“Donna was very warm and caring towards our dog. She was very thoughtful in ensuring our dog felt comfortable and we really appreciated it. She was also fantastic in communicating with us! She clearly loves dogs and we highly recommend her!”

About: I grew up with dogs in the house, an Australian Shepherd, an Irish Setter, and a Border Collie mix, but have never owned a dog myself (yet). It's not uncommon for me to stop what I am doing to pet a dog and ask the owner all about them, so I figured this would be a fun way for me to get my dog fix while helping people who need the extra hand. I took my share of the responsibility growing up helping feed, walk, and drain the energy of our dogs, and even now will lend a helping hand to watch the dogs of family or friends. I also was the go-to kid around the neighborhood for pet-sitting so I have experience dealing with dogs that aren't used to me. With my service, you will have someone who looks after your furry friend like they are my own, and I can confidently say that you won't find many others out there that can match my passion for dogs! I work fully remote and as a result, find that it is hard to get out of the house some days. I've started to go on walks and figured I would blend my love for dogs with this new hobby! I also have most family in the area (all dog-friendly), so I am rarely unavailable for extended periods. If you work in person and need a place for your pet to stay during the day where they can get the attention they need, I'm your person! I live right by the Shirlington Dog Park and W&OD Trail, so access to dog-friendly walks and recreation areas is plentiful around here. I am happy to follow any rules that you would like to enforce and want to make the safety of your dog my top priority.
“Miguel & Lisa have been absolutely phenomenal! My dog couldn’t wait to come back the second day. & They handled him eating a gallon of cat food so graciously. I wasn’t worried at all about Jäger while he was with them all day. Definitely will be a regular!”

About: I’m a reliable, caring pet sitter with hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and personalities. I’ve provided daily walks, feeding, playtime, medication (when needed), and lots of love and attention to keep pets happy and comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has unique routines and needs, so I always follow care instructions closely and prioritize safety, patience, and positive reinforcement. Whether it’s energetic walks, calm companionship, or extra cuddle time, I treat every pet as if they were my own. I currently work from home so have plenty of time to spend with your pups. Whether it’s a long walk or good play time, I look forward to keeping up with your dogs needs! I live in an apartment building with 2 stories so plenty of room to play. I also have easy access to grassy areas for dog walks. I have a cat in the home who is quite adaptable to other animals, especially dogs. I stick to a feeding schedule twice a day and am happy to accommodate based on preferences.
About: I've been taking care of dogs and cats for almost my whole life--we had two dogs and a cat in the house since I was about 8 years old, and I also took care of the neighbors' pets consistently! Over the past few years, I've regularly house sat and watched my neighbor's dog for 3-14 days a time, and also gave him 8 pills a day to help prevent his seizures. I've also boarded multiple dogs at my house while our friends were out of town, and helped take care of my parents' aging dogs and cat in the last few years of their lives. Mostly, I just love animals and want to help others when they need to be away from their pets! I will gladly send photo updates to pet owners, whether we're on a walk, playing, or having a little sleepover! :) I'm a freelance/wedding videographer, so the winter months are pretty slow and give me plenty of free time for dog walks or cat drop-ins any day of the week, or to board pets here while I'm working from home! I live in a townhouse with plenty of space for dogs to roam around. My usual daily walk is through a safe, residential neighborhood away from the main roads. Your dogs are free to jump on furniture/sleep in bed with me if they want. :) We also have plenty of room for crates and bedding. We have a small fenced-in patio space in the back where they can hang out outside-- it's not a grass yard but there are garden beds they can use for the bathroom! Pictures are included in my profile. We also live near a large field for running and fetch, as well as multiple dog parks if that's something you're comfortable with! My boyfriend also loves dogs and will be here in the evenings and on weekends for extra love and cuddles for your dogs! However I'll be the sole caregiver and the only one responsible for your pets at all times, so I'll always be the one feeding, walking, and supervising :)
“I was in DC for work and Scarlett took my dog Nili for an overnight and a day of dog sitting. Nili had a great time, she was so excited to see Scarlett when she was picked up the second time. I received lots of pictures and updates throughout the days. Would definitely recommend!”

“Leila was absolutely lovely! She took so many pictures and videos of my little Hadley and gave him lots of love, attention and walks. I would book her again.”

“Nya was so good with Benji! She kept me updated throughout the day and made sure he was good and comfortable which would put any dog owner at ease while away. Thank you again Nya! Will definitely be booking again very soon!”

“This was my first time using rover. I was so nervous because my sweet pup is a bit shy and I didn’t know what to expect. Camila sent me pictures every few hours with an update on Winston the entire weekend, I was so relieved to feel like my pup was in great care the entire time. She treated Winston just like her own—I hope everyone in rover can I have the awesome experience that Winston and I had with camila!”

“Jena was so wonderful with my dog Hazel! Hazel is a very nervous dog with separation anxiety and she made sure to keep me updated throughout the day with messages, pictures, and videos. She was very easy to coordinate with and we had a great initial meeting over zoom. Would be happy to have Jena watch Hazel any time!”

“This last week Irene and James have been a lifesaver! I now need to have my dog in daycare full time which she is not used to and usually very nervous. I’ve had my dog stay with Irene and James for dog sitting and could not be happier. My dog has thrived staying with them. She is comfortable, eats, drinks water, and interacts with them instead of shutting down. I have been so amazed by their care of my dog and the consistent text and photos updates throughout the day. So thankful to have found Irene and James to care for my dog and fully recommend them for any dog care services!”

Penrose dog parents share their Rover experiences
Danny is an incredible person who takes excellent care of my fur baby. She regularly sends me photos and updates, which gives me great peace of mind knowing that my baby is doing well. I will definitely continue booking with Danny often. Truly excellent service.

Alexis was a lifesaver for us and took great care of Charlie on short notice. He was communicative, attentive, and sent updates and photos that gave us real peace of mind. Charlie was clearly comfortable and well cared for. We’d absolutely trust Katie and Alexis with him again and highly recommend him.

From the pictures Hermes appeared to enjoy hanging out with Taylor’s cute pooch. Even though Metro delays meant I arrived for pickup later than expected, Taylor did not complain. Thanks for looking after our furbaby(hope he did not shed much- we had combed him in the afternoon).
