“Bella has stayed with Amy &Justin now twice. And I am absolutely thrilled. She’s very relaxed when I pick her up so I know she had a good experience. Amy &Justin are a great team and communicate well. Bella loves kids so I’m sure she gets lots of love from their children. I feel such a relief finding Amy &Justin. They live close to me and they treat my dog like family. What more can you ask?”

“We were visiting Folsom for a birthday party and left our Pomeranian with Shannon for about 4 hours so we wouldn't have to worry about Belle getting fed by the kids and all. It was so nice to be able to relax while Belle hung out with Shannon and some other dogs! All went well and we got a few videos of Belle! Shannon was very good at communicating with us.”

“Henry and Sharon have been amazing dog sitters for my 7month old puppy Bodhi. They watch him for puppy daycare one day weekly. They are very communicative and reliable and make sure they understand your dog’s personality and care needs so they can make it a comfortable and positive stay. We had a meet and greet with their dog Rufus prior to setting up daycare and Bodhi and Rufus play very well together. They always send a Rover card documenting how the day went with photos and potty breaks. They even go above and beyond and give Bodhi mental enrichment with puzzles and healthy treats. Thank you Sharon and Henry for taking such good care of my little boy!”

About: I love cats and dogs and will make sure they get lots of attention and that their area is kept clean and tidy so you come home to a nice place! Works out perfectly for me to go and take care of pets! I will make sure your pets have attention and that their area and the house or apartment is well taken care of and kept clean
“Alexa was wonderful with our shy pup Ollie. She sent regular updates and photos throughout the day, which gave us such peace of mind. Ollie takes time to warm up to new people, and Alexa was incredibly patient and she let him come around on his own terms. We’re so grateful to have found someone we can trust with our little guy. Highly recommend Alexa!”

“Sugar had a blast with Jenny and Sadie - so much fun Sugar parkour out the car window lol. Jenny is great! She provided updates throughout the day and is very responsive. After picking up Sugar, she just stares out the car window hoping we go back.”

About: I've had two dogs of my own as an adult, grew up with family dogs, and regularly do walks and drop-ins for my neighbor's dog. Both of my boys were brachycephalic breeds, so I understand how much care that takes — I'm especially attentive to heat sensitivity, breathing, and pacing during walks, and I know how to read a dog's signals and adjust accordingly. I've taken several dog training classes, read several books on positive dog training, and understand a dog's body language and signals. I've also cared for both senior and sick dogs, including my English bulldog who lived to 12 and my Frenchie that I supported through IVDD and surgery. I'm currently between jobs at the moment, and both my kids are in school. I'm generally open from 9am to 4pm for drop-ins and walks. I am extremely cautious and respectful in people's homes, and sensitive to both to their privacy and their belongings. I don't even like opening the fridge in my siblings' own homes.
About: I have been a dog lover my entire life. I currently own a Great Pyrenees and a Chiweenie. I also have a beautiful Siamese cat named Lady Jinx and an orange tabby named Garfield. Over the years I have also owned horses, rabbits, rats, and fish. My pets are my family and I call then my little hairy humans. I have done house sitting/ pet sitting for friends and family members. I am bonded and will treat your home and pets with the utmost care and respect. I am available to watch your pets in my home or yours, depending on your needs. My standard services include a walk, food/water, meds if needed, poo removal, mail pick up, and plant watering. I currently work as a CNA at Marshall Hospital taking care of people. Now I want to care for animals too!
“Elaine, treated Cruz like one of her own. She gave her lots of love and attention. Cruz had such a great time with her and her pups that she didn’t want to leave each day, and was ecstatic going back each morning. Elaine provided us with great pics and detailed updates. So thankful to know that Cruz had a wonderful week of daycare with her!!”

“Aguarin has been an amazing dog sitter for Teddy while my husband and I are at work. This was Teddy’s first visit with him, and we could not be happier with the experience. He took such great care of Teddy and truly treated him like family. Teddy came home super happy, relaxed, and you could tell he genuinely enjoyed spending time there. Aguarin definitely spoiled him with love, attention, and care, which gave us so much peace of mind during our busy work days. We will absolutely continue using Aguarin as our dog sitter because Teddy seems the most comfortable with him, and that means everything to us. I would highly recommend him to all my friends and family looking for someone trustworthy, caring, and reliable to watch their pets. Thank you again for taking such great care of Teddy!”

“Highly recommend. I have a small dog that suffers from separation anxiety. Rachel made sure that our dog felt safe and provided her plenty of company. Rachel was very responsive, professional and friendly. She has a beautiful home and a safe back yard, and lives in a great neighborhood with good places for dog walks. We look forward to more stays with Rachel in the future.”

About: I have been actively taking care of pets my whole life. I love animals and treat them like my own children. I have a 10 year old daughter who is on her way to become a vet and wife who loves pets just as much! I work from home and can accommodate your schedule at anytime needed. I would be happy to make sure that your pet has the best experience. I have a fully fenced yard on a quiet street. I allow pets to use any furniture they would like to make themselves a home
About: Dogs have always been a part of my life. I grew up with dogs, including a Golden Retriever, and I've always had a soft spot for animals of all kinds. After settling down and starting our family, we were ready to bring a dog back into our lives, and in 2024 we adopted Izzy, our friendly 2-year-old female German Shorthaired Pointer. Our family loves having Izzy around, and I would love the opportunity to give your dog the same kind of attention, affection, and care while you're away. I work from home, so your dog won't be spending the day alone. They'll get plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and love throughout their stay. We live in a clean, comfortable, family-friendly home on nearly half an acre with a fully fenced yard and a doggie door that gives dogs easy access to the yard throughout the day. Our home is welcoming to both kids and animals, and your dog will be able to enjoy the freedom to go outside, play, explore, or come back inside whenever they'd like. My husband and I were adventurous before settling down and starting our family so we decided not to jump into pet ownership until more recently. Now after having kids, we want to make sure that we are all fully ready to jump back into the long term commitment of pet ownership. In the meantime though, I have a lot of love to share and I would adore hosting your pet. My home is in town but offers nearly a half acre of fenced in yard space. I am happy to keep your pet indoors, outdoors, or a mix. Whatever you and your pet prefer, I can accommodate. I work from home and can give your pet lots of attention throughout the day. Please feel free to call me, swing by for a tour, and feel comfortable knowing that your treasured family member(s) is safe here with me. I work from home and am available every day, all day, to meet your pet's needs. I have a large fenced backyard with a doggie door for potty breaks and play time. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. Because I only host one dog family at a time, I can provide individualized attention and avoid the stress that can come with a home full of unfamiliar animals. We have a clean, non-smoking, kid-friendly home and a large, fully fenced yard. Our doggie door provides supervised-by-presence access between the house and fenced yard, giving your dog the flexibility to go outside for potty breaks or play without having to wait for someone to open the door. Izzy is friendly and enjoys having other dogs around, but I will always make introductions thoughtfully and pay close attention to each dog's personality and comfort level. I'll follow your dog's normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, medications, sleep preferences, and any special instructions. You'll also receive daily photo updates so you can see how your pup is doing while you're away.

“We are so happy that we found Nanci. She is so nice and provided a wonderful day for our pup. She sent pictures and videos throughout his stay so we could see how he was enjoying his day.”

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
