do all the fam chores this morning, met a bunch of new animals and loved her kids. Would recommend 1000%”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Rancho Murieta commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
