“Shannon took such wonderful care of Pepper during her stay. From the moment I felt at ease knowing she was in a safe, loving and attentive environment. This was Pepper’s first long time stay with Shannon and she created a comfortable, and caring environment for Pepper. She kept me updated with thoughtful messages, photos and videos. This made me at ease too seeing Pepper relaxed, content and getting plenty of attention. When I picked up Pepper, she was her happy self which tells me she received good quality care. I am so grateful for Shannon’s kindness and her love for animals. Pepper will definitely be staying with her again. Thank you Shannon for taking good care of Pepper and treating her like your own.”

“Amy and Justin were amazing with Daisy! They were incredibly flexible and were able to take her a day earlier than originally planned, which we really appreciated. This was Daisy’s first stay with them after a meet-and-greet, and she had the best time and she came home completely worn out from all the fun! They sent photos and updates while we were away, which gave us so much peace of mind. We’re so happy we found them, and Daisy is already booked for a longer stay this summer. Highly recommend!”

“Ruchi and Nitin were great and accommodated us on short notice for an overnight stay. They have two sweet dogs that they introduced slowly to ensure everyone got along well. They also provided plenty of pictures and updates. Jackson came home happy and exhausted. Thank you!”

“Patti & Joe are absolutely wonderful pet sitters! This is the first time I’ve used Rover, and it worked out perfectly. I didn’t worry about my little Pomeranian Pedro the entire time he was with them! I highly recommend Patti!”

“Sharon and Henry were absolutely amazing! They are extremely caring and went above and beyond to make sure Tony felt at home. They sent plenty of pictures and updates, which really helped ease my anxiety — I didn’t have a single moment of concern the entire time. It was clear Tony enjoyed his stay and was showered with love and attention. I couldn’t have asked for better sitters. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for truly thoughtful and reliable care!”

About: I have always had a pet dog throughout my life, so being around dogs feels natural to me. Taking care of them has been part of my daily routine, from feeding and walking them to making sure they are happy and healthy. Over time, I’ve learned how to understand their behavior and needs, which has helped me build a strong connection with them. Dogs have always been an important part of my life, and I enjoy spending time with them and caring for them. I work from home and love the challenge of some dogs. I wake up at 5 and feed my own dog and do some work. After I usually take him out for walks through the day. I walk him about 2 miles and can also walk your own dog, just tell me and I can do it. I can also follow any strict dietary restrictions if your dogs requires it for food. After around 3 I am free and spend time with my dogs all day after and chill with him beside me. But, if your dogs requires sheds a lot, I can’t promise he will be sleeping with me or be laying on the couch, I have a specialized ginormous dog bed for he/she. I live in El Dorado Hills, so it is very hilly in some areas, including my home. I have a big dog kennel outside that is surrounded by a fence, while I have a large dog cage inside my house that can also be used. I also have a area for the dogs to run and play in my backyard.
“This is my second time using Rover and I couldn't be happier! I'm pretty sure Tucker didn't even want to come home after his stay at Walee's. He had an absolute blast running around her huge yard with her dog Ike. As I type this, Tucker is still sleeping on the couch after a solid 3 hour nap. I would absolutely recommend Walee to anyone looking for someone to watch their dog!”

“Melissa and her family and pets were wonderful and took excellent care of my dog when I had to go out of town. She is easy to communicate with and sends regular updates which is appreciated. I can highly recommend her.”

“We are so relieved to have a smart, reliable family... to watch our Haru when we're away. They kept me updated throughout Haru’s stay. We highly recommend Mike and Patricia!”

“We had a fantastic experience with Deborah! She was attentive, reliable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. Our pup was happy and well-cared for, and we received regular updates that gave us peace of mind while we were away. She also took our pup on walks which was great. We will look forward to use her service again. Highly recommend!”
“Barbara and family was very kind and welcoming to my dog. She asked all the questions that made me feel like my girl was going to be well taken care of even to the extent of switching her sleeping habits to my dog’s. I highly recommend! Thank you so much for taking care of my girl!”

“Amber watched my dog Squid for two nights. Squid has bad separation anxiety and struggles being away from home. Amber was fantastic and our dog seemed to love staying at her place. We’ll definitely be booking again.”

“Had a last minute trip and needed to find someone to watch my dog. None of my friend's were available, so I had to use someone on Rover. I was very nervous, as I hadn't used Rover before. My dog is very important to me and it was unsettling to leave him with a stranger. However, the stay with Kate worked out really well. She was flexible and accommodating throughout the entire process. From scheduling our initial visit, to drop off, to pickup. Flexible drop off and pick up times are huge and are one of the biggest hassles when dealing with a kennel. She was nice enough to assemble and disassemble his crate for me, which was a nice surprise, given how hectic traveling can be. I look forward to future bookings with Kate.”

“Elaine is an amazing, experienced sitter and knew just how to help Floyd feel comfortable and settle in for a short stay. I appreciate the great communication and frequent updates. 100% would recommend her to anyone looking for a safe, caring environment for their animals.”

“Becky was an amazing host for our Winnie. She is very knowledgeable about many different breeds of dogs and has 2 beautiful dogs of her own. Winnie had a ball walking and playing with them both. She sent me fun videos and photos every day and Winnie returned home healthy and happy. I highly recommend her to take care of your fur babies!”

“Irina did a great job of caring for my little dog Fred. Fred is a rescue and tends to be anxious in new situations. Irina and her environment are very welcoming and this was not wasted on Fred. He stayed close to Irina during his visit, following her everywhere. When she sat on the couch, she picked him up to be next to her. She had more than 1 dog boarding and I think this was also beneficial for Fred. I would gladly choose Irina again.”

“This was our first time leaving our dog with someone for a weekend. We were able to meet with Jennifer before hand to see her house and yard, which helped us feel more comfortable. Our dog tends to be on the anxious side but Jennifer was patient and her two daughters were also very kind with our dog. We got daily updates and our dog seemed well taken care of when we picked her up again.”

About: I've taken care of and raised my own cat Link since we adopted him from a shelter event! He's almost 7 now and doing wonderfully! I've also volunteered at an outdoor cat sanctuary for over a year, taking care of cats with special needs and caring for them!

“Cole is the best cat sitter I’ve had through Rover. His check-ins were regular and his updates and photos were above and beyond. I’m so grateful to him for taking care of my 2 cats this week and a half!”

“Deanna is AMAZING!!!! She’s so good with our cats!!! They’re usually shy and not playful when we leave. With Deanna, they played and played! Thank you Deanna!! We will see you again!!!!”

“Alida did a great job with our cat Confetti! Everything was perfect – she had fresh food and water, her litter box was clean, and she sent us photos every visit. We were very happy with the job she did and plan on asking her back in the future!”

“Justin is easy to work with and a great communicator. We appreciated that he got back to us right away to confirm his availability and provided twice daily updates on our dogs. We won’t hesitate to recommend him to our friends and neighbors. Thanks Justin!”

About: I don’t have much experience with taking care of cats. Most of my friends do own cats and so always hang out with them. I have volunteered at Fat Kitty City where there are a multitude of cats that I feed.

About: When I was little, my next-door neighbor relied on me to take care of her old cat for weeks at a time! As I’ve grown and started my journey in the animal health field, I’ve been pet-sitting for the veterinarian at the clinic I used to work at- who owns cats that require a specific diet, and one who requires insulin injections and medication! I love cats just as much as I love dogs, and care for their well-being more than anything! It would be my pleasure to take care of cats of any age!

“Carmen and her daughter made us feel so reassured our puppy was in the best hands on her first vacation. Carmen gave our high maintenance pup lots of love and us updates with photos, videos and updates. Our puppy loved them right away and was so happy during her vacation. Carmen reinforced our puppy’s training and gave her so many walkies that our puppy already misses her vacation with Carmen! Carmen treated our pup like her own, taking her on car rides and letting her sleep on her bed. We highly recommended Carmen!”

Whether a cat is affectionate or more reserved, I’m patient, observant, and attentive to their needs. While I don’t currently have cats of my own due to a busy lifestyle, I genuinely love caring for them and appreciate the trust owners place in me. My goal is always to make sure cats feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for until you return.

“Kyla was amazing! She and our dog, Riley, got along really well. She was very attentive to Riley’s needs and was very quick to update us with any news! We would highly recommend her to anyone in the area. 10/10 would recommend”

“Lisa was very easy to communicate with from the initial Meet & Greet to the contact throughout her caregiving time. She always showed up on time & stayed the entire time we paid for (which has been an issue with other pet sitters). She sent pictures & comments about our kitties & we knew she engaged WITH our cats (so important to us!), rather than simply just feeding, cleaning their litterboxes, & leaving. Will definitely use her services again.”

“We were visiting Folsom for a birthday party and left our Pomeranian with Shannon for about 4 hours so we wouldn't have to worry about Belle getting fed by the kids and all. It was so nice to be able to relax while Belle hung out with Shannon and some other dogs! All went well and we got a few videos of Belle! Shannon was very good at communicating with us.”

“Henry and Sharon have been amazing dog sitters for my 7month old puppy Bodhi. They watch him for puppy daycare one day weekly. They are very communicative and reliable and make sure they understand your dog’s personality and care needs so they can make it a comfortable and positive stay. We had a meet and greet with their dog Rufus prior to setting up daycare and Bodhi and Rufus play very well together. They always send a Rover card documenting how the day went with photos and potty breaks. They even go above and beyond and give Bodhi mental enrichment with puzzles and healthy treats. Thank you Sharon and Henry for taking such good care of my little boy!”

About: I've had two dogs of my own as an adult, grew up with family dogs, and regularly do walks and drop-ins for my neighbor's dog. Both of my boys were brachycephalic breeds, so I understand how much care that takes — I'm especially attentive to heat sensitivity, breathing, and pacing during walks, and I know how to read a dog's signals and adjust accordingly. I've taken several dog training classes, read several books on positive dog training, and understand a dog's body language and signals. I've also cared for both senior and sick dogs, including my English bulldog who lived to 12 and my Frenchie that I supported through IVDD and surgery. I'm currently between jobs at the moment, and both my kids are in school. I'm generally open from 9am to 4pm for drop-ins and walks. I am extremely cautious and respectful in people's homes, and sensitive to both to their privacy and their belongings. I don't even like opening the fridge in my siblings' own homes.

“We are so happy that we found Nanci. She is so nice and provided a wonderful day for our pup. She sent pictures and videos throughout his stay so we could see how he was enjoying his day.”

About: Growing up, I always had a dog. In addition to the traditional Golden, I also loved exotic pets. Some friends from my childhood will still occasionally ask me, "what kind of weird pet do you have these days?" My husband and I were adventurous before settling down and starting our family so we decided not to jump into pet ownership until more recently. Now after having kids, we want to make sure that we are all fully ready to jump back into the long term commitment of pet ownership. In the meantime though, I have a lot of love to share and I would adore hosting your pet. My home is in town but offers nearly a half acre of fenced in yard space. I am happy to keep your pet indoors, outdoors, or a mix. Whatever you and your pet prefer, I can accommodate. I work from home and can give your pet lots of attention throughout the day. Please feel free to call me, swing by for a tour, and feel comfortable knowing that your treasured family member(s) is safe here with me. I work from home and am available every day, all day, to meet your pet's needs. I have a large fenced backyard for potty breaks and play time. You will not need to worry about your dog's safety or getting along with other animals while away from your care because I will only host one dog family at a time. I will be happy to send you picture update each day with a report of how your friend is doing while you are away. Rest easy that your animal is being loved and cared for the way you would while you are gone.
“Megan was an excellent sitter for my pup Harley! Great communication throughout the day and I felt 100% comfortable knowing she was taking good care of my baby! 10/10 would recommend :)”

“Jenny was great with Raafi! She followed all the care instructions provided. When we picked him up at the end of the day, he kept looking at Jenny from the car while she walked back into the house. That’s how we know he really bonded with her. Thank you Jenny for looking after our puppy!”

“Aguarin is such a nice and sweet guy. I need to find a babysitter very last minute. He replied to my daycare request right away, was super responsive and nice about everything. He also sent me timely updates during the day and my corgi looked very happy and cozy. Definitely recommend!!”

“Elaine did an absolutely fantastic job taking care of my two dogs! Her communication was excellent throughout, keeping me updated with adorable pictures that showed just how much fun they were having. I could tell they were well cared for, and they came home happy and tired from all the playtime. Highly recommend Elaine for anyone looking for a reliable, caring pet sitter! 🐶✨”

About: I've been helping care for friends' and family's dogs since I was 10 years old. Because I've always loved dogs and hoped to have one of my own someday, I've spent a lot of time learning about dog care, behavior, training, and enrichment. I've worked with puppies frequently in the past and am comfortable with the extra patience, supervision, and consistency they require. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, or sticking to a specific routine, I always make sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Pet care fits great into my routine. I have a flexible schedule, and I'm available throughout most weekdays for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, and playtime and I always make sure to follow each pet's routine as closely as possible. When caring for pets in a client's home, I make it a priority to follow their normal routine as closely as possible. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise and playtime, and receive the attention they need. When caring for puppies, I'm especially attentive to potty breaks, supervision, and maintaining any training routines. I'll also make keep the owners updated throughout the day.

My pets thrive on routine, and setting fixed times as it helps both me and my pets build trust. When offering pet care services, whether in my home or your home, the approach and considerations can vary to ensure the pets are happy, safe, and healthy. Here's a breakdown of how to approach pet care in both settings: In mt Home Prepare a Safe Space: Ensure my home is pet-proofed, removing any hazards or toxic substances pets can chew on or swallow. Have a dedicated space where the pet can feel secure and comfortable. Establish a Routine: Try to maintain the pet's usual feeding, walking, and playtime routine to minimize stress and anxiety. Provide Adequate Exercise: Depending on the pet's energy level and breed, provide appropriate exercise through walks, play sessions, or access to a secure backyard. Socialization: If you have pets, introduce them slowly and carefully to ensure they get along with the visiting pet. Monitor their interactions. Personal Attention: Spend quality time with each pet to provide affection and mental stimulation. This can include grooming, cuddling, and interactive play. Health Care: Administer any required medications and be prepared to handle emergencies by knowing the location of the nearest vet. In your Home Respect the Space: I treat the client's home with respect, ensuring it's as clean (or cleaner) when they return. This includes properly disposing of pet waste. Stick to the Pet’s Routine: Maintain the pet's normal feeding, walking, and playtime schedule to provide a sense of stability. Ensure Security: Always double-check that doors and gates are securely locked after you enter or exit the premises to prevent the pet from escaping. Daily Updates: Keep the pet owner updated with daily texts, photos, or videos to reassure them that their pet is in good hands. Emergency Preparedness: Know the location of the nearest veterinary hospital and have the pet owner's contact information readily available in case of emergencies. Home Care Tasks: If agreed upon, perform additional tasks like bringing in mail, watering plants, or other simple chores to help maintain the home.

I am gone from 8-3 but make sure to spend as much time with your animals as possible so they don’t miss you too much! I will care for my client’s pets in their home by staying in my designated area as well as making sure to complete each task they ask of me. I don't mind feeding your fish or watering your plants either!

While I do have some weekend commitments and can't do late nights, I have an otherwise open schedule.
About: I grew up with dogs and had my own in early adulthood, but circumstances have been such that I can't have one of my own right now. That doesn't stop me from loving on dogs! I have experience caring for dogs of all sizes, including those with special diets. I have a lot of flexibility at the moment and can be sure your dog gets walked early in the morning or in the evening to avoid the heat. I love to walk and will be happy to ensure your dog gets plenty of exercise. I have a fenced yard and no pets of my own. I have a doggy doorbell at the back door that many dogs learn to use when they want to go in or out.
“We love having our pooch stay with Cassidy - she provides such a loving home environment and lots of walks and attention! Our girl always comes back very relaxed and happy.”

“Kota gets totally spoiled with love, attention, and FUN when he stays by Michelle. I know he loves going there when he can’t stop wiggling with excitement when we arrive. He is so excited to be there! Love the pics and videos we get while we are gone. Kota is a part of our family and we love seeing a sneak peek of the fun he is having. Definitely zero guilt of “leaving Kota home” when we travel when we have him stay with Michelle.”

“Jenny was great! I needed a pet sitter last minute for my 2 week trip to Europe and Jenny saved the day! She watched my 2 year old bengal cat and sent frequent updates and super cute photos. Would definitely book with her again :)”

“Awesome , family-oriented experience. Our pups received love and attention while we were gone. Loved the photos and videos since we were missing them. Look forward to Kimberlee sitting for Mango and Bentley again ❤️”
